Simulation and visualization of face seal motion stability by means of computer generated movies
A computer aided design method for mechanical face seals is described. Based on computer simulation, the actual motion of the flexibly mounted element of the seal can be visualized. This is achieved by solving the equations of motion of this element, calculating the displacements in its various degrees of freedom vs. time, and displaying the transient behavior in the form of a motion picture. Incorporating such a method in the design phase allows one to detect instabilities and to correct undesirable behavior of the seal. A theoretical background is presented. Details of the motion display technique are described, and the usefulness of the method is demonstrated by an example of a noncontacting conical face seal
NLTE analysis of spectra: OBA stars
Methods of calculation of NLTE model atmosphere are discussed. The NLTE trace
element procedure is compared with the full NLTE model atmosphere calculation.
Differences between LTE and NLTE atmosphere modeling are evaluated. The ways of
model atom construction are discussed. Finally, modelling of expanding

Fungos endofíticos associados a acículas de Pinus taeda.
O presente trabalho objetivou estudar os fungos endofíticos em acículas de árvores jovens de Pinus taeda L. e avaliar o efeito da posição de coleta na árvore. As amostras foram coletadas em duas alturas (30-50 cm e 100-130 cm acima do solo) e nas quatro posições cardeais (norte, sul, leste e oeste), em plantas com 18 meses de idade, localizadas em Colombo, PR, Brasil. As acículas foram submetidas a assepsia e fragmentos com 10 mm de comprimento foram plaqueados em meio BDA e incubados a 28 °C, sob fotofase de 12 h, por 15 dias. Para a identificação, as estruturas reprodutivas dos fungos foram produzidas pelo método do microcultivo. Foram isolados e identificados dezessete gêneros: Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Colletotrichum, Coniothyrium, Diplodia, Drechslera, Hansfordia, Monocillium, Nodulisporium, Panidio, Papulaspora, Pestalotiopsis, Phialophora, Pithomyces, Rhizoctonia e Xylaria Alguns morfotipos sem identificação foram Mycelia sterilia e fungos demaciáceos. O número de isolados da altura 30-50 cm foi significativamente maior que na outra altura. Não foi observada diferença significativa no número de isolados entre as posições cardeais de uma mesma altura. Diferenças significativas foram observadas entre os gêneros isolados e Xylaria foi o gênero mais frequente
Synthetic spectra of H Balmer and HeI absorption lines. I: Stellar library
We present a grid of synthetic profiles of stellar H Balmer and HeI lines at
optical wavelengths with a sampling of 0.3 A. The grid spans a range of
effective temperature 4000 K < Teff < 50000 K, and gravity 0.0 < log g < 5.0 at
solar metallicity. For Teff > 25000 K, NLTE stellar atmosphere models are
computed using the code TLUSTY (Hubeny 1988). For cooler stars, Kurucz (1993)
LTE models are used to compute thesynthetic spectra. The grid includes the
profiles of the high-order hydrogen Balmer series and HeI lines for effective
temperatures and gravities that have not been previously synthesized. The
behavior of H8 to H13 and HeI 3819 with effective temperature and gravity is
very similar to that of the lower terms of the series (e.g. Hb) and the other
HeI lines at longer wavelengths; therefore, they are suited for the
determination of the atmospheric parameters of stars. These lines are
potentially important to make predictions for these stellar absorption features
in galaxies with active star formation. Evolutionary synthesis models of these
lines for starburst and post-starburst galaxies are presented in a companion

The Territorial Agenda 2030: Towards a common language? A review of a conceptual framework
The Territorial Agenda 2030 aims to provide multi-level strategic orientation to increase cohesion and overcome the 21st century pressing challenges. In multilingual contexts, the ideas and concepts
communicated in such agendas must be clear and well-defined. In our study, we conducted a content
analysis of the concepts of environment, inequality, justice, sustainability, territory and transition in contrast with former versions of this agenda. We found that, since 1983, the Territorial Agenda conceptual

Online problem gambling: a comparison of casino players and sports bettors via predictive modeling using behavioral tracking data
In this study, the differences in behavior between two groups of online gamblers were investigated. The first group comprised individuals who played casino games, and the second group comprised those who bet on sports events. The focal point of the study was on problem gambling, and the objective was to identify and quantify both common and distinct traits that are characteristic to casino and sports problem gamblers. To this end, a set of gamblers from the gaming operator LeoVegas was studied. Each gambler was ascribed two binary variables: one separating casino players from sports bettors, and one indicating whether there was an exclusion related to problem gambling. For each of the four combinations of the two variables, 2500 gamblers were randomly selected for a thorough comparison, resulting in a total of 10,000 participants. The comparison was performed by constructing two predictive models, estimating risk scores using these models, and scrutinizing the risk scores by means of a technique originating from collaborative game theory. The number of cash wagers per active day contributed the most to problem-gambling-related exclusion in the case of sports betting, whereas the volume of money spent contributed the most to this exclusion in the case of casino players. The contribution of the volume of losses per active day was noticeable in the case of both casino players and sports bettors. For casino players, gambling via desktop computers contributed positively to problem-gambling-related exclusion. For sports bettors, it was more concerning when the individual used mobile devices. The number of approved deposits per active day contributed to problem-gambling-related exclusion to a larger extent for sports bettors than casino players. The main conclusion is that the studied explanatory variables contribute differently to problem-gambling-related exclusion among casino players and sports bettors
Re-embedding a 1-Plane Graph into a Straight-line Drawing in Linear Time
Thomassen characterized some 1-plane embedding as the forbidden configuration
such that a given 1-plane embedding of a graph is drawable in straight-lines if
and only if it does not contain the configuration [C. Thomassen, Rectilinear
drawings of graphs, J. Graph Theory, 10(3), 335-341, 1988].
In this paper, we characterize some 1-plane embedding as the forbidden
configuration such that a given 1-plane embedding of a graph can be re-embedded
into a straight-line drawable 1-plane embedding of the same graph if and only
if it does not contain the configuration. Re-embedding of a 1-plane embedding
preserves the same set of pairs of crossing edges.
We give a linear-time algorithm for finding a straight-line drawable 1-plane
