Friction Unit of a Disc Brake Based on a Combination of Friction Materials

    Get PDF
The design of the disc brake friction unit is proposed, the basis for the creation of which is a combination of friction materials with different properties. As a criterion for the structural formation of a friction unit of a disc brake, it is proposed to use the initial equality of linear wear rates for all brake linings made of friction materials with different properties. It is shown that the use of a friction unit based on combined friction materials makes it possible to achieve new disc brake characteristics, compared to its traditional design. It is concluded that the proposed solution is promising

Radiation of photons in process of charge particle volume reflection in bent single crystal

New type of radiation in crystals is predicted and investigated in computer simulation. It is shown that process of volume reflection of electrons and positrons in bent crystals is accomplished with high-power radiation of photons. Volume reflection radiation has intensity comparable with known channeling radiation, but it is less sensitive to entrance angle and sign of charge of a particle. Simulated spectra of radiation power are presented for 10 GeV and 200GeV particles.Comment: Latex, 8 pages, 4 fig

Towards a combined analysis of inclusive/exclusive electroproduction

In view of the major advances achieved by the CLAS experiments in studying the N* electroexcitation amplitudes, as well as further extension of these studies in the experiments with CLAS12, we present an approach for the evaluation of the resonant contributions to inclusive electron scattering off protons. For the first time, the resonant contributions are determined from the experimental results on N* electrocouplings available from the data analyses of exclusive meson electroproduction off protons. This is a useful benchmark for future endeavours on understanding the transition region between low and high-energy regions, strongly related to tests on quark-hadron duality.Comment: NSTAR2019 conference proceeding

Assessment of Pyrometallurgical Scheme Options of Red Mud and Scale Co-processing

    Get PDF
The analysis of various options for the use of alumina production wastes (red mud) and oiled scale using various methods of agglomeration to produce conditioned commercial iron is presented. Co-processing utilization of red mud and oiled scale allows to obtain raw materials with an iron content of more than 50%, which meets the modern requirements for charge materials for use in the blast furnace process. The calculation analysis carried out using a mathematical model of blast furnace process, allowed to determine the optimal proportion of the iron-containing material for the partial replacement of charge materials without reducing the technical and economic indicators of blast furnace smelting.
