Teaching reading is a way of sharing the knowledge from the teacher to the students through a certain technique or strategy and a certain material in order for the students to master reading itself. This study is aimed to find (1) the English teachersā€™ strategies in teaching reading, (2) the implementation of the English teachersā€™ strategies in teaching reading, and (3) the studentsā€™ perceptions of the English teachersā€™ strategies in teaching reading. The study used a qualitative research design with a descriptive method. The participants were two English teachers and thirty-two students from two classes of the 8th grade in Junior High School 2 of South Cikarang, West Java. The participants were chosen by purposeful sampling. Moreover, the data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation of two meetings, and close-ended questionnaires. The interview was used to find out the English teachersā€™ strategies. Meanwhile, the observation was used to determine the implementation of English teachersā€™ strategies. Last but not least, the questionnaires were used to find out the studentsā€™ perceptions of English teachersā€™ strategies in teaching reading. The research result showed several teachersā€™ strategies adopted from Vacca et al. (2015), Grabe and Stoller (2011), Brown & Lee (2015), and Ikhsan (2017) used by the English teachers, such as defining the reading objective, identifying the material, question and active comprehension, reciprocal question, highlighting strategy, question-answer relationship, rereading, and examining the comprehension. Those strategies were implemented in pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading activity. The teachers implement defining the reading objective strategy in pre-reading activity. Then, the teachers implement identifying the material, question and active comprehension, reciprocal question, and question- answer relationship strategy in while-reading activity. Meanwhile, the teachers implement rereading and examining the comprehension strategy in post-reading activity. The teacher modified the strategies based on the teaching needs and material lessons. It was supported by the studentsā€™ perceptions that they mostly responded to the teachersā€™ strategies positively. They stated that the strategies could make them easy to understand the material. They were more excited about learning reading. The strategies eliminated their boredom and improved their learning achievement. However, the rest of the participants did not always give a positive perception of the English teachersā€™ strategies. To conclude, the English teachersā€™ strategies could be implemented in teaching reading. It depends on the teaching needs, material, and class environment. The teacher should be creative in choosing the appropriate strategy to assist the students in improving their learning achievement in reading

Impact of Evaporation on the Performance of Ant Colony Optimization-Based Routing Protocols on the Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has the characteristics limited computing, memory and energy, so a routing protocol that supports WSN network performance is needed. Routing protocols based Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) are very suitable for use in WSN for routing data packets. In this report, we will try out several kinds of parameter values that bear on the pheromone evaporation (Ļ) on the ACO algorithms applied to the WSN routing protocol with grid topology on the number of nodes variables in the WSN network. Where this can increase the number of delivery packets on a busy WSN network and each node transmits a packet continuously. From the results, the value of Ļ 0.75 makes WSN performance on the grid topology with the number of nodes 12 and 30 very good in terms of the delivery packet, but with the number of nodes 70 the value of Ļ 0.70 makes WSN performance better than the delivery packet side

After the millennium era, the development of information technology has become quite fast, and changes in business patterns have also increased sharply. One of them is in the world of marketing. During the pandemic and post-pandemic times, digital transformation has been carried out, namely digital marketing or marketing products in cyberspace. Community service is one of the right ways to carry out the socialization of information technology in marketing techniques to support economic development. The community service that will be carried out is entitled Utilization of Digital Platforms and Social Media in Marketing Product Creativity for the PKK Desa Batu Rejo Group, to help the PKK Desa Batu to produce products that will be marketed online through digital platforms and social media that are already widely used by people. PKK groups will be guided and trained to be able to manufacture and market their products in the online market, so they can remain productive even from home. The activities carried out in this service are workshops on digital platforms and social media as well as training on their utilization in online marketing of the creative products of the PKK Batu Rejo Village group
