The study is based on the body mass index of students between the ages of 10 and 14. The body mass index of5043 students was tested in order to bring out the fact that the degree of obesity is not as high as health representatives claim. By means of this research we found that a percentage of 49% of the tested children were normal weight and only 2.31% were obese. The causes of obesity in these subjects may be metabolic disorders. The existence of obesity cannot be attributed only to eating habits, lack of physical activity or a sedentary lifestyle

Objective: The aim of this research is to analyse the use of the practical component within the online PE lesson during the Covid-19 pandemic.Design: A number of 400 PE teachers from 9 counties of Romania were interviewed in connection with the online PE lesson during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the proposed questionnaire contains two parts: one in which demographic data is requested and one containing 14 items requesting the specialized opinion regarding the online PE lesson. The likert scale was used in order to construct 5 answer options for each of the 14 items. Results: Teachers who said they approach these elements "Very Much" or "A lot" are below 3.6%. Those who answered that they approach them "Enough" are still quite few when it comes to learning/strengthening motor skills specific to sports games (8%), but their number increases when it comes to speed (17.3%) and endurance (22.8%). One may also notice that the sum of the percentages “A Little” + “Not at all” of the teachers who answered that they approach these three elements is over 71%. (77.6% speed, 71.5% endurance, 97.3% motor skills specific to sports games). Conclusion: Teachers’ answers indicate the fact that, in the online PE lesson, motor skills are developed, with an increased emphasis on strength, dexterity and flexibility.</p

Background: Although athletes’ experiences of autonomy, competence, and relatedness play in key role in their motivation, performance-related outcomes, and wellness, there is no evidence to date on measures of autonomy, competence, and relatedness in the Romanian sport context. Building upon self-determination theory, the objective of this research was to adapt the Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale and analyze its psychometric properties in the Romanian sport context. Methods: The participants were 642 professional athletes (354 males and 288 females; Mage = 22.81, SD = 5.78) who competed at the international and/or national level. Results: The results from confirmatory factor analyses psychometrically supported a six-factor correlated model, which was invariant across gender, age, and sport. Convergent validity was met by average variance extracted values between 0.60 and 0.74. Discriminant validity was underpinned by values from −0.72 to 0.72 for a heterotrait–monotrait ratio of correlations among the six factors. Reliability was endorsed by Cronbach’s alpha scores between 0.75 and 0.89, and between 0.76 and 0.89 for Raykov’s composite reliability coefficient. Criterion validity was supported by positive relationships of autonomy, competence, and relatedness satisfaction to autonomous motivation, and positive associations of autonomy, competence, and relatedness frustration with controlled motivation and amotivation. Conclusions: The Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale is shown to be a valid and reliable measure of need satisfaction and frustration in professional Romanian athletes

In this paper we want to present the development of upper limb muscle control in sportswomen handball. Thus at the beginning and end of championship players girls were tested with one MOVE 1 DU device type, then centralized data obtained and analyzed statistically. Handball players’ were 10 girls subjected search with the average age of 12.5 years, the average height of 165.5 cm. and an average weight of 57.7 kg. By centralizing data obtained we have seen an increase in upper limb neuromuscular control in final testing of statistically p <.05. Statistical analysis confirms the hypothesis that the means to improve neuromuscular control if applied properly and psychomotor functional somatic features specific age increases the competitive performance

In order for physical education classes in school to achieve their goals in the training and development of pupils, they must participate with pleasure, convinced that physical exercise helps them maintain an optimal state of health, a harmonious physical and personality development. For these reasons, it is important to know how students appreciate the physical education classes, how attractive they are to them, and what are their views on how to improve teaching techniques. The survey was conducted during school year 2015-2016, in November for the school from Turkey, on a number of 100 respondents and in March, for the schools from Romania, on a number of 94 respondents. The self-designed questionnaire represents the most widely used method in quantitative sociological research. The self-designed questionnaire contained a total of 10 questions that followed: In the first 4 questions, it was followed the pupils’ opinion regarding the number of physical education classes in the school curriculum, the degree of satisfaction with the physical education classes in school, and the benefits that physical activity is believed to have. Questions 5-7 aimed at the rewards or sanctions received in the physical education class and the conflicts that may arise in the relationship between teacher and student. In both countries, physical education and sport require knowledge of all aspects associated with physical exercise, students’ willingness to exercise and practise a sport, the desire to engage in physical exercises and their awareness of the influence that physical education has on their health

During the 90’s, graduates benefited of a high social status and living standards, currently the quality and value of a university degree is uncertain. Since the labour market has diversified significantly, an imbalance occurred between the labour market supply and demand. Therefore universities and faculties should establish a dialogue with the main beneficiaries on the labour market. Over the last years, this field of Physical Education and Sport has diversified considerably, at the same time the labour market demand has needed various other sport-related jobs whereas the Physical Education teacher job is no longer sought-after on the labour market. Consequently the degree programmes offered by faculties should be based on the demand from the labour market
