Against the background of demographic processes of population aging in Ukraine today, as in the whole world, there is the process of change in the age structure of the working age population. The relative number of people older than working-age is increasing. Our research aimed at the analysis of the contingents of employees undergoing professional selection and  determination of the trends in quantitative and age structure of working-aged people. The materials on the analysis of the massifs of groups of workers undergoing professional selection in the Regional Center of Psychophysiological Examination in the State Institution "Ukrainian Research Institute of Industrial Medicine" are presented. The number of analyzed contingents was 19 486 persons. The study covered the five-year period of 2012-2016. The ageing index for working-aged workers was determined. The conclusions about changes in the quantitative and age structure of the working-aged population were made.  The proportion of older people among productive population of Ukraineis increasing, that is caused by  demographic changes, socio-economic crisis and the outflow of personnel. This indicates to the necessity of improving preventive measures, considering the potential of older people, in order to maintain their professional health

Thin film of composites based on N-epoxypropylcarbazole and n-butylglycidyl ether co-oligomer (GCBE) sensitized by various concentrations of cationic polymethine dyes with different polymethine chain length have been prepared. Their photophysical, electrical, and spectral properties have been investigated. All studied composite films have been shown to exhibited photoconductivity effect. In film composites with high concentration of the dye photovoltaic effect have been detected. The diffusion nature of this effect and its features correlation with electronic properties of PCFs components has been established

Protection, transient stability and fault ride-through issues in distribution networks with dispersed generation

    Get PDF
This paper describes the transient stability analysis of a 10 kV distribution network with wind generators, microturbines and CHP plants. The network being modeled in Matlab/Simulink takes into account detailed dynamic models of the generators. Fault simulations at various locations are investigated. For the studied cases, the critical clearing times are calculated. Some network parameters which influence transient stability are also observed. The compliance of DG protection to stability criteria requirements is further studied. The ride-through capability of the DG units is also investigated through transient stability analysis and the equivalent CCT-voltage dip curves are derived. It is concluded that during fault DG unit availability can be increased through modification of undervoltage protection requirements

Superconducting and magnetic properties of a new EuAsFeO0.85F0.15 superconductor

Polycrystalline samples of a new superconducting EuAsFeO0.85F0.15 compound with critical temperature Tc=11K were prepared by solid state synthesis. Its electric and magnetic properties have been investigated in magnetic fields from 0.1 to 140000 Oe. Critical magnetic fields Hc1, and Hc2 were measured and hence the magnetic penetration depths and the coherence length have been estimated. The temperature dependence Hc2 (T) exhibits clear hyperbolic - type behavior starting with the lowest fields. The data derived were used to estimate probable high Tc and Hc2 in compounds doped with rare-earths having small atomic radii.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, 13 reference

Synthesis of Nanoscale TiO2 and Study of the Effect of Their Crystal Structure on Single Cell Response

    Get PDF
To study the effect of nanoscale titanium dioxide (TiO2) on cell responses, we synthesized four modifications of the TiO2 (amorphous, anatase, brookite, and rutile) capable of keeping their physicochemical characteristics in a cell culture medium. The modifications of nanoscale TiO2 were obtained by hydrolysis of TiCl4 and Ti(i-OC3H7)4 (TIP) upon variation of the synthesis conditions; their textural, morphological, structural, and dispersion characteristics were examined by a set of physicochemical methods: XRD, BET, SAXS, DLS, AFM, SEM, and HR-TEM. The effect of synthesis conditions (nature of precursor, pH, temperature, and addition of a complexing agent) on the structural-dispersion properties of TiO2 nanoparticles was studied. The hydrolysis methods providing the preparation of amorphous, anatase, brookite, and rutile modifications of TiO2 nanoparticles 3–5 nm in size were selected. Examination of different forms of TiO2 nanoparticles interaction with MDCK cells by transmission electron microscopy of ultrathin sections revealed different cell responses after treatment with different crystalline modifications and amorphous form of TiO2. The obtained results allowed us to conclude that direct contact of the nanoparticles with cell plasma membrane is the primary and critical step of their interaction and defines a subsequent response of the cell
