Competitiveness and Development of National Economy
This paper examines the relation between the two, may be the most pressing, phenomena of the world economy: competitiveness and development. Of course both can be interpreted in several ways, but the most operative way is to consider competitivenes by the methodology of the
World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index, and the development by the gross of domestic product per population. The intent is to determine what is the conection between these two indicators in general, and to pass the question in such a way, and to establish a methodology for further analysis of individual groups of countries considered in the report of the World Economic
Forum's Global Competitiveness in the world. Therefore, we use correlation analysis between the observed indicators for the economy after 2005, since the above-mentioned study and implement competitiveness, with an accent on the last mid-term because of current events. The answer to the question: what is the relationship between these indicators in the timeline for all countries concerned is excpected. It is also important for the countries of the former Yugoslavia as a guide in the efforts to retrieve the position in the world economy
Empathy, Communication, Deception
Empathy is understood as a mode of understanding operating on a subconscious
level of mental processing. The cognitive element can only abstractly be distinguished
from its affective expression. When recognizing a fellow creature we involuntarily sympathize
with it. Recognition of covert motivations of overt behavior is the first step in formation
of a communication channel between two (or more) empathizing agents. Yet,
since communication evolved in variably complex social environments it was subject to
pressure of conflicting individual interests. Deception thus evolved as an adaptive evolutionary
strategy. Empathic understanding does not necessarily entail recognition of
agentās real intentions. Deception may be achieved on both conscious and unconscious
processing levels. A sufficient degree of biopsychosocial maturity must be reached for a
child to be able to independently recognize verbal and non-verbal communication finesses.
Once this level has been attained, the prevailing emotional orientation determines
his/her degree of empathizing competence
Development and Validation of a New Isocratic RP-HPLC Method for Simultaneous Determination of Sodium Metabisulfite and Sodium Benzoate in Pharmaceutical Formulation
A simple and convenient reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method for simultaneous separation, identification, and determination of sodium metabisulfite and sodium benzoate in pharmaceutical formulation has been developed and validated. Chromatographic separation was achieved on RP column Zorbax Extend C-18 (150 x 4.6 mm i.d., 3.5 mu m particles), and mixture of 0.1% phosphoric acid and acetonitrile in the ratio 62: 38 (v/v) was used as a mobile phase. The flow rate was set at 1.0 mL/min with detection wavelength of 275 nm. The method was successfully validated according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines acceptance criteria. The method is selective, as no interferences were observed at retention times corresponding to these analytes. Results of regression analyses (r) and statistical insignificance of calibration curve intercepts (p) proved linearity of the method in defined concentration ranges for sodium metabisulfite and sodium benzoate (0.05-0.15 mg/mL). Relative standard deviations calculated for both analytes in precision testing were below the limits defined for active pharmaceutical ingredients (analysis repeatability: lt 2%; intermediate precision: lt 3%). Recovery values were between 98.16% and 101.94%. According to results of robustness testing, chromatographic parameters are not significantly influenced by small variation of acetonitrile content in mobile phase, column temperature, and flow rate. Finally, the method was applied for quantitative determination of investigated preservatives in real sample analysis
C Tutor usage in relation to student achievement and progress: a study of introductory programming courses in Portugal and Serbia
Previous research studies on introductory programming courses in engineering
education in Portugal and Serbia have indicated that although high motivation
and high expectations seem to be reported by students, many students may fail
the course. This prompted a further inquiry into student attitudes, behavior,
and achievement, and it also led to the introduction of C Tutor, a widely
known program visualization tool, into courses in both countries. As a result,
in the present study, selfāreported student achievement (grades), selfāreported
student progress (knowledge improvement and confidence), and selfāreported
usage and helpfulness of C Tutor were investigated. Anonymous data about
students and their experience in the course, which also included the usage of C
Tutor, were collected in a survey in Portugal and Serbia. Quantitative methods,
including descriptive statistics, clustering, statistical testing of independence,
and partial correlation analysis, were applied in analyses of survey data. The
distribution of grades differed between the two countries, but overall attitudes
were similar. Various uncovered patterns involving student attitudes and usage
of C Tutor may serve as a starting point for new research studies.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Substituted proline derivatives as organocatalysts in the Michael reaction
Chiral, polysubstituted proline esters, obtained via cycloaddition reactions of azomethine ylides, were studied as organocatalysts in the Michael reaction of aldehydes/ketones and vinylsulphones. Under optimised reaction conditions employing 10 mol % of the catalyst in wet CH2Cl2, the yields of the products were generally good while the enantioselectivity varied, reaching up to 52 %
The effects of a selected methoxy substituted chalcone in human melanoma cells irradiated with Ī³-rays
Given the well-established potential of chalcones in modulating the response of cancer cells to therapeutic interventions, coupled with the growing imperative to enhance their biological attributes, the objective of this study was to synthesize a methoxy-substituted chalcone (OCH3) and assess its capacity to amplify the inhibitory effects of radiation in melanoma cells known for their resistance to radiotherapy. The A375 melanoma cells were subjected to a clinically relevant dose of 2 Gy gamma irradiation. OCH3 was employed either as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with irradiation. The obtained results unveiled the substantial radiosensitizing potential of OCH3 within this specific cell line. Our subsequent investigations will be designed to investigate the underlying mechanisms that contribute to the radiosensitizing properties of OCH3. Moreover, we intend to evaluate the efficacy of OCH3 against other types of radioresistant cancer cells. The presented data not only illuminates the enhanced therapeutic possibilities offered by OCH3 but also highlights its potential as a valuable agent in addressing a wider array of challenging malignancies.ICCBIKG 2023 : 2nd International Conference on Chemo and Bioinformatics, September 28-29, 2023; Kragujeva
Ispitivanje antiaritmijske aktivnosti novosintetisanih derivata propafenona u akonitinskom modelu srÄane aritmije kod pacova
By applying of aconitictest in in vivo experiments in rats under deep anesthesia, there was investigated the antiarrhythmic potential of newly synthetized fluorinated derivatives of propafenone. The animals were divided into four experimental groups. The first (aconitine group) was treated with aconitine at a dose of 60 Ī¼g/kg, which led to pronounced cardiac rhythm disorder in a short period of time. The appearance of ventricular extrasystole (VES) was taken as a parameter for ascertainment of cardiac rhytm disorder. The remaining three animal groups were taken for testing the potential of propafenone and propafenone fluorinated derivatives to stop the arrhythmia, and which was induced by i.v. aconitine injection (60 Ī¼g/kg). Propafenone, as well as 50F derivative, did not convert the disturbed cardiac rhythm (survival of animals was 0%). By applying 5PF derivative in a dose of 6 mg/kg, the animals survived with occasional establishment of sinus rhythm.
