Theory of plasmon-enhanced high-harmonic generation in the vicinity of metal nanostructures in noble gases

We present a semiclassical model for plasmon-enhanced high-harmonic generation (HHG) in the vicinity of metal nanostructures. We show that both the inhomogeneity of the enhanced local fields and electron absorption by the metal surface play an important role in the HHG process and lead to the generation of even harmonics and to a significantly increased cutoff. For the examples of silver-coated nanocones and bowtie antennas we predict that the required intensity reduces by up to three orders of magnitudes and the HHG cutoff increases by more than a factor of two. The study of the enhanced high-harmonic generation is connected with a finite-element simulation of the electric field enhancement due to the excitation of the plasmonic modes.Comment: 4 figure

On the Solution of Linear Programming Problems in the Age of Big Data

The Big Data phenomenon has spawned large-scale linear programming problems. In many cases, these problems are non-stationary. In this paper, we describe a new scalable algorithm called NSLP for solving high-dimensional, non-stationary linear programming problems on modern cluster computing systems. The algorithm consists of two phases: Quest and Targeting. The Quest phase calculates a solution of the system of inequalities defining the constraint system of the linear programming problem under the condition of dynamic changes in input data. To this end, the apparatus of Fejer mappings is used. The Targeting phase forms a special system of points having the shape of an n-dimensional axisymmetric cross. The cross moves in the n-dimensional space in such a way that the solution of the linear programming problem is located all the time in an "-vicinity of the central point of the cross.Comment: Parallel Computational Technologies - 11th International Conference, PCT 2017, Kazan, Russia, April 3-7, 2017, Proceedings (to be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science, vol. 753

We use magnetotunneling spectroscopy to observe the spin splitting of the ground state of an X-valley-related Si-donor impurity in an AlAs barrier. We determine the absolute magnitude of the effective Zeeman spin splitting factors of the impurity ground state to be gI_{I}= 2.2 ±\pm 0.1. We also investigate the spatial form of the electron wave function of the donor ground state, which is anisotropic in the growth plane

Let DD be a bounded domain in Rn,\mathbb R^n, with smooth boundary. Denote VD(ω,t), ωSn1,tR,V_D(\omega,t), \ \omega \in S^{n-1}, t \in \mathbb R, the Radon transform of the characteristic function χD\chi_{D} of the domain D,D, i.e., the (n1)(n-1)- dimensional volume of the intersection DD with the hyperplane {xRn:=t}.\{x \in \mathbb R^n: =t \}. If the domain DD is an ellipsoid, then the function VDV_D is algebraic and if, in addition, the dimension nn is odd, then V(ω,t)V(\omega,t) is a polynomial with respect to t.t. Whether odd-dimensional ellipsoids are the only bounded smooth domains with such a property? The article is devoted to partial verification and discussion of this question

The spatial and temporal dynamics of an outbreak of the Siberian silkmoth were correlated with topographic features of the affected area using SPOT-VEG data and a high resolution digital elevation model (DEM). In 2002-2003 an outbreak affected approximately 20,000 ha in the South Siberian mountains of Russia. The outbreak began between the elevations of approximately 430- 480 m and on southwest slopes with steepness < 5 degrees. As the pest searched for food it moved up and down slope, resulting in an elevation distribution split within a range of approximately 390-540 m and slope steepness up to 15 degrees. In the final phase the azimuth distribution of damaged stands became even. The correlation between the initial phase and topographic features can be used to prioritize monitoring forest areas most vulnerable to destruction by pests

So far, the owners of capital are always keen to invest in the stock market, however not all companies listed on the stock exchange will have a big investor. This is partly due to price fluctuations, investors can also look at the future prospects of the company, does provide a substantial or not. As agribusiness companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange Index 45 for LQ is still very slow progress compared to other companies, so investors are less keen to invest in the company, so the performance is rather low. The problem formulated in this study is a variable fixed assets, long-term debt and capital affect net income in the agribusiness firm LQ 45 index listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2007 until the year 2010?. The variable is the most dominant effect on net income in the agribusiness firm LQ 45 index listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2007 until the year 2010?. The purpose of this study was conducted to analyze and to determine the effect of variable fixed assets, long-term debt and equity to net income in the agribusiness firm LQ 45 index listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2007 until 2010. And to determine the most dominant variable effect between fixed assets, long-term debt and equity to net income in the agribusiness firm LQ 45 index listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2007 until 2010. Xi variables jointly influence the variables Y1 at 72.89%, which means that the fluctuations or variations amounted to 72.89% variable Y1 influenced or caused by variable Xi together, and the remaining 27.11% or (1 - R2 = 1-72 , 89%) were caused by other factors or other variables. Partially only 2 independent variables Xi which significantly affect the dependent variable Y1 fixed assets (X1) and capital (X3), and other independent variables Xi (loans) have not significant (p> 0.05) to the dependent variable Y1 free. This means that each additional 1.00 USD fixed assets (X1) will result in a decrease in net income (Y1) significantly by Rp 0.309, and any additional capital to Rp 1.00 (X3) will lead to an increase in net income (Y1) is real Rp 0.528. The independent variable X3 is the most dominant effect on the dependent variable Y1 with a value of 8.864 with a chance F-hitung 0.005 (very real). The two dominant variables are X1 F-hitung value of 47.541 with a chance of 0.000 (very real)

