    Developing Students' Ability of Mathematical Connection Through Using Outdoor Mathematics Learning

    The Purpose of this study is to determine the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical connectionability through using outdoor mathematics learning. 64 students from the fifth grade of Primary School at SDN 65 and SDN 67 Bengkulu City were taken as the sample of this study. While the method of the research used in this research is experiment with quasi-experimental designs non-equivalent control group. The results of the study are as follows: (1) There is an increasing ability found in mathematical connection of students whom taught by using outdoors mathematics learning is 0,53; (2) Based on statical computation that achievement of students' ability of mathematical connection is taught by using outdoor mathematics learning score is 71,25. It is higher than the students score 66,25 which were taught by using the conventional learning. So as to improve students' mathematical connection, teachers are suggested to use the outdoors mathematics learnin

    Modeling alpha-nucleus elastic scattering using a velocity-dependent optical potential

    We performed a least-square fit analysis to reproduce the elastic angular distributions for α\alpha scattering on various nuclei form 12^{12}C to 208^{208}Pb for incident energies in the range 18 - 70 MeV using a velocity-dependent potential (VDP). The model reproduced the experimental data well including the enhanced angular distributions in the large angle scattering region, which is commonly known as the anomalous large angle scattering (ALAS). We compared our results to those we obtained by adopting the conventional optical model. The VDP reproduced the measured data better particularly for light nuclei and lower incident energies. The angular momentum dependence of the velocity-dependent potential may have played an important role in describing the enhanced elastic angular distributions for scattering angles greater than 90∘90^\circ. Although the ALAS effect is not present in the case of α\alpha scattering on the heavy 208^{208}Pb nucleus, we included this case to demonstrate the effectiveness of the VDP in describing the angular distributions for α\alpha scattering on various light, intermediate and heavy nuclei.Comment: 21 pages, 5 figure

    Performances Analysis of Exports and Imports of Livestock Commodities in South Sulawesi

    This research aim was to evaluate performance of South Sulawesi Province in the implementation of export and import of livestock commodities using such indicators asthe value of export and import, the share value of export, trade balance and ratio. The study was conducted in the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center Statistics Agency, and the Customs and Excise Duty of Makassarusing a combinaton of interview method and literature review.Research results showed that export import performance has improved as indicated by an increase export volume andvalue of livestock commodities, a decrease import volume and value of livestock commodities.The positive trade balance was an indicator of trade domination of livestock commodities, and fluctuated ratio of trading with a tendency to increase. One aspectthat did not show an improvement compared to other non-oil export value of South Sulawesi was export share of livestock commodities

This study use a quasi-experimental design by the non-equivalent control group. The results are realistics mathematics learning more effectively in the achievement and improvement of self regulated learning student is compared conventional learning. Differences achievement and improvement in both groups is significant. The magnitude of the achievement of self regulated learning student is taught through realistics mathematics learning is 176.85, while self regulated learning student is taught through conventional learning is 172.96. While, the magnitude of the increase in self regulated learning student is taught realistic mathematics learning is 0.1, if it is compared with conventional learning

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Kota Bengkulu melalui Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik lebih efektif dalam pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Besarnya pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang diajar melalui pembelajaran matematika realistik adalah 63,96 dan pembelajaran konvensional adalah 47,46. Sementara itu, besarnya peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang diajar melalui pembelajaran matematika realistik adalah 0,51 dan pembelajaran konvensional 0,24. The purpose of this study is to determine the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical communication ability in Bengkulu City Junior High School through realistic mathematics learning. The method used is a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The results of this study as follows. The realistic mathematics learning is more effective in the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical communication ability than conventional learning. The magnitude of the achievement of students' mathematical communication ability in realistic mathematics learning is 63,96 and conventional learning is 47,46.     PROPORTIONAL EFFECT OF OUTLIERS ON OVER-DISPERSION

    The impact of outlier on analysis of time series data in causing over-dispersion was examined. The problemof overdispersion is central to all General Linear Models (GLM's) having discrete responses. If the estimated dispersion after fitting is not near the expected values, then the data may be over dispersed. One of the causes of overdispersion is outlier. Outlier is a data which is unusual with respect to the group of data in which it is found. In this paper, data were simulated based on poison model using SPSS and first analysed to see whether the estimated parameters is unbiased of the fixed parameters. Thereafter, two different values of outliers, 10's and 20's were introduced to different percentages of the generated data and then analysed using the STATA package to observe the effect of the outliers being introduced on the data for small, moderate and large samples. The data simulated were replicated 300 times for all categories. The averages of the results were computed. The results showed that the higher the percentage of outliers the more the over-dispersion occurs in the models and the larger the sample sizethe less the over-dispersion

    Signal-to-noise ratio of Gaussian-state ghost imaging

    The signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of three Gaussian-state ghost imaging configurations--distinguished by the nature of their light sources--are derived. Two use classical-state light, specifically a joint signal-reference field state that has either the maximum phase-insensitive or the maximum phase-sensitive cross correlation consistent with having a proper PP representation. The third uses nonclassical light, in particular an entangled signal-reference field state with the maximum phase-sensitive cross correlation permitted by quantum mechanics. Analytic SNR expressions are developed for the near-field and far-field regimes, within which simple asymptotic approximations are presented for low-brightness and high-brightness sources. A high-brightness thermal-state (classical phase-insensitive state) source will typically achieve a higher SNR than a biphoton-state (low-brightness, low-flux limit of the entangled-state) source, when all other system parameters are equal for the two systems. With high efficiency photon-number resolving detectors, a low-brightness, high-flux entangled-state source may achieve a higher SNR than that obtained with a high-brightness thermal-state source.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures.     Evaluation of Early Warning Alert and Response System (Ewars) Health Office in Tulang Bawang Lampung Province 2012

    Background: Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) is one of the surveillance tools to determine early the presence warning signals of infectious disease, outbreaks potential. Based on weekly reports in 2012 at Tulang Bawang Health Office, it was showed that the accuracy and completeness of EWARS reports had been the lowest rates among 13 offices in Lampung. In the other hand, it hand not reach the Ministry of Health standard. Method: This research was qualitative research by using evaluating approach. Information was collected through indepth interview to 20 interviewees, observations and documents review. The data analysis was content analysis. Validity test used was sources triangulation, methods and data. Result: EWARS policy had been socialized to all health sub offices. Allocation of fund source was from office budget as limited vouchers. The availability of officers, facilities, infrastructures and technology had not reached standard. Program plan had not been wholly realized. Officers had been trained, but at level of hospitals and clinics had not actively done disease surveillance yet. Data reports were often delayed. Data validation and monitoring had not been optimal. Officers did not complete weekly reports in 2012. Weekly formats were collected every month. Conclusion: The implementation of Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) at Tulang Bawang Health Office Lampung Province was not optimal. Thus, it was recommended to increase the motivation and commitment of officers in reporting data every week
