Práce rozebírá základy anatomie a patologie prostaty, možnosti diagnostiky patologických stavů prostaty. Následně proběhla optimalizace a vyhodnocení výstupu. Testování robustnosti se dělo pomocí Ricianovo a Salt and Pepper šumu. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the basic concept of medical image segmentation. The thesis analyzes the fundamentals of prostate anatomy and pathology, as well as the possibilities of diagnosing pathological conditions of the prostate. It also focuses on the principles of magnetic resonance imaging from a physical perspective. This is followed by a description of acquisition sequences and types of artifacts that may occur in magnetic resonance images. The acquisition of knowledge about recent magnetic resonance sequences and segmentation approaches for prostate images was carried out through a literature review. In the practical part, an implementation of a segmentation approach based on the convolutional neural network U-Net was performed. Subsequently, optimization and evaluation of the output were carried out. Robustness testing was performed using Rician and Salt and Pepper noise.450 - Katedra kybernetiky a biomedicínského inženýrstvívelmi dobř

Application of HEC-HMS model and satellite precipitation products to restore runoff in Laigiang river basin in Vietnam

    Get PDF
The Laigiang river basin in the South Central Coast of Vietnam plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Binhdinh Province. In recent decades, the region has experienced commonly flooding in vast areas. This research aims to simulate event-based rainfall-runoff modelling, a historical flood event in December 2016, by applying the HEC-HMS model and rainfall data from CHIRPS. The CHIRPS data is an acceptable potential data input of the hydrology model. These have been confirmed through reliable validation indexes: The peak flood flow rate of 2,542.6 m3/s corresponds to the flood frequency of 5%; NSE with the value at 0.95; R2 coefficient reached 0.87; PBIAS being around 0.45, and PFC being at 0.89. It shows better performance in the rainy season than in the dry season. Inclusive, the CHIRPS rainfall data set and the HEC model could be used for some operational purposes in weather forecasting, especially for flood warnings in river basins in the South Central Coast, Vietnam

VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF CROSS-PLY LAMINATED COMPOSITE DOUBLY CURVED SHALLOW SHELL PANELS WITH STIFFENERS

    Get PDF
In this paper, the analytical solution for the cross-ply laminated composite double curved shell panels with stiffeners is presented. Based on the smeared stiffeners technique and the first shear deformation theory (FSDT), the motion equations are derived by applying the Hamilton’s principle. The Navier’s solution for the simply supported boundary condition for all edges is presented. The numerical results are verified with the known results in the literature. The effects of the number of stiffeners, dimensions of stiffeners, and lamination scheme of cross-ply laminated composite doubly curved shell panels on the natural fundamental frequencies are investigated

Nanosized Minicells Generated by Lactic Acid Bacteria for Drug Delivery

    Get PDF
Nanotechnology has the ability to target specific areas of the body, controlling the drug release and significantly increasing the bioavailability of active compounds. Organic and inorganic nanoparticles have been developed for drug delivery systems. Many delivery systems are through clinical stages for development and market. Minicell, a nanosized cell generated by bacteria, is a potential particle for drug delivery because of its size, safety, and biodegradability. Minicells produced by bacteria could drive therapeutic agents against cancer, microbial infection, and other diseases by targeting. In addition, minicells generated by lactic acid bacteria being probiotics are more interesting than others because of their benefits like safety, immunological improvement, and biodegradation. This review aims to highlight the stages of development of nanoparticle for drug delivery and discuss their advantages and limitations to clarify minicells as a new opportunity for the development of potential nanoparticle for drug delivery

Professional development for ESL lecturers – a struggle to integrate ICT into teaching

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) plays a crucial role in our daily life. In fact, students are considered digital citizens and have become accustomed to being always connected to their devices and the Internet. Given the importance ICT plays in our lives, education institutions nowadays have a duty to incorporate ICT into teaching and learning in order to better prepare students for 21st Century skills and careers. Although certain technological equipment may be available in classrooms, there are several external and internal factors that affect the proper implementation of ICT in classrooms. In preparing students to be career-ready, ICT integration is imperative. This paper will discuss factors affecting ESL lecturers’ professional development in terms of ICT application in the classroom. A total of 61 lecturers from 12 non-English-majored universities in Vietnam voluntarily completed this quantitative study’s survey questionnaire. The findings show that although ESL lecturers are aware of the significance of some factors affecting ICT implementation in classrooms, they are struggling to learn, to adapt, and to integrate ICT into their classrooms

QUALITY OF TRANSMISSION AWARE ROUTING IN AD HOC NETWORKS BASED ON CROSS-LAYER MODEL COMBINED WITH THE STATIC AGENT

    Get PDF
The physical effects happening on the transmission routes in ad hoc networks influence the network performance seriously. These impacts decrease the quality of transmission, especially ad hoc networks with the wide area and high node density. This paper focused on investigating the routing techniques in ad hoc networks taking into account the quality of transmission. Thence, we proposed an improved routing algorithm of DSR based on the cross-layer model in combined with the static agent. The objective of the proposed algorithm is to improve the quality of the transmission signal, reduce the blocking probability of the data packets due to the unguaranteed quality of transmission

SLBQT-DSR: SOURCE-BASED LOAD BALANCING ROUTING ALGORITHM UNDER CONSTRAINTS OF QUALITY OF TRANSMISION FOR MANET

    Get PDF
The routing technique under the constraints of the quality of transmision (QoT) in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) has been studied widely recently. For this routing technique, QoT of the data transmission routes is improved. However, for the network models with mesh topologies such as MANET, The routing technique under the constraints of QoT can increase the bottlenecks due to the unbalanced traffic load. In this paper, we improve the DSR protocol by using the source-based load balancing in combined with the QoT constraint. The simulation results have shown that, the proposed algorithm outperforms the original algorithms in terms of the signal to noise ratio, bit error rate, blocking probability of the data packets and throughput. The routing technique under the constraints of the quality of transmision (QoT) inmobile ad hoc networks (MANET) has been studied widely recently.
