Milky Way Subsystems from Globular Clusters Kinematics Using Gaia DR2 and HST Data

We employ Gaia DR2 proper motions for 151 Milky Way globular clusters from Vasiliev (2019) in tandem with distances and line-of-sight velocities to derive their kinematical properties. To assign clusters to the Milky Way thick disk, bulge, and halo we follow the approach of Posti et al. (2018) who distinguished among different Galactic stellar components using stars's orbits. In particular, we use the ratio Lz/eL_{z}/e, the ZZ projection of the angular momentum to the eccentricity, as population tracer, which we complement with chemical abundances extracted from the literature and Monte-Carlo simulations. We find that 20 globular clusters belong to the bar/bulge of the Milky Way, 35 exhibit disk properties, and 96 are members of the halo. Moreover, we find that halo globular clusters have close to zero rotational velocity with average value =1±\pm 4 km s1^{-1}. On the other hand, the sample of clusters that belong to the thick disk possesses a significant rotation with average rotational velocity 179 ±\pm 6 km s1^{-1}. The twenty globular clusters orbiting within the bar/bulge region of the Milky Way galaxy have average rotational velocity of 49 ±\pm 11 km s1^{-1}.Comment: 25 pages, 10 Figures, 5 Tables. Nanostructural states were investigated, that were formed in Nb-Al system-based mechanocomposite after combined deformation treatment that includes mechanical activation in a planetary ball mill and subsequent consolidation by torsion under pressure on Bridgman anvils. The formation of the layered structure, consisting of Nb and Al nanobands with width from several to several tens of nanometers was revealed. The structural states with high elastic curvature of crystal lattice and high level of local internal stresses found in Nb and Al subgrains were investigated by transmission electron microscopy

The Multiband Photometry of GRB Host Galaxies: Comparison with the Spectral Energy Distributions of Nearby and Theoretical Modeling Galaxies

We present one of the results of BVRIBVRI photometry of the hosts of GRB for the host galaxy of GRB 970508 and the theoretical modeling of its continuum spectral energy distribution (SED) to show that it is important to take into account internal extinction in the host galaxies. We compared the BVRI broad-band flux spectrum of the host to template SEDs of local starburst galaxies and found that there is a significant internal extintion in this host. Moreover, this comparison allows us to derive the absolute magnitude (M_{B_{rest}}) and rouhgly estimate reddening (A_V). Population synthesis modeling of the continuum SED for different reddening laws demostrates that the observational data of the host galaxy of GRB 970508 are best fitted by the spectral properties of a model SED with extinction of A_V\approx 2.Comment: 3 pages, 2 figures, poster presentation on 2nd Rome Workshop on Gamma-Ray Bursts in the Afterglow Er

The aim of the study was to investigate efficacy of specific prevention of pneumococcal infection in high-risk group patients living at Krasnoyarsk krai. Methods. The study involved 12,080 patients with a high risk of pneumococcal infection including patients with chronic lung diseases, chronic heart failure (CHF) and diabetes mellitus. A special questionnaire was developed which included medical history for the previous 1 year and for 1 year after the vaccination. Results. CHF was diagnosed in 41.08% of patients, diabetes was diagnosed in 28.44%, chronic lung diseases were diagnosed in 30.07%; 2.4% of patients had pneumonia. PCV13 vaccine (Prevenar 13) was used in 9,986 patients (82.67%) including 5,070 patients (41.97%) vaccinated against flu and pneumococcus simultaneously. PPV23 (Pneumo-23) vaccine was used in 1,967 patients (16.28%) including 1,181 patients (9.83%) vaccinated against flu and pneumococcus simultaneously. Due to the broad-scale vaccination against pneumococcal infection, exacerbation rate reduced trice, number of hospitalisations related to exacerbations reduced by 11.5 times, morbidity of pneumonia reduced by 4.8 times, morbidity of acute respiratory infections and flu reduced by 6.6 times. Conclusion. The results confirmed high efficacy and safety of 13-valent conjugate pneumococcal vaccine and 23-valent polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine. The vaccination allowed reducing morbidity of respiratory infection and decrease number of hospitalisations due to exacerbations of chronic diseases.

Genetic Variation and De Novo Mutations in the Parthenogenetic Caucasian Rock Lizard Darevskia unisexualis

Unisexual all-female lizards of the genus Darevskia that are well adapted to various habitats are known to reproduce normally by true parthenogenesis. Although they consist of unisexual lineages and lack effective genetic recombination, they are characterized by some level of genetic polymorphism. To reveal the mutational contribution to overall genetic variability, the most straightforward and conclusive way is the direct detection of mutation events in pedigree genotyping. Earlier we selected from genomic library of D. unisexualis two polymorphic microsatellite containg loci Du281 and Du215. In this study, these two loci were analyzed to detect possible de novo mutations in 168 parthenogenetic offspring of 49 D. unisexualis mothers and in 147 offspring of 50 D. armeniaca mothers . No mutant alleles were detected in D. armeniaca offspring at both loci, and in D. unisexualis offspring at the Du215 locus. There were a total of seven mutational events in the germ lines of four of the 49 D. unisexualis mothers at the Du281 locus, yielding the mutation rate of 0.1428 events per germ line tissue. Sequencing of the mutant alleles has shown that most mutations occur via deletion or insertion of single microsatellite repeat being identical in all offspring of the family. This indicates that such mutations emerge at the early stages of embryogenesis. In this study we characterized single highly unstable (GATA)n containing locus in parthenogenetic lizard species D. unisexualis. Besides, we characterized various types of mutant alleles of this locus found in the D. unisexualis offspring of the first generation. Our data has shown that microsatellite mutations at highly unstable loci can make a significant contribution to population variability of parthenogenetic lizards
