    This report is the joint work with the Japanese martial artist,Yoshinori Kono, from point of view the education of "body-transforming". Hirota has participated in Kono' s martial arts lesson and continued interchanging of the thoughts about body.     Real-Time Observation of Hydrogen Peroxide Transport through the Oil Phase in a W/O/W Double Emulsion with Chemiluminescence Emission

    The evaluation of the transport rates of hydrophilic substances is important in agricultural and pharmaceutical chemistry and in the cosmetics and food-processing industries. Although there are some estimation methods focusing on the diffusion of the substances through the oil phase of the W/O/W core-shell double emulsions (oil microcapsules), all of them take several hours or days. This long-time measurement has a risk of rupture of the oil microcapsules, which causes significant errors. If it were possible to measure the transport rate of substances in the oil phase of the oil microcapsules in real time, the risk of rupture could be reduced. Here, we propose a new estimation method for the transport rates of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the oil phase of an oil microcapsule for real-time estimation by means of chemiluminescence (CL) emission of the luminol reaction. We theoretically give the relationship among the CL emission intensity, diffusion coefficient, microcapsule size, and experimental time and successfully estimate the diffusion coefficient of H2O2 in the oil phase of the oil microcapsule from the experimental data. Moreover, we discuss the dependence of the permeation of H2O2 through the oil phase on the concentration of the oil-soluble surfactant; the difference in the permeation rate is likely to be attributed not to the diffusion coefficient but to the partition coefficient of H2O2 in the oil microcapsule.Hiroshi Kouno, Yosuke Iwai, Yoshiaki Uchida et al.     Significant association between high serum CCL5 levels and better disease‐free survival of patients with early breast cancer

    Analysis of anticancer immunity aids in assessing the prognosis of patients with breast cancer. From 250 operated breast cancers, we focused on serum levels of C-C motif chemokine ligand 5 (CCL5), which is involved in cancer immune reactions. Serum levels of CCL5 were measured using a cytometric bead-based immunoassay kit and CCL5 expression in cancer cells was determined using immunohistochemical staining. In addition, mRNA in cancer and stromal cells was analyzed by microdissection and comparison with the public dataset. Disease-free survival (DFS) of patients with high CCL5 levels (cut-off, 13.87 ng/mL; n = 192) was significantly better than those with low CCL5 levels (n = 58; hazard ratio, 0.20; 95% confidence interval, 0.10- 0.39; P < .0001). An improved overall survival was observed in patients with high CCL5 levels compared to those with low CCL5 levels (P = .024). On the contrary, high immunohistochemical expression of CCL5 in cancer cells was significantly associated with decreased DFS. As serum CCL5 levels did not correlate with CCL5 expression in cancer cells and the relative expression of mRNA CCL5 was elevated in stromal cells in relation to cancer cells, serum CCL5 might be derived not from cancer cells, but from stromal cells. Expression of CCL5 in serum, but not in cancer cells, might contribute to improved patient prognosis mediating through not only immune reaction, but through other mechanisms.     We found that one strain of dengue virus (Trinidad 1751; TR) did not respond to the PCR primer for Jamaica/83. We investigated such property with other 10 strains of dengue virus type 2 and found 2 more unresponsive strains. All 3 strains were isolated from the central America. To detect the envelope gene of those 3 strains by PCR, we synthesized primers based on TR strain as the reference sequence. Using these primers, we could detect the 3 strains by PCR at the usual annealing temperature. We recommed the new primer for diagnosis of DEN 2

    Mobile monitoring along a street canyon and stationary forest air monitoring of formaldehyde by means of a micro gas analysis system

    A micro-gas analysis system (μGAS) was developed for mobile monitoring and continuous measurements of atmospheric HCHO. HCHO gas was trapped into an absorbing/reaction solution continuously using a microchannel scrubber in which the microchannels were patterned in a honeycomb structure to form a wide absorbing area with a thin absorbing solution layer. Fluorescence was monitored after reaction of the collected HCHO with 2,4-pentanedione (PD) in the presence of acetic acid/ammonium acetate. The system was portable, battery-driven, highly sensitive (limit of detection = 0.01 ppbv) and had good time resolution (response time 50 s). The results revealed that the PD chemistry was subject to interference from O3. The mechanism of this interference was investigated and the problem was addressed by incorporating a wet denuder. Mobile monitoring was performed along traffic roads, and elevated HCHO levels in a street canyon were evident upon mapping of the obtained data. The system was also applied to stationary monitoring in a forest in which HCHO formed naturally via reaction of biogenic compounds with oxidants. Concentrations of a few ppbv-HCHO and several-tens of ppbv of O3 were then simultaneously monitored with the μGAS in forest air monitoring campaigns. The obtained 1 h average data were compared with those obtained by 1 h impinger collection and offsite GC-MS analysis after derivatization with o-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl)hydroxylamine (PFBOA). From the obtained data in the forest, daily variations of chemical HCHO production and loss are discussed
