Advances in the Medical and Surgical Management of Intractable Partial Complex Seizures
Seizures can be due to a variety of acute, subacute, or chronic diseases with different etiologies. Clinically, they may manifest as focal or generalized phenomena. Whereas the majority of the patients suffering from partial seizures are easily controlled with medications, in a small number of patients treatment may fail. The failure may be due to incorrect diagnosis or incorrect therapy. The efficacy of medical treatment for seizure disorder depends upon six factors: 1) dosage; 2) the size of the patient; 3) drug interaction; 4) drug specificity for the disease; 5) the nature of the disease for which the drug is used; 6) the mode and frequency of medication
International monetary fund and the group of ten certain legal aspects
In this paper we have first studied the constituent instruments of the Borrowing Scheme and the status of the parties thereto, Next, we have studied internal laws governing two of the parties to the Borrowing Scheme, which are central banks of their respective Countries. Third, we have studied the final clause of Paragraph 3(c) of the borrowing Scheme, to see whether it has obligated the Group of ten to give the force of law to the contents of the Borrowing Scheme in their respective Countries. We have then, in the Forth Chapter, dealt with the actual machinery of the Borrowing Scheme. It is I this Chapter that we shall see how the Borrowing Scheme works in practice, and what are the procedures to be followed, before any “borrowing arrangement” can be worked out. The last Chapter deals with the voting machinery of the Borrowing Scheme. Although in this Chapter an attempt has been made to describe the mechanism of the voting of the Borrowing Scheme, yet the main objective has been the identification of the legal effects which it could bring about
Capital Expenditures Structure, Cost of Capital and Shareholders' Wealth
Financing with reasonable cost, correct usage of capital and preventing the creation of unused resources are the financial management’s most important tasks. Appropriate financing and correct investment in assets leads to sustainable growth in shareholders’ wealth. This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between the capital expenditures structure (CES) and the cost of capital with shareholders’ wealth. Using systematic sampling in a five years period, 186 companies, including the listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange were selected. To analyze data, Partial Least Squares method of Structural Equation Modeling was used. The findings indicated that there is a significant positive relationship between the CES and shareholders’ wealth in total, but some components of the CES are not related to shareholders’ wealth and it is necessary to be studied carefully. Because, understanding the relationship between the CES and shareholders’ wealth is very important to maximize shareholders’ wealth and will be most effective in capital expenditures’ budgeting. Also, there is a significant inverse relationship between the cost of capital and shareholders’ wealth
Unexpected nucleophilic participation and rearrangement of DBU in reactions with saccharin derivatives
DBU attacks saccharin derivatives with subsequent rearrangement to give rise to 3-[3'-(1"-azepin-2"-onyl)propylamino]-1,2-benzisothiazole-1,1-dioxide 2 after work-up
There Are No Odd Perfect Numbers
While even perfect numbers are completely characterized, the existence or
otherwise of odd perfect numbers is an open problem. We address that problem
and prove that if a natural number is odd, then it's not perfect
