Towards Social Change: Social Transformation in a Time of Social Disruption

This paper discusses the deepening of the current capitalist crisis in practical/theoretical groundings; its overcoming is not simply a theoretical but a concrete question. While the US-capitalism becomes more aggressive, its theoretical apprehension has been historically suppressed and substituted by more unifying discourses. A new paradigm arises: political left and right have merged. The political programs of the last decades were caught off guarded and cannot offer concrete, satisfying answers to real, social demands. A “PEÇA DO CHICO” QUE “ELA” INTERPRETOU: AS MEMÓRIAS VIVAS DOS ESPECTADORES DA PEÇA GOTA D’ÁGUA (1975-1980)

Este artigo pretende discutir os dados coletados em entrevistas temáticas como público consumidor do texto teatral Gota D'Água, visando a compreender traços damemória social contemporânea sobre os espetáculos realizados entre 1975 e 1980. Comparando as entrevistas entre si e com fontes de outras naturezas, foi possível identificar as formas de apropriação individuais do texto, suas áreas de interseção e as referências sociais com as quais dialogaram as memórias individuais dos espectadores. Faz-se, ainda, uma análise vertical das três categorias de lembranças mais presentes nas narrativas orais. Por um lado, a expectativa de assistir a uma peça de Chico Buarque e a interpretação de Bibi Ferreira no papel de protagonista do espetáculo, apropriações que produziram um esquecimento social sobre a presença de outros sujeitos sociais envolvidos na produção do espetáculo e uma releitura do texto que relativizam os significados políticos explícitos em sua modalidade escrita. Por outro, as recordações relativas ao cenário, que são responsáveis pela permanência, na memória coletiva, de um sentido político do texto encenado, relacionado às representações do povo e da desigualdade social

Is Link-Layer Anycast Scheduling Relevant for IEEE802.15.4-TSCH Networks?

International audienceWith the wide adoption of low-power wireless transmissions , industrial networks have started to incorporate wireless devices in their communication infrastructure. Specifically, IEEE802.15.4-TSCH enables slow channel hopping to increase the robustness, and relies on a strict schedule of the transmissions to increase the energy efficiency. Anycast is a link-layer technique to improve the reliability when using lossy links. Several receivers are associated to a single transmission. That way, a transmission is considered erroneous when none of the receivers was able to decode and acknowledge it. Appropriately exploited by the routing layer, we can also increase the fault-tolerance. However, most of the anycast schemes have been evaluated by simulations, for a sake of simplicity. Besides, most evaluation models assume that packet drops are independent events, which may not be the case for packet drops due to e.g. external interference. Here, we use a large dataset obtained through an indoor testbed to assess the gain of using anycast in real conditions. We also propose a strategy to select the set of forwarding nodes: they must increase the reliability by providing the most independent packet losses. We demonstrate using our experimental dataset that anycast improves really the performance, but only when respecting a set of rules to select the next hops in the routing layer

Jóias da lua em alumínio

O projeto “Jóias da Lua em Alumínio” baseou-se na joalheria contemporânea, que visa o uso de materiais diferentes dos utilizados na joalheria convencional, como o ouro, prata e platina. Sintetizando que o valor da jóia não se dá somente pelo tipo de material empregado e sim pelo seu significado e seu valor estético. Utilizou-se então o alumínio como material na confecção das jóias que são capazes de ser produzidas, também em escala industrial. As jóias foram inspiradas na Lua e suas fases, com suas representações e seus aspectos físicos. Baseado nisso foi desenvolvida uma coleção composta por seis peças: um colar, um bracelete, um par de brincos, dois anéis e um adorno para cabeça
