Baby Skyrmion chains
Previous results on multi-charged Baby Skyrmion solutions have pointed to a
modular structure, comprised of charge two rings and single charge one
Skyrmions, which combine to form higher charged structures. In this paper we
present numerical evidence which shows an alternative finite chain,
multi-charged global energy minimum Baby Skymion solution. We then proceed from
the infinite plane, to Baby Skyrmions on a cylinder and then a torus, to obtain
the solutions of periodic Baby Skyrmions, of which periodic segments will
correspond to sections of large charge Baby Skyrmions in the plane

Extracting the Mass Dependence and Quantum Numbers of Short-Range Correlated Pairs from A(e,e'p) and A(e,e'pp) Scattering
The nuclear mass dependence of the number of short-range correlated (SRC)
proton-proton (pp) and proton-neutron (pn) pairs in nuclei is a sensitive probe
of the dynamics of short-range pairs in the ground state of atomic nuclei. This
work presents an analysis of electroinduced single-proton and two-proton
knockout measurements off 12C, 27Al, 56Fe, and 208Pb in kinematics dominated by
scattering off SRC pairs. The nuclear mass dependence of the observed
A(e,e'pp)/12C(e,e'pp) cross-section ratios and the extracted number of pp- and
pn-SRC pairs are much softer than the mass dependence of the total number of
possible pairs. This is in agreement with a physical picture of SRC affecting
predominantly nucleon-nucleon pairs in a nodeless relative-S state of the
mean-field basis.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
Probing the Repulsive Core of the Nucleon-Nucleon Interaction via the He-4(e,e\u27pN) Triple-Coincidence Reaction
We studied simultaneously the He-4(e,e\u27p), He-4(e,e\u27pp), and He-4(e,e\u27pn) reactions at Q(2) 2(GeV/c)(2) and x(B) \u3e 1, for an (e,e\u27p) missing-momentum range of 400 to 830 MeV/c. The knocked-out proton was detected in coincidence with a proton or neutron recoiling almost back to back to the missing momentum, leaving the residual A = 2 system at low excitation energy. These data were used to identify two-nucleon short-range correlated pairs and to deduce their isospin structure as a function of missing momentum, in a region where the nucleon-nucleon (NN) force is expected to change from predominantly tensor to repulsive. The abundance of neutron- proton pairs is reduced as the nucleon momentum increases beyond similar to 500 MeV/c. The extracted fraction of proton-proton pairs is small and almost independent of the missing momentum. Our data are compared with calculations of two-nucleon momentum distributions in He-4 and discussed in the context of probing the elusive repulsive component of the NN force
Perancangan Video Dokumenter Tentang Wisata Kuliner Ikan Bakar Di Kota Makassar
Modeling Economic Resilience and Animal Disease Outbreaks in the Texas High Plains
Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) could have a significant impact on the U.S. agriculture industry and the welfare of U.S. producers and U.S. consumers. In order to address the potential impact from animal disease outbreaks, this project is designed to utilize a combined epidemic and economic modeling framework to evaluate animal disease management strategies which can be used to reduce the potential losses in an unusual event such as FMD outbreaks.
In this study, we compare the welfare changes among three different parties with different strategies using, 1) ANOVA analysis; 2) cost benefit analysis; and 3) Risk Aversion Coefficient (RAC) analysis. Four types of index feedlots are selected in the study including, Feedlot Type 1 (> 50,000 heads of animals), Feedlot Type 4 (backgrounder feedlot), Large Beef Grazing (>100 heads of animals), and Backyard (<10 heads of animals). Results suggest that early detection of FMD events has the advantage in reducing risk as shown in the epidemiological impacts. Enhanced surveillance is found to be a preferred mitigation strategy for U.S. consumers in the scenario of smaller feedlot disease introductions (e.g. Large Beef Grazing and Backyard) and for U.S. producers in the larger feedlot disease introduction scenarios (e.g. Feedlot Type 1 and Feedlot Type 4). Adequate vaccination is not cost effective when seeking to minimize average loss but becomes a preferred strategy when the risk aversion rises.
Risk modeling with stochastic programming adopted in this study also confirms the importance of incorporating risk evaluation into decision making process. It offers another option for us to evaluate the mitigation strategies. Two portfolio models are adopted in this study including, E-V model (mean variance portfolio choice model) and Unified model. The results show that the preference for control strategies depends on risk attitude. Early detection proves to be preferable for U.S. consumers and is also preferred by U.S. processors and producers as Risk Aversion Parameters (RAP) rises. Adequate vaccination strategy can benefit U.S. consumers but does not give U.S. processors a better outcome. Adequate vaccination provides a better choice for U.S. producers when the RAP rises. Enhanced surveillance is preferred for U.S. consumers. For U.S. processors, enhanced surveillance does not give a better risk/return outcome. U.S. producers are likely to switch their preferences from regular surveillance to enhanced surveillance as their RAP rises
Structural, electronic, and magnetic characteristics of Np_2Co_(17)
A previously unknown neptunium-transition-metal binary compound Np_2Co_(17) has been synthesized and characterized by means of powder x-ray diffraction, ^(237)Np Mössbauer spectroscopy, superconducting-quantum-interference-device magnetometry, and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). The compound crystallizes in a Th_2Ni_(17)-type hexagonal structure with room-temperature lattice parameters α=8.3107(1) Å and c=8.1058(1) Å. Magnetization curves indicate the occurrence of ferromagnetic order below T_C>350 K. Mössbauer spectra suggest a Np^(3+) oxidation state and give an ordered moment of μ_(Np)=1.57(4) μ_B and μ_(Np)=1.63(4) μ_B for the Np atoms located, respectively, at the 2b and 2d crystallographic positions of the P6_3/mmc space group. Combining these values with a sum-rule analysis of the XMCD spectra measured at the neptunium M_(4,5) absorption edges, one obtains the spin and orbital contributions to the site-averaged Np moment [μ_S=−1.88(9) μ_B, μ_L=3.48(9) μ_B]. The ratio between the expectation value of the magnetic-dipole moment and the spin magnetic moment (m_(md)/μS=+1.36) is positive as predicted for localized 5f electrons and lies between the values calculated in intermediate-coupling (IC) and jj approximations. The expectation value of the angular part of the spin-orbit-interaction operator is in excellent agreement with the IC estimate. The ordered moment averaged over the four inequivalent Co sites, as obtained from the saturation value of the magnetization, is μ_(Co)≃1.6 μ_B. The experimental results are discussed against the predictions of first-principles electronic-structure calculations based on the spin-polarized local-spin-density approximation plus the Hubbard interaction
