Corrosive environments such as marine sediments can cause corrosion to steel pipelines at any time when certain conditions are met. Seabed sediment could cause severe corrosion damage due to its corrosiveness to the pipelines buried under it. Many consequences could take place in case if there is incident in oil/gas pipelines. Successfully identifying elements of corrosion in marine sediment would enhance the future of steel structure protection and monitoring systems. This article focuses on the behaviour of corrosion rate of steel located near shore environment and the aim is to determine the effect of sediment on corrosion of steel. To investigate that, simulated near shore sediment conditions have been used where the steel coupons buried in sediments which have different characteristics. Weight loss technique has been implemented to determine the weight loss rate of the steel specimens. Based on the results of this study, metal weight loss increases as the duration of exposure to seabed sediment environment become longer. The sea sediment simulated condition has given significant levels of corrosion. Conclusively, the corrosion rate of steel in seabed sediment located in tropical region is complicated and further studies are suggested

This study aims to develop a new approach in doing evaluation of irrigation system in terms of getting accurate data at a reasonable cost in an essay and fast manner. The research was done at Gumbasa Irrigation District in Sigi, Central of Sulawesi, Indonesia on May-June 2015. The workflow consists of: (i) preparation; (ii) flight planning; (iii) automated flight; (iv) data processing. Data analysis was done by comparison between Red Green Blue (RGB) method and Near Infra Red Green Blue (NirGB) method. The results show that the use of micro-UAV provide an efficient way to collect data needed to manage a very large irrigation system. The RGB image can be effectively used to identify crop’s condition on an irrigation area, which is needed to plan irrigation efficiently. The NirGB image can be effectively used to assess tertiary and secondary level of irrigation canal such as leakage.Jabal Tarik Ibrahim, Nugroho Tri Waskitho, Wahono, Sitti Rahma Ma’mu

This study aims to produce biotechnopreneurship-based science learning materials that are valid, practical, and effectiveto facilitate junior high school students\u27 life skills. This research is development research using a 4D development model that produces Biotechnopreneurship-based science learning materials equipped with the syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheets, life skills tests. Learning materials were tested on 35 junior high school students with the one-group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis is descriptive qualitative with the results: (a) validation of learning materials with valid categories (score 3-4); (b) readability of learning materials with good categories (c) implementation of learning in good categories (score 3.7); (d) student responses were positive; (e) students\u27life skills generally increase (N-gain 0.71 with high category). The indicator of Life Skills that experiences the most significant increase between pre test and post test is the aspect of making a decision. Indicators of information gathering are indicators that have a low increase after learning. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the biotechnopreneurship-based science learning materials are valid, practical, and effective to facilitate junior high school students\u27 life skills
