Generic coverings of plane with A-D-E-singularities
We generalize results of the paper math.AG/9803144, in which Chisini's
conjecture on the unique reconstruction of f by the curve B is investigated.
For this fibre products of generic coverings are studied. The main inequality
bounding the degree of a covering in the case of existence of two nonequivalent
coverings with the branch curve B is obtained. This inequality is used for the
proof of the Chisini conjecture for m-canonical coverings of surfaces of
general type for .Comment: 43 pages, 20 figures; to appear in Izvestiya Mat
The conical scanner evaluation system design
The software design for the conical scanner evaluation system is presented. The purpose of this system is to support the performance analysis of the LANDSAT-D conical scanners, which are infrared horizon detection attitude sensors designed for improved accuracy. The system consists of six functionally independent subsystems and five interface data bases. The system structure and interfaces of each of the subsystems is described and the content, format, and file structure of each of the data bases is specified. For each subsystem, the functional logic, the control parameters, the baseline structure, and each of the subroutines are described. The subroutine descriptions include a procedure definition and the input and output parameters
Multilevel Parallelization: Grid Methods for Solving Direct and Inverse Problems
In this paper we present grid methods which we have developed for solving direct and inverse problems, and their realization with different levels of optimization. We have focused on solving systems of hyperbolic equations using finite difference and finite volume numerical methods on multicore architectures. Several levels of parallelism have been applied: geometric decomposition of the calculative domain, workload distribution over threads within OpenMP directives, and vectorization. The run-time efficiency of these methods has been investigated. These developments have been tested using the astrophysics code AstroPhi on a hybrid cluster Polytechnic RSC PetaStream (consisting of Intel Xeon Phi accelerators) and a geophysics (seismic wave) code on an Intel Core i7-3930K multicore processor. We present the results of the calculations and study MPI run-time energy efficiency
Determination of composition and fluidity of an alloy for impregnating hard alloys on the basis of titanium carbide
In this paper optimum compositions of a metal bond of Cr – Ni - Co system are determined by mathematical planning methods. As a response function, value of bending strength at a temperature of 800 °C was used. On the basis of the developed planning matrix samples of required composition were made, bending strength and long-term strength are measured. A certain composition of alloy-bond and its quantity is found. Spiral tests were conducted to determine fluidity
The Lambda_b lifetime in the light front quark model
The enhancement of the Lambda_b decay width relative to B decay one due to
the difference of Fermi motion effects in Lambda_b and B is calculated in the
light--front quark model with the simplifying assumption that Lambda_b consists
of the heavy quark and light scalar diquark. In order to explain the large
deviation from unity in the experimental result for tau(Lambda_b)/tau(B), it is
necessary that diquark be light and the ratio of the squares of the Lambda_b
and B wave functions at the origin be \le 1.Comment: final journal version to appear in JETP Letter
