Leimstoll/Stormer Collaborative Recommender Systems Keywords COLLABORATIVE RECOMMENDER SYSTEMS
Recommender systems are often used in electronic shops in order to suggest similar or related products, potentially interesting products for a given customer or a set of products for a marketing campaign. Most recommender systems use the collaborative filtering method in order to provide the personalization information. The collaborative filtering method is a very efficient and convenient way of achieving personalization as there is no need to introduce semantic information about the products or to manually link products and users together. In the last years, a number of optimizations for collaborative filtering techniques have been developed. This paper collects the ideas and shows which of them could be integrated successfully in order to optimize a collaborative recommender system for online shops
Integrating Context Information in aMobile Environment using the eSana Framework
Abstract: Mobile devices are becoming ubiquitous in everyday’s life, their popularity and place independence are reasons for using these devices in different areas. One such area is electronic health, where patients can install small applications on their mobile devices that help or guide them in certain situations. The eSana framework offers a set of tools and approaches that allowthe transmission of discrete physiological values electronically in order to evaluate them by medical experts. This paper presents an extension to this framework that includes the use of contextual information to improve eSana. The use case “Find nearby pharmacy ” will illustrate asimple application that uses context information to guide the patient to the best pharmacy within his range. Asecond use case will enrich the existing idea of transmitting physiological parameters with context information. 1 Mobile devices in eHealth Avery large percentage of the European population owns amobile phone. Their ubiquity, connectivity and increasing features are reasons for using them in the electronic health sector
