    Pharmacy Students Learning Styles and Preferences toward Teaching Methods in Learning Pharmaceutical Care Concept

    The paradigm concerning the role of pharmacist has shifted from supplying drugs to providing pharmaceutical care services.1 Pharmacy faculties have responsibility to develop a curriculum that enables pharmacy students to provide pharmaceutical care services. Pharmaceutical care is provided by identifying, solving and preventing drug-related problems in patients.2 There is a need to use alternative teaching methods to aid the students develop abilities for providing pharmaceutical care. Some research has demonstrated an association between preference toward certain teaching methods and individual s learning style.3 Learning style is the process by which an individual obtains their knowledge or skills.4 Understanding pharmacy students learning style will support educators to facilitate learning process by applying appropriate teaching methods. The purpose of the study was to describe pharmacy students learning style and preferences toward some teaching methods in learning Pharmaceutical Care Concept. The study was a survey using questionnaire that consisted of two parts. Part one was Kolb s Learning Style Inventory to assess students learning styles and second part were statements of four teaching methods to know students preferences. The questionnaire was given to 4th year pharmacy students registered in Clinical Pharmacy II course. In Clinical Pharmacy II course students were taught to identify and solve drug-related problems as a component of pharmaceutical care services. After completed the questionnaire, students were asked to choose their preferences toward four teaching methods. The study surveyed 63 pharmacy students. There were 11 incomplete questionnaires excluded from analysis. The characteristic of students surveyed is described in Table I. The students’ learning styles and preferences are described in Table II. Of the 52 students, the largest group was Assimilators (52%). The remaining students were divided among other three learning styles (23% Divergers, 21% Convergers, and 4% Accommodators). All Accommodator preferred case study as their teaching method. Lecturing was the most preferred teaching method for Divergers and Assimilators, while most Convergers prefered case study as their teaching method.     First Lunar Occultation Results from the 2.4 m Thai National Telescope equipped with ULTRASPEC

    The recently inaugurated 2.4\,m Thai National Telescope (TNT) is equipped, among other instruments, with the ULTRASPEC low-noise, frame-transfer EMCCD camera. At the end of its first official observing season, we report on the use of this facility to record high time resolution imaging using small detector subarrays with sampling as fast as several 10210^2\,Hz. In particular, we have recorded lunar occultations of several stars which represent the first contribution to this area of research made from South-East Asia with a telescope of this class. Among the results, we discuss an accurate measurement of α\alpha ~Cnc, which has been reported previously as a suspected close binary. Attempts to resolve this star by several authors have so far met with a lack of unambiguous confirmation. With our observation we are able to place stringent limits on the projected angular separation (<0\farcs003) and brightness (Δm>5\Delta{\rm m} > 5) of a putative companion. We also present a measurement of the binary {HR~7072}, which extends considerably the time coverage available for its yet undetermined orbit. We discuss our precise determination of the flux ratio and projected separation in the context of other available data. We conclude by providing an estimate of the performance of ULTRASPEC at TNT for lunar occultation work. This facility can help to extend the lunar occultation technique in a geographical area where no comparable resources were available until now.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomical Journa

Office Automation System with the use of the Internet (web-based) can support the provision of information and processing data quickly and accurately. This technology is a solution for the employee to perform services specifically leave application and submission of funding without having to come directly to the company. With the leave application module that employees can perform leave application anytime and anywhere. While the funding submission module can control submitted for the employees often make companies lose. Back end system built using CodeIgniter PHP framework and frontend using Bootstrap CSS framework for the system to be accessed in a variety of platforms while using MySQL database. System testing is done using the Black-box testing methods, ie functional testing system to ensure that the system created in line with expectations and the company\u27s business processes. From the results of tests performed, it can be concluded that the system has been running in accordance with the business processes and the company\u27s expectations. Use of office automation systems can handle the existing problems, especially in the leave application modules and submission of funding

    Pengembangan Buku Ajar Bahasa Indonesia Tematik Berkarakter Bagi Siswa SD Melalui Sastra Anak

    Pengembangan karakter dapat dilakukan melalui setiap subjek dan unit-unit pendidikan serta setiap kegiatan kurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler. Artikel ini mencoba untuk menggambarkan profil bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar, kebutuhan siswa dan guru pada buku teks bahasa Indonesia tematik berkarakter, dan prototipe buku teks bahasa Indonesia yang tematik berkarakter untuk sekolah dasar melalui sastra anak-anak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang diterapkan pada bidang pendidikan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa sekolah dasar dan guru sekolah dasar di Kota Ungaran dan Kota Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) sebanyak 67 guru (72 %) menyatakan bahwa guru perlu buku teks bahasa Indonesia baru dan sebanyak 26 guru (28 %) me- nyatakan bahwa guru tidak perlu buku bahasa Indonesia baru; (2) 14 orang (15 %) guru menganggap bahwa buku teks bahasa Indonesia dapat membantu guru untuk mengajarkan pendidikan karakter kepada anak didiknya; (3) 49 orang (53 %) guru menganggap buku teks bahasa Indonesia saat ini tidak membantu untuk mengajarkan pendidikan karakter kepada anak didiknya; dan (4) 20 orang (22 %) guru menganggap buku teks bahasa Indonesia tidak dapat membantu untuk mengajarkan pen- didikan karakter kepada anak didiknya

