Design of load-and-misalignment-insensitive gearing for aerospace, automotive and naval applications.

The operation of gears is usually accompanied with noise and vibrations that are caused by various sources. Two of the major ones are load and misalignment, which induce high magnitudes of stress on gear teeth. Hence, the main aim of this project is to mitigate their effects by proposing new design topology, which will address both issues without compromising performance of power transmission. The approach to be used in reaching load-insensitivity is to apply tooth profile modifications along with preloading and torque splitting topology, while, possible solution to the misalignment issue is implementation of gear web modification. In both cases, parametric study is used to check behavior of different systems: in part of load analysis, mesh stiffness variation is analyzed using Kisssoft software and dynamics of entire system is analyzed in Matheamatica, while misalignment effects are studied using ANSYS static structural studies. The above studies led to several important findings. Firstly, during the studies of mesh stiffness we found that loaded transverse contact ratio is more important than theoretical one for obtaining mesh curve with minimal fluctuations. Namely when loaded TCR is slightly less than integer it is possible to achieve desirable constant mesh stiffness, while being exactly integer causes spikes in the curve. Secondly, applying tip relief to spur gears changes the relationship between theoretical and loaded TCR: in case of gears with tip relief, loaded TCR is less than theoretical one, while for ordinary gears loaded TCR is always higher than theoretical. Thirdly, when helical gears have high (over than 2) integer overlap contact ratio (OCR) the effect of TCR is almost negligible. Finally, real-time self-preloading was proved to enable achieving constant mesh stiffness for wide range of loads. Also, split-torque topology helps to reduce overall level of vibrations. To find a solution for gear misalignment, 4 different gear web designs were studied: ordinary, spoked, split-pinion (modification of spoked pinion) and multicomponent topologies. Several observations were made during the study. As it was expected, stress in ordinary gears gets more concentrated with increase of misalignment. Spoked pinion topology showed complicated behavior, but still was effective in terms of stress redistribution. Fragmented pinion and multicomponent topologies helped to achieve the best stress distribution, but have some limitations, such as high structural complexity of multicomponent pinion and high stress in the spokes of fragmented pinion. More studies should be conducted to find their optimal configurations

Comparative Evaluation of Customers’ Satisfaction and Loyalty in Conventional and Islamic Banks of Pakistan: Muhammad Ilyas, Kamran Al

The intention of this paper is to examine the level of customer’s satisfaction inboth conventional and Islamic banks and to find out that the customers of which type of bank are more satisfied. A modified SERVQUAL model has been used for this purpose. Field survey was carried out through questionnaire based on modified SERVQUAL model. Data were collected from 500 walk-in customers of Islamic and conventional banks andanalysed through SPSS 16. The results show that the customers of Islamic banks are more satisfied and loyal than the customers of conventional banks. This study will help policy makers of Islamic and conventional banks understand the behavioural differences of customers and will also help them to align their service quality according to customer’s perceptions

FREQUENCY OF FUNGAL MYCOFLORA ON RICE

    Get PDF
Introduction: Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the second best essential cereal crop of the world as well as of Pakistan. There are various fungal pathogens that attack on rice and cause various rice diseases. Methods: Therefore, the present experiments were done to isolated different fungi associated with seeds, stems, and leaves of commercially grown rice varieties and of mainly isolated species. Results: Several fungi, namely, Magnaporthe oryzae, Curvularia lunata, Helminthosporium oryzae, Fusarium moniliforme, Alternaria alternata, Nigrospora oryzae, and Aspergillus niger were isolated from seeds, stems, and affected leaves of rice. Conclusion: In our research, the frequency of fungal mycoflora on rice has been calculated and the maximum isolates of Fusarium spp. have been found

This study discusses interpersonal communication for blind tutors at the Netra Mandiri Foundation in Palembang. This study aims to find out what factors affect interpersonal communication, how the process of interpersonal communication is, and how the impact of participants after attending classes at Yayasan Netra Mandiri Palembang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Methods of data collection include observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of his study, the factors that affect interpersonal communication of the three subjects, AG, JK, and AP, can be seen in the second and fifth themes, namely about the point of view of the subject and other subjects. The interpersonal communication process of the three subjects, AG, JK, and AP, can be seen from the sixth and seventh themes on conveying material so that it is easy to understand and the material presented by the subject in class. The impact of the trainees participating in this training varied, including with subject training; they could easily do the online assignments given at their school, appear in cafes to become musicians and make bands, and be equipped to open massage services at home that they could help. The economy of the participants who took the training class. Impacts vary according to the aptitude of the trainees

Hemangiomas are benign and rare tumors of female genital tract and most of them are asymptomatic. A 52-year-old woman applied to our hospital due to postmenopausal bleeding with 7 cm diameter intramural leiomyoma of the uterus. Total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo -oophorectomy material was sent to our laboratory and it was diagnosed as bilateral ovarian capillary hemangioma. Herein we reported this case because of the extremely rare incidence of primary bilateral ovarian capillary hemangiomas

Individual, structural, and institutional factors are involved to boost the informal entrepreneurial activities. A literature review of developing nations

    Get PDF
The study reviews the literature of determinants of informal entrepreneurship in developed and developing nations and finds the major causes that fabricate the informal culture, which is individuallevel, structural level and institutional level. The objective of this paper is to explore the important determinants of informal entrepreneurship in developing nations. Few factors have commonalities with other factors that have been discussed in the literature. Few determinants have explored as additional determinants that have not been discussed by Colin’s Model that was based on developed nations. This study has explored these factors as some additional factors in Colin’s model. Additional factors are entrepreneurial spawning, availability of resources, family tradition, and support of family members. No single factor is yet able to detect the difficulties of this sector, the nature of the informal entrepreneurship is always clarified by a “cocktail” of factors

We give a formula of (P+Q)D under the conditions P2Q+QPQ=0, P3Q=0, and PQPQ=0. Then, we apply it to give some expressions for the Drazin inverse of block matrix M=(ABCD) (A and D are square matrices) under some conditions, generalizing some recent results in the literature. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate our results
