A Short Note on the Bruinier-Kohnen Sign Equidistribution Conjecture and Hal\'asz' Theorem
In this note, we improve earlier results towards the Bruinier-Kohnen sign
equidistribution conjecture for half-integral weight modular eigenforms in
terms of natural density by using a consequence of Hal\'asz' Theorem. Moreover,
applying a result of Serre we remove all unproved assumptions.Comment: 4 pages, main result made unconditional, minor changes due to

On conjectures of Sato-Tate and Bruinier-Kohnen
This article covers three topics. (1) It establishes links between the
density of certain subsets of the set of primes and related subsets of the set
of natural numbers. (2) It extends previous results on a conjecture of Bruinier
and Kohnen in three ways: the CM-case is included; under the assumption of the
same error term as in previous work one obtains the result in terms of natural
density instead of Dedekind-Dirichlet density; the latter type of density can
already be achieved by an error term like in the prime number theorem. (3) It
also provides a complete proof of Sato-Tate equidistribution for CM modular
forms with an error term similar to that in the prime number theorem.Comment: 26 pages; to appear in The Ramanujan Journa
Fast computation of half-integral weight modular forms
To study statistical properties of modular forms, including for instance
Sato-Tate like problems, it is essential to have a large number of Fourier
coefficients. In this article, we exhibit three bases for the space of modular
forms of any half-integral weight and level 4, which have the property that
many coefficients can be computed (relatively) quickly on a computer.Comment: 8 pages; major improvements in the comparision between the different

On The Hecke Eigenforms of Half-Integral Weight and Dedekind-Eta Products
Systematic choice of the Hecke eigenforms of half-integral weight is an
interesting problem in the theory of modular forms. In this paper, we find all
Dedekind-eta products of half-integral weight which are Hecke eigenforms up to
weight 15/2 with varying levels. Proof is based on the Shimura lift
A Short Note on the Pell-Lucas-Eisenstein Series
In this work, we define a new type of Eisenstein-like series by using
Pell-Lucas numbers and call them the Pell-Lucas-Eisenstein Series. Firstly, we
show that the Pell-Lucas-Eisenstein series are convergent on their domain.
Afterwards we prove that they satisfy some certain functional equations. Proofs
follows from some on calculations on Pell-Lucas numbers.Comment: 5 pages, might differ slightly from the published versio
On the distribution of coefficients of half-integral weight modular forms and the Bruinier-Kohnen Conjecture
This work represents a systematic computational study of the distribution of
the Fourier coefficients of cuspidal Hecke eigenforms of level
and half-integral weights. Based on substantial calculations, the question is
raised whether the distribution of normalised Fourier coefficients with bounded
indices can be approximated by a generalised Gaussian distribution. Moreover,
it is argued that the apparent symmetry around zero of the data lends strong
evidence to the Bruinier-Kohnen Conjecture on the equidistribution of signs and
even suggests the strengthening that signs and absolute values are distributed
independently.Comment: v3: minor revision, might differ slightly from the published versio
Selmer Groups in Twist Families of Elliptic Curves
The aim of this article is to give some numerical data related to the order
of the Selmer groups in twist families of elliptic curves. To do this we assume
the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture is true and we use a celebrated
theorem of Waldspurger to get a fast algorithm to compute . Having
an extensive amount of data we compare the distribution of the order of the
Selmer groups by functions of type with small. We discuss how the
"best choice" of is depending on the conductor of the chosen elliptic
curves and the congruence classes of twist factors.Comment: to appear in Quaestiones Mathematicae. 16 page
Analytic covering maps and application for the modular functions
Covering spaces, analytic covering spaces, modular function and applications of the modular function to covering maps are considered in this work, consisting of three sections. In the first section some fundamental concepts are introduced for the next sections. In addition, some important theorems are given without proofs, to be used in the second and the third sections. The second section begins with covering spaces which are obtained from covering maps. And then the fact that every path in the covered space can be lifted to a path in the covering space, which is an important feature of the covering spaces, is given. Finally in this section, analytic covering maps and anaytic covering spaces are examined. Here, the universal covering space is defined and its consequences which are very important are given. In the third section, firstly modular group and a special element of it, the modular function, are introduced and the connection with covering spaces is investigated. As a consequence of this, the fact that upper half plane is the covering space of C0,1 is obtained. Then as an application of the modular function to covering maps, a tessellation of the upper half plane is considered. However two important theorems dedicated to C. E. Picard (1856-1941) are given. Lastly necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the universal analytic covering spaces are given
Modular forms, elliptic curves and their applications
In this work, two recent popular theories of mathematics, namely Elliptic Curves and Modular Forms are discussed. The Taniyama-Shimura-Weil Conjecture which is also named as "Modularity Theorem" after proven, connects these two theories and it has various applications. Using the relationship of these theories an open problem on the Theory of Elliptic Curves is solved by Modular Forms Theory. In the first chapter of the work, some of the concepts which will be used later are introduced. In the second chapter, the theory of elliptic curves is introduced and some results for the families of elliptic curves over finite fields are obtained. In the last section of this chapter, the properties of the elliptic curves defined over rational numbers were observed and some applications are given. The third chapter is reserved for modular forms. Integer and half-integer weight forms are introduced and also the definition of Hecke operator is given. This chapter ended with the statement of Modularity Theorem which is mentioned above. The fourth and final chapter of the work which is the essential part of this thesis, the problem of computing the order of the Selmer group of a randomly selected elliptic curve is considered. In this case, there is no solution of this problem in the literature but restricting twist families of elliptic curves, this problem is partly solved by using the fact that modular forms are analytic functions. While this problem is being solved, it is assumed that one of the award-winning conjectures of the mathematics called the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture is true and an important theorem of J. L. Waldspurger is used. The distribution of the computed orders of Selmer groups expressed with a simple function
