Emergence of communities on a coevolutive model of wealth interchange
We present a model in which we investigate the structure and evolution of a
random network that connects agents capable of exchanging wealth. Economic
interactions between neighbors can occur only if the difference between their
wealth is less than a threshold value that defines the width of the economic
classes. If the interchange of wealth cannot be done, agents are reconnected
with another randomly selected agent, allowing the network to evolve in time.
On each interaction there is a probability of favoring the poorer agent,
simulating the action of the government. We measure the Gini index, having real
world values attached to reality. Besides the network structure showed a very
close connection with the economic dynamic of the system.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figure
Cellulose nanocrystal-based poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) nanocomposites covered with antimicrobial silver thin films
In this study, we reported the preparation and prospective application of the nanocomposites of poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs). CNCs were isolated from bleached sugarcane bagasse by acid hydrolysis and functionalized with adipic acid. Nanocomposites were prepared with different concentration of CNCs (0.8, 1.5, and 2.3 wt% CNC) by solution-casting method and then were covered with silver thin film by magnetron sputtering. The results showed that the surface modification increased the degree of crystallinity of nanocrystals from 51% to 56%, decreasing their length and diameter. Moreover, AFM-IR spectroscopy revealed that the modified CNCs were covered by adipic acid molecules, improving the dispersion of nanocrystals in PBAT. Well-dispersed modified CNCs acted as heterogeneous nuclei for crystallization of PBAT, and increased the storage modulus of the polymer by more than 200%. These improvements in thermal and mechanical properties of CNC-based PBAT associated with the decrease of 56% in the Escherichia coli biofilm formation on nanocomposites (antibacterial properties) qualify the CNC/PBAT nanocomposites covered with silver thin films to be used as food packaging. Dynamic scaling and aging phenomena in short-range Ising spin glass: CuCoCl-FeCl graphite bi-intercalation compound
Static and dynamic behavior of short-range Ising-spin glass
CuCoCl-FeCl graphite bi-intercalation compounds
(GBIC) has been studied with SQUID DC and AC magnetic susceptibility. The
dependence of the zero-field relaxation time above a spin-freezing
temperature (= 3.92 0.11 K) is well described by critical slowing
down. The absorption below decreases with
increasing angular frequency , which is in contrast to the case of 3D
Ising spin glass. The dynamic freezing temperature at which
dd, is determined as a function of
frequency (0.01 Hz 1 kHz) and magnetic field (0 5 kOe). The dynamic scaling analysis of the relaxation time
defined as at suggests the absence of
SG phase in the presence of (at least above 100 Oe). Dynamic scaling
analysis of and near
leads to the critical exponents ( = 0.36 0.03, = 3.5
0.4, = 1.4 0.2, = 6.6 1.2, = 0.24
0.02, and = 0.13 0.02). The aging phenomenon is studied through
the absorption below . It obeys a
power-law decay with an exponent . The rejuvenation effect is also observed under

Two refreshing views of Fluctuation Theorems through Kinematics Elements and Exponential Martingale
In the context of Markov evolution, we present two original approaches to
obtain Generalized Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorems (GFDT), by using the
language of stochastic derivatives and by using a family of exponential
martingales functionals. We show that GFDT are perturbative versions of
relations verified by these exponential martingales. Along the way, we prove
GFDT and Fluctuation Relations (FR) for general Markov processes, beyond the
usual proof for diffusion and pure jump processes. Finally, we relate the FR to

Extension to order of the high-temperature expansions for the spin-1/2 Ising model on the simple-cubic and the body-centered-cubic lattices
Using a renormalized linked-cluster-expansion method, we have extended to
order the high-temperature series for the susceptibility
and the second-moment correlation length of the spin-1/2 Ising models on
the sc and the bcc lattices. A study of these expansions yields updated direct
estimates of universal parameters, such as exponents and amplitude ratios,
which characterize the critical behavior of and . Our best
estimates for the inverse critical temperatures are
and . For the
susceptibility exponent we get and for the correlation
length exponent we get .
The ratio of the critical amplitudes of above and below the critical
temperature is estimated to be . The analogous ratio for
is estimated to be . For the correction-to-scaling