    The rapid spread of Covid-19 has caused the government to adopt a “at home” policy by stopping various economic activities in the community. Health protocols that are carried out are maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, using masks, washing hands. As a form of implementation of Government policies, community empowerment is needed to minimize the number of Covid-19 cases, this empowerment is specifically aimed at rural communities with an interest in Social Assistance Recipients, given that the poor have low awareness of the importance of keeping free from exposure to Covid-19. . Therefore, empowerment will be carried out in the form of providing information and inviting social assistance recipients to live healthy lives and avoid exposure to Covid-19. The method of implementing activities in community service is by providing education which is carried out involving the recipient community of social assistance and interactive communication. The results of the implementation of community service activity programs in the form of providing covid-19 prevention education for social assistance recipients in Longos Village received enthusiasm and a positive response even though basically the community service team was only trying to provide additional insight for the community related to covid-19, how to avoid and prevent and change habits to be healthier by observing health protocols

    Performa Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Nila Hitam (Oreochromis Niloticus Bleeker) Melalui Penambahan Enzim Papain Dalam Pakan Buatan

    Pemanfaatan protein dalam pakan merupakan salah satu masalah dalam kegiatan budidaya ikan nila hitam yang sangat erat kaitannya dengan pertumbuhan. Penambahan enzim papain pada pakan dilakukan untuk dapat memanfaatkan protein secara maksimal dan lebih optimal pada kultivan. Papain merupakan enzim protease yang mampu menghidrolisis protein menjadi unsur-unsur yang lebih sederhana yaitu peptida hingga asam amino, sehingga meningkatkan pemanfaatan protein pakan oleh tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan enzim papain dalam pakan buatan serta dosis enzim papain yang optimal terhadap performa pertumbuhan benih ikan nila hitam (O. niloticus Bleeker). Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah benih nila hitam dengan bobot rata-rata 2,49±0,25 gr.ekor-1 dan padat tebar 1 ekor.L-1. Pemberian pakan 3 kali sehari pada pukul 08.00, 12.00, dan 16.00 secara at satiation. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan A (0% papain), perlakuan B (1,125% papain), perlakuan C (2,25% papain) dan perlakuan D (3,375% papain). Variabel yang diamati adalah laju pertumbuhan relatif, protein efisiensi rasio, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, kelulushidupan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan enzim papain dalam pakan buatan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P&lt;0,05) terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan relatif, protein efisiensi rasio, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan tidak berpengaruh (P&gt;0,05) terhadap kelulushidupan. Dosis papain: 2,38%, 2,34%, 2,33%, 2,72% mampu menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan relatif, protein efisiensi rasio, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan net protein utilization optimal masing-masing sebesar 1,84%/hari, 2,38%, 71,6%, 0,804% untuk benih nila hitam. Kualitas air selama penelitian masih berada dalam kisaran yang layak untuk media budidaya ikan nila hitam. Utilization of protein in a feed is one of the problems in the black tilapia aquaculture that are closely related to the growth. The addition of the papain enzyme in the feed is used to get a full advantage from protein maximally and more optimally for the kultivan. Papain is a protease enzyme that is able hydrolyze a proteins into simpler elements like peptides to amino acids, so it can be increase the utilization of protein in feed by the body. The purpose of this research were to determine the effect of addition papain enzyme in artificial feed and to determine the optimal dose of papain enzyme to growth performance of black tilapia seed (O. niloticus Bleeker). Test fish used black tilapia seed with weight approximately 2.49±0.25 g.fish-1 and stock density 1 fish. L-1. Feeding was done in 3 times a day at 08:00, 12:00, and 16:00 in at satiation method. The research used experimental method by completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment A (0% papain), treatment B (1.125% papain), treatment C (2.25% papain) and treatment D (3.375% papain). The observed variables were relative growth rate, protein efficiency ratio, efficiency of feed utilization, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the addition of papain enzyme in artificial feed gave a significant effect (P&lt;0.05) to increase the relative growth, protein efficiency ratio, feed utilization efficiency and had no effect (P&gt;0.05) on survival rate. The dose of papain which was obtained is: 2.38%, 2.34%, 2.33%, 2.72% capable to produce relative growth rate, efficiency ratio, efficiency feed utilization and net protein utilization optimal 1.84%/day, 2.38%, 71,6%, 0,804% for the black tilapia. Water quality during the research is still in a decent range for a medium black tilapia fish aquaculture

    Biosensor merupakan suatu perangkat sensor yang menggabungkan senyawa biologi dengan suatu transduser. Salah satu jenis biosensor yang menggunakan teknik pendeteksian perubahan massa adalah QCM (Quartz Crystal Microbalance). QCM merupakan suatu sensor yang bekerja dengan prinsip pergeseran frekuensi pada kristal kuarsa akibat adanya deposisi massa di permukaan kristal. QCM dapat dipergunakan untuk mendeteksi reaksi antar molekul, sehingga QCM dapat berfungsi sebagai biosensor yang dapat dipergunakan untuk diagnosis suatu penyakit. Dalam pengembangan QCM untuk immunosensor terdapat berbagai permasalahan, salah satunya adalah konstruksi sel. Konstruksi sel dapat dipergunakan sebagai tempat reaksi antanra biomolekul. Konstruksi sel terbuat dari bahan teflon putih. Untuk menjaga agar sensor QCM tidak mengalami tekanan fisik yang bisa mengakibatkan pecah karena tekanan dari teflon maka digunakan o-ring silikon sebagai penyekat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi sel yang dibuat dapat digunakan untuk dipergunakan sebagai media pengamatan imobilisasi Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) di atas permukaan sensor
