Coupling of and with a strongly interacting Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Sector
We report the coupling of an external or state to a
strongly interacting EWSBS satisfying unitarity. We exploit perturbation theory
for those coupling of the external state, whereas the EWSBS is taken as
strongly interacting. We use a modified version of the IAM unitarization
procedure to model such a strongly interacting regime. The matrix elements
, , ,
, and
are all computed to NLO in
perturbation theory with the Nonlinear Effective Field Theory of the EWSBS,
within the Equivalence Theorem. This allows us to describe resonances of the
electroweak sector that may be found at the LHC and their effect on other
channels such as or where they may be discovered.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures. Contributions to the Procs. of the XIIth Quark

Sensitivity to Triple Higgs Couplings via Di-Higgs Production in the 2HDM at e+e- Colliders
An important task at future colliders is the investigation of the Higgs-boson
sector. Here the measurement of the triple Higgs coupling(s) plays a special
role. Based on previous analyses, within the framework of Two Higgs Doublet
Models (2HDM) type~I and~II, we define and analyze several two-dimensional
benchmark planes, that are over large parts in agreement with all theoretical
and experimental constraints. For these planes we evaluate di-Higgs production
cross sections at future high-energy colliders, such as ILC or CLIC.
We consider two different channels for the neutral di-Higgs pairs : and .
In both channels the various triple Higgs-boson couplings contribute
substantially. We find regions with a strong enhancement of the production
channel of two SM-like light Higgs bosons and/or with very large production
cross sections involving one light and one heavy or two heavy 2HDM Higgs
bosons, offering interesting prospects for the ILC or CLIC. The mechanisms
leading to these enhanced production cross sections are analyzed in detail. We
propose the use of cross section distributions with the invariant mass of the
two final Higgs bosons where the contributions from intermediate resonant and
non-resonant BSM Higgs bosons play a crucial role. We outline which process at
which center-of-mass energy would be best suited to probe the corresponding
triple Higgs-boson couplings.Comment: 57 pages, 29 figures, lots of plot
Spin Foam Models of Riemannian Quantum Gravity
Using numerical calculations, we compare three versions of the Barrett-Crane
model of 4-dimensional Riemannian quantum gravity. In the version with face and
edge amplitudes as described by De Pietri, Freidel, Krasnov, and Rovelli, we
show the partition function diverges very rapidly for many triangulated
4-manifolds. In the version with modified face and edge amplitudes due to Perez
and Rovelli, we show the partition function converges so rapidly that the sum
is dominated by spin foams where all the spins labelling faces are zero except
for small, widely separated islands of higher spin. We also describe a new
version which appears to have a convergent partition function without drastic
spin-zero dominance. Finally, after a general discussion of how to extract
physics from spin foam models, we discuss the implications of convergence or
divergence of the partition function for other aspects of a spin foam model.Comment: 23 pages LaTeX; this version to appear in Classical and Quantum

Collusion in Board of Directors
There is a large literature on the composition of the boards as well as the monitoring role and the advisory role of the boards. Nevertheless, the problem of collusion between the CEO and the board has receive little attention. The aim of this paper is to study collusive aspects of the board of directors. Our paper sheds light on the problem of composition of the board of directors. We study what is the optimal composition of the board of directors in particular if it is preferable to have a insider-oriented board or a outsider-oriented board with a majority of independent directors. We consider that a board of independent directors that are all chosen directly by the CEO is a friendly board if the independent directors follow the decision of the CEO. We study the case of collusion considering a CEO facing a choice of projects. We propose a model where we have di¤erent projects each with a certain level of risk. The choice of the best project for the company is function of remuneration of the CEO as well as the private benefits of the CEO
