Characteristics and application of the asymmetric slab waveguide in optical integrated circuit

    Get PDF
In this chapter, consists of demand in optical networking for photonic components that meet performance criteria as well as economic requirements has opened the door for novel technologies capable of high-yield low cost manufacturing while delivering high performance and enabling unique functions. The most promising new technologies are based on integrated optics. Integration permits the parallel production of complex multif unction photonic circuit on asymmetric slab waveguide. This kind of waveguide has very important role for designing the integrated optical circuit. To obtain the high performance function, we need to observe the waveguide characteristic in transverse mode (TE mode and TM m ode), the waveguide structure, and materials. Hence, a thoroughly study on asymmetric slab waveguide is essential in future implementation of optical devices in optical network. Integrated optics is the technology of constructing optic devices and networks on substrates [1]. Integrated optics offers the capability of combining optics and electronic components on a single substrate to produce functional systems or subsystems. Within an integrated optic network, light is transferred between components by a rectangular dielectric-slab waveguide

This study aimed to examine the effect of locus of control on dysfunctional audit, the effect of organization commitment on dysfunctional audit, the effect of performance on dysfunctional audit and the effect of turnover intention on dysfunctional audit. The object of this research is independent auditors in Pekanbaru and Padang. Methods of data collection used in this research is a method of questioner. From 72 questioners distributed, returned was 62 questioners, but only 59 respondents who fill out the questioner and the method of selecting a sample using. Data analysis conducted with multiple regression model with help of software SPSS version 17.0. The result provide that locus of control, performance, and turnover intention has significant effect to the dysfunctional audit of the independent auditors in Pekanbaru and Padang. While organization commitment do not has a significant effect to the dysfunctional audit of the independent auditors in Pekanbaru and padang. Keywords : Locus of control, organization commitment, performance, turnover intention and dysfunctional audit

A total of 392 twenty eight week-old laying hens was used to study the effects of dietary inclusion of solvent extracted palm kernel cake (PKC) (0%, 12.5% and 25%) and enzyme (mixture of mannanase, α-galactosidase and protease) supplementation (0 kg/t, 1 kg/t and 2 kg/t) on the performance of laying hens. The levels of PKC did not significantly influence nitrogen corrected true metabolizable energy (TMEn) of the diets. Enzyme supplemented PKC had significantly higher AME and TMEn values than PKC diets with no enzyme supplementation. Dietary inclusion of 12.5% and 25% PKC in the diets of laying hens did not adversely affect mean egg production or daily egg mass. However, layers consumed significantly more PKC-based diets and had significantly poorer feed conversion ratios (FCR) than controls. However, the feed intake and FCR of hens provided the 12.5% PKC-based diets with enzyme supplementation at 1 kg/t did not differ from the controls. Dietary inclusion of PKC or enzyme did not affect eggshell quality, but egg yolk colour was significantly paler when layers were fed the 25% PKC diet

The objective of this research is to examine and analyze the influence of the net income, operating cash flow, previous cash dividend payment, and quick ratio toward cash dividend at the LQ-45 corporations listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2011-2013. The Population in this research are LQ-45 corporations which are listed at the Stock Exchange during 2011-2013. Based on purposive sampling method obtained that the 22 companies which are used as the samples in this research. The examination is conducted using multiple linear regression method of processing data with SPSS version 17. The results showed that the variables of net income and previous cash dividend payment have a significant influence toward cash dividend, while the independent variables operating cash flow and quick ratio have no significant influence toward cash dividend. Keywords: Net Income, Cash, Dividend Payment, and Quick Rati

Hubungan Skeptisme Profesional Auditor, Situasi Audit, Etika, Pengalaman Audit, Pengetahuan Mendeteksi Kekeliruan dengan Pertimbangan Tingkat Materialitas ( pada Kantor Akuntan Publik Se-sumatera)

This study examined the relationship of professional skepticism audit, audit situation, ethics, audit experience, and knowledge to detect errors in consideration of the level of materiality. The study employs a field experiment involving auditors who worked on the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) and listed on the Directory Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IAPI) 2013 Se-Sumatra. Data were obtained through questionnaires and based on pre-defined criteria there are 80 questionnaires can be used. Methods of data analysis in this study is the multiple linear regression with SPSS version 17.0. Results of regression testing (ttest) showed that the auditor's professional skepticism, audit situation, and ethical considerations have a significant relationship with the level of materiality while auditing experience and knowledge to detect mistakes not have a significant relationship with the level of materiality considerations on Public Accounting Firm (KAP) Se -Sumatra. The amount of R Square (R2) of 0.454 gives the sense that the rate of 45.40% materiality considerations professional skepticism can be explained by the audit, the audit situation, ethics, audit experience and knowledge to detect errors while 54.60% can be explained by other variables

EFFECT OF MANGOSTEEN PEEL EXTRACT ON BONE FRACTURE HEALING

Objective: Healing of bone fractures is mediated through antioxidants; however, increased free radical levels at the site of fracture inhibit bone healing.Mangosteen peel has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antihistaminic, antimalarial, and other beneficialproperties as it contains many active substances such as xanthones, anthocyanins, phenols, and tannins. In this study, we aimed to determine theeffects of mangosteen peel extract on bone fracture healing. Methods: We used six mice with left and right femoral fractures (12 femurs). Mangosteen peel extract was applied to the left femurs of the six mice attwo dosages (20 and 40 mg/kg; three femurs each) on days 2, 4, and 6 after fracture; saline was injected into the right femurs of all six mice. On day 7,all the animals were sacrificed, and femur defect diameter was evaluated using dental digital radiography. Results: The femoral defect diameter in mice treated with 40 mg/kg dose of mangosteen peel extract was less than that in mice treated with saline, although the difference was not significant. Conclusion: Application of a 40 mg/kg dose of mangosteen peel extract promotes bone fracture healing

The aims of this research is to examine and analyze: the reasons for justifying the policies issued by the government on residential ownership for foreign employees domiciled in Indonesia, the regulation of residential ownership for foreign employees domiciled in Indonesia, and the procedures of residential ownership for foreign employees domiciled in Indonesia. The method used is legal normative with a statute approach and conceptual approach. Sources and types of legal materials, primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. The technique of collecting legal materials is done through literature research. The process and analysis of legal materials is carried out in a coherent, and systematic manner, by carrying out classification techniques. As the result, a principle of benefit is the reason for government to issue the policies in which the presence of Foreign employees in Indonesia must beneficial to the national development and not harmful to discipline and security of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The regulation started from Indonesian constitution of 1945, Law. No.5 of 1960 concerning Agraria, Law No. 20 of 2011 concerning Flats, Government Regulation No.103 of 2015 concerning Residence Ownership or Occupancy by Foreigners domiciled in Indonesia, Law No.6 of 2011 concerning Immigration and Government Regulation No.26 of 2016 concerning Regulation of Government Regulation No.31 of 2013 concerning Implementation Regulations of Law No. 6 of 2011. The procedures for the ownership of residential houses for Foreign employees domiciled in Indonesia must meet the requirements as stipulated in Government Regulation No.103 of 2015
