    Using Neural Networks In Software Metrics

    Software metrics provide effective methods for characterizing software. Metrics have traditionally been composed through the definition of an equation, but this approach is limited by the fact that all the interrelationships among all the parameters be fully understood. Derivation of a polynomial providing the desired characteristics is a substantial challenge. In this paper instead of using conventional methods for obtaining software metrics, we will try to use a neural network for that purpose.     OPTIMAL AREA AND PERFORMANCE MAPPING OF K-LUT BASED FPGAS

    FPGA circuits are increasingly used in many fields: for rapid prototyping of new products (including fast ASIC implementation), for logic emulation, for producing a small number of a device, or if a device should be reconfigurable in use (reconfigurable computing). Determining if an arbitrary, given wide, function can be implemented by a programmable logic block, unfortunately, it is generally, a very difficult problem. This problem is called the Boolean matching problem. This paper introduces a new implemented algorithm able to map, both for area and performance, combinational networks using k-LUT based FPGAs.k-LUT based FPGAs, combinational circuits, performance-driven mapping.

    We study the variational problem \inf \{\lambda_k(\Omega): \Omega\ \textup{open in}\ \R^m,\ |\Omega| < \infty, \ \h(\partial \Omega) \le 1 \}, where λk(Ω)\lambda_k(\Omega) is the kk'th eigenvalue of the Dirichlet Laplacian acting in L2(Ω)L^2(\Omega), \h(\partial \Omega) is the (m−1)(m-1)- dimensional Hausdorff measure of the boundary of Ω\Omega, and ∣Ω∣|\Omega| is the Lebesgue measure of Ω\Omega. If m=2m=2, and k=2,3,⋯k=2,3, \cdots, then there exists a convex minimiser Ω2,k\Omega_{2,k}. If m≄2m \ge 2, and if Ωm,k\Omega_{m,k} is a minimiser, then Ωm,k∗:=int(Ωm,k‟)\Omega_{m,k}^*:= \textup{int}(\overline{\Omega_{m,k}}) is also a minimiser, and Rm∖Ωm,k∗\R^m\setminus \Omega_{m,k}^* is connected. Upper bounds are obtained for the number of components of Ωm,k\Omega_{m,k}. It is shown that if m≄3m\ge 3, and k≀m+1k\le m+1 then Ωm,k\Omega_{m,k} has at most 44 components. Furthermore Ωm,k\Omega_{m,k} is connected in the following cases : (i) m≄2,k=2,m\ge 2, k=2, (ii) m=3,4,5,m=3,4,5, and k=3,4,k=3,4, (iii) m=4,5,m=4,5, and k=5,k=5, (iv) m=5m=5 and k=6k=6. Finally, upper bounds on the number of components are obtained for minimisers for other constraints such as the Lebesgue measure and the torsional rigidity.Comment: 16 page

    Clypeina tibanai, sp. nov. (Polyphysaceae, Dasycladales, Chlorophyta), a mid-Cretaceous green alga from the Potiguar Basin, Brazilian margin of the young South Atlantic Ocean

    The fossil genus Clypeina (Michelin, 1845) comprises some 40 species. We describe Clypeina tibanai, a new spe-cies from ? upper Albian–Cenomanian strata of the Potiguar Basin, Brazil, characterised by closely set verticils of tubular, bended laterals. It is compared with Clypeina hanabataensis Yabe &amp; Toyama, 1949, a Late Jurassic species, and with Pseudoactinoporella fragilis (Conrad, 1970), an Early Cretaceous taxon. The new species be-longs to a short list of green algae found in the young South Atlantic oceanic corridor, an assemblage defining a phycological paleobioprovince discrete from that of the Tethyan realm

    In this paper we studied a device based on array of six different sensors with surface acoustic wave for detections and recognition of three chemical warfare agents (chloropicrin, soman and lewisite). The sensors are “delay line” type with a center frequency of 69.4 MHz. It presents an original algorithm to identify the nature and concentration of gas from a finite range of possible gases.     Systématique des algues rouges du MiocÚne moyen de la Formation Gùrbova de Sus (Bassin Transylvanien, Roumanie)

    This study describes seventeen non-geniculate coralline algal species (orders Corallinales, Hapalidiales and Sporolithales) from the middle Miocene (lower-middle Badenian) red-algal limestones of the Transylvanian Basin, GĂąrbova de Sus Formation. For the description and identification at species level, we follow the common diagnostic features used for fossil species and some characters that are used as diagnostic for modern species (roof morphology for asexual conceptacles, the presence/absence of a layer of elongated cells below sporangial compartments and number of cells in paraphyses for Sporolithon, and measurements of gametangial and carposporangial conceptacles). Female conceptacles of Spongites fruticulosus KĂŒtzing are for the first time described in fossil material. We propose the attribution of Lithophyllum platticarpum Maslov to Spongites fruticulosus KĂŒtzing as a gametangial thallus with male conceptacles.Cette Ă©tude prĂ©sente dix-sept espĂšces d'algues corallines non articulĂ©es (ordres des Corallinales, des Hapalidiales et des Sporolithales) provenant des calcaires Ă  algues rouges du MiocĂšne moyen (BadĂ©nien infĂ©rieur-moyen) de la Formation GĂąrbova de Sus du Bassin Transylvanien. Pour la description et l'identification au niveau spĂ©cifique, nous adoptons les caractĂ©res diagnostiques habituellement utilisĂ©s chez les espĂšces fossiles et certaines caractĂ©ristiques qui sont considĂ©rĂ©es comme diagnostiques chez les espĂšces modernes (morphologie du toit pour les conceptacles asexuĂ©s, la prĂ©sence ou l'absence d'une couche de cellules allongĂ©es sous les compartiments sporangiaux et le nombre de cellules dans les paraphyses de Sporolithon, et les mesures des conceptacles gamĂ©tangiaux et carposporangiaux). Les conceptacles femelles de Spongites fruticulosus KĂŒtzing sont dĂ©crits pour la premiĂšre fois chez des formes fossiles.     International audienceStarting in 1996 and for almost a decade, M.M. IMAM contributed to twelve papers published in international geological journals. These papers dealt with the micropaleontology and biostratigraphy of Cretaceous to Miocene series from Egypt and Libya. They were abundantly illustrated in order to support the author's findings and interpretations. However most photographic illustrations (189 at least) were fabricated with material lifted from the publications of other authors, commonly from localities or stratigraphic intervals other than those indicated by M.M.