Observation of exclusive DVCS in polarized electron beam asymmetry measurements
We report the first results of the beam spin asymmetry measured in the
reaction e + p -> e + p + gamma at a beam energy of 4.25 GeV. A large asymmetry
with a sin(phi) modulation is observed, as predicted for the interference term
of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering and the Bethe-Heitler process. The
amplitude of this modulation is alpha = 0.202 +/- 0.028. In leading-order and
leading-twist pQCD, the alpha is directly proportional to the imaginary part of
the DVCS amplitude.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Electron Scattering From High-Momentum Neutrons in Deuterium
We report results from an experiment measuring the semi-inclusive reaction
where the proton is moving at a large angle relative to the
momentum transfer. If we assume that the proton was a spectator to the reaction
taking place on the neutron in deuterium, the initial state of that neutron can
be inferred. This method, known as spectator tagging, can be used to study
electron scattering from high-momentum (off-shell) neutrons in deuterium. The
data were taken with a 5.765 GeV electron beam on a deuterium target in
Jefferson Laboratory's Hall B, using the CLAS detector. A reduced cross section
was extracted for different values of final-state missing mass ,
backward proton momentum and momentum transfer . The data
are compared to a simple PWIA spectator model. A strong enhancement in the data
observed at transverse kinematics is not reproduced by the PWIA model. This
enhancement can likely be associated with the contribution of final state
interactions (FSI) that were not incorporated into the model. A ``bound neutron
structure function'' was extracted as a function of and
the scaling variable at extreme backward kinematics, where effects of
FSI appear to be smaller. For MeV/c, where the neutron is far
off-shell, the model overestimates the value of in the region of
between 0.25 and 0.6. A modification of the bound neutron structure

Complete measurement of three-body photodisintegration of 3He for photon energies between 0.35 and 1.55 GeV
The three-body photodisintegration of 3He has been measured with the CLAS
detector at Jefferson Lab, using tagged photons of energies between 0.35 GeV
and 1.55 GeV. The large acceptance of the spectrometer allowed us for the first
time to cover a wide momentum and angular range for the two outgoing protons.
Three kinematic regions dominated by either two- or three-body contributions
have been distinguished and analyzed. The measured cross sections have been
compared with results of a theoretical model, which, in certain kinematic
ranges, have been found to be in reasonable agreement with the data.Comment: 22 pages, 25 eps figures, 2 tables, submitted to PRC. Modifications:

A Kinematically Complete Measurement of the Proton Structure Function F2 in the Resonance Region and Evaluation of Its Moments
We measured the inclusive electron-proton cross section in the nucleon
resonance region (W < 2.5 GeV) at momentum transfers Q**2 below 4.5 (GeV/c)**2
with the CLAS detector. The large acceptance of CLAS allowed for the first time
the measurement of the cross section in a large, contiguous two-dimensional
range of Q**2 and x, making it possible to perform an integration of the data
at fixed Q**2 over the whole significant x-interval. From these data we
extracted the structure function F2 and, by including other world data, we
studied the Q**2 evolution of its moments, Mn(Q**2), in order to estimate
higher twist contributions. The small statistical and systematic uncertainties
of the CLAS data allow a precise extraction of the higher twists and demand
significant improvements in theoretical predictions for a meaningful comparison
with new experimental results.Comment: revtex4 18 pp., 12 figure
eta-prime photoproduction on the proton for photon energies from 1.527 to 2.227 GeV
Differential cross sections for the reaction gamma p -> eta-prime p have been
measured with the CLAS spectrometer and a tagged photon beam with energies from
1.527 to 2.227 GeV. The results reported here possess much greater accuracy
than previous measurements. Analyses of these data indicate for the first time
the coupling of the etaprime N channel to both the S_11(1535) and P_11(1710)
resonances, known to couple strongly to the eta N channel in photoproduction on
the proton, and the importance of j=3/2 resonances in the process.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
