A Modern Educationalist in I. Constitutionalism Period: Münif Pasha
Münif Pasha was a distinguised stateman and a scientist. While he was studing in “Mederese”, he had the chance of studing Western education. He had worked as a Minister of National education three times and as a minister of Commerse for some time. Later he worked in Germany as a diplomat and in Persia as an ambassador. He tougt students in the School of Law and he wrote various article on Humanities and Social sciences in a periodical called “Mecmua-i Fünun”. One of his noteworhty articles was titled as “ Ehemmiyet-i Terbiye-i Sıbyan” ( The Importance of Child Education). In this article, Münif Pasha wrote about basic issues such as the impotance of compulsory primary education, teaching language and mathematics, industrialization, improvement of tecahing merthods, vocational education, teacher training and improvements to be made in National Education System.