observations of temperatures Siberia has shown a several degree warming over the past 30 years. It is expected that forest will respond to warming at high latitudes through increased tree growth and northward or upward slope migration. migration. Tree response to climate trends is most likely observable in the forest-tundra ecotone, where temperature mainly limits tree growth. Making repeated satellite observations over several decades provides an opportunity to track vegetation response to climate change. Based on Landsat data of the Sayan Mountains, Siberia, there was an increase in forest stand crown closure and an upward tree-line shift in the of the forest-tundra ecotone during the last quarter of the 2oth century,. On-ground observations, supporting these results, also showed regeneration of Siberian pine in the alpine tundra, and the transformation of prostrate Siberian pine and fir into arboreal (upright) forms. During this time period sparse stands transformed into closed stands, with existing closed stands increasing in area at a rate of approx. 1 %/yr, and advancing their upper border at a vertical rate of approx. 1.0 m/yr. In addition, the vertical rate of regeneration propagation is approx. 5 m/yr. It was also found that these changes correlated positively with temperature trend

. Widawati, S, Sudiana, IM, Sukara, E, and Muharam, A 2012. The Technology of Tomato Plant Cultivation Through Inverted and Conventional Gardening Based on Utilization of Indigenous Bacteria. Azzofor-wd3 is a solid inoculant consisted of 16 peat indigenous bacteria isolates i.e. Rhizobium, Azotobacter, Azospirillum, and PSB four isolates respectively were used as biofertilizers to stimulate tomato production on inverted and conventional gardening. An experiment was conducted at the Research Center for Biology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences from January until December 2011. The research was aimed to determine the potential role of Azzofor-wd3 solid inoculant as a plant growth promoter in extremely environmental conditions. The treatments of growth media mixture were arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications. The based media was peat for 50% of mixture. The treatments were the addition of biofertilizers with the same volume of the based media (50%). The treatments were (1) peat only as the control, (2) chicken dunk, (3) compost, (4) fine sand, (5) lime, (6) Azzofor-wd3 inoculant, (7) chicken dunk + fine sand, (8) chicken dunk + lime, (9) chicken dunk + Azzofor-wd3, (10) compost + fine sand, (11) compost + lime, (12) compost + Azzofor-wd3, (13) fine sand + lime, (14) fine sand + Azzofor-wd3, (15) lime + Azzofor-wd3, (16) chicken dunk + compost + fine sand, (17) chicken dunk + compost + lime, (18) chicken dunk + compost + Azzofor-wd3, (19) chicken dunk + fine sand + lime, (20) chicken dunk + fine sand + Azzofor-wd3, (21) chicken dunk + lime + Azzofor-wd3, (22) compost + fine sand + lime, (23) compost + lime + Azzofor-wd3, (24) fine sand + lime + Azzofor-wd3, (25) Chicken dunk + compost + fine sand, (26) chicken dunk + compost + fine sand + Azzofor-wd3, (27) compost + fine sand + lime + Azzofor-wd3, and (28) chicken dunk + compost + fine sand + lime + Azzofor-wd3. The results showed that the highest production of tomato in inverted gardening was 63.9 g/pot and in conventional gardening was 65.9 g/pot produced by the plants grown on peat + chicken dunk + compost + sand + lime + Azzofor wd3 inoculant, 3 months after planting. There was significant difference of available-P, bacterial population, and PME-ase activity in inverted and conventional gardening before and after fertilization, whereas there was no significant difference of tomato yield between inverted and convensional gardening. It can be concluded that Azzofor-wd3 is potential as a plant growth promoting bacteria for tomato plants grown in peat soil. The application of the bacteria is very helpful to enrich peat soil for growing vegetable crops
