The Hungarian Religious Leaders\u27 Statements on the Migration from 2016 and 2017

This paper is about the statements of Hungarian religious leaders concerning the issue of migration. The article is a continuation of a previous study in which we summarized articles and opinions published in the period from 2015 to the beginning of 2016. The statements that have been made since then are contained in this article. Different opinions can be found from the leaders of the Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and Calvinist churches, Jewish and Islamic leaders, and the Congregation of Faith and the Evangelical Brotherhood of Hungary. In addition to migration issues, cultural, ethnic, religious and moral differences and questions arise throughout the study

Searching for the Rail Bonus

The inherent superiority of rail-based public transport options over bus-based alternatives, all other things being equal, has been stipulated in the literature and in the public policy discussion for some time. The exact strength of any such rail bonus is important to a public transport operator which has to consider the replacement of rail-based services by bus services. The public transport operator of the city of Dresden (DVB), while generally upgrading its services, has to consider this option, in particular where the continuing tram operation would require a costly rehabilitation of the tracks. The measurement of any such systematic preference for rail-based modes is difficult, as is requires either a before-and-after study of such a switch, controlled for the other relevant service attributes, e.g. frequency, speed, reliability, price, route, etc., or a study of a network, in which rail- and road-based modes offer comparable types of services, with bus services inparticular not restricted to feeder services to rail/tram lines. Both are rare for obvious reasons. A recent service change of the DVB offered the opportunity to look at the issue in detail. A series of surveys were undertaken for this purpose before and after: A one-day travel diary (including a household questionnaire)  A survey of the image of the services A between-mode stated preference exercise focusing on the choice between public transport and private motorised transport where public transport was provided by either bus or tram (7 choice situations) A within-mode stated preference exercise looking at the trade-offs between public transport modes, in particular levels of comfort, travel times and transfers (7 choice situations). The paper reports detailed results from this study addressing the differences in preferences between the waves (effects of familiarity with an alternative) from both separate and joint stated preference and stated preference/revealed preference models. The modelling so far indicates a consistent, but weak preference for the rail option through a higher value-of-time for rail usage, higher valuation of new rail vehicles in comparison to new busses, although they are partially balanced by a higher transfer penalty. &nbsp

Lebenszufriedenheit in Westdeutschland: Eine Querschnittsanalyse mit den Daten des Sozio-oekonomischen Panels

Hintergrund: Die Zufriedenheit mit dem Leben ist in der heutigen Gesellschaft ein bedeutender Aspekt geworden und nahezu jeder Mensch strebt danach. Eine Vielzahl an Determinanten, wie Gesundheit, Wohlbefinden, Lebensqualität etc. sind mit der Lebenszufriedenheit verbunden und beeinflussen dieses Konstrukt. Die Wissenschaft hat sich diese Thematik zu nutze gemacht und nähert sich der Lebenszufriedenheit aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven an. Ziel: Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, welche Determinanten die Lebenszufriedenheit in Westdeutschland im Jahr 2008 beeinflussen. Dazu gliedert sich die Untersuchung in drei zentrale Zielstellungen. Einerseits sollten Faktoren bestimmt werden, die die Lebenszufriedenheit in Westdeutschland beeinflussen. Des Weiteren sollte betrachtet werden, ob sich Menschen mit einer hohen Zufriedenheit häufiger glücklich gefühlt haben. Drittens wurde untersucht, ob die physische oder psychische Gesundheit einen stärkeren Einfluss auf die Lebenszufriedenheit hat. Methodik: Als Datengrundlage dient das Sozio-oekonomische Panel (SOEP). Es wurden Daten der 4480 Teilnehmer der Stichprobe für Westdeutschland aus dem Jahr 2008 genutzt. Es wurde das Design einer Querschnittsstudie gewählt. Für die Auswertung wurden zwei Modelle der binären logistischen Regressionsanalyse durchgeführt. Um die statistische Signifikanz der Baseline Characteristica zu prüfen wurden der T-Test und Chi-Quadrat-Homogenitätstests durchgeführt. Ergebnisse: Die Ergebnisse der vorliegenden Untersuchung zeigen einen starken Einfluss des Gesundheitszustandes auf die Lebenszufriedenheit. Des Weiteren beeinflusst der Erwerbsstatus die Zufriedenheit mit dem Leben. Hinsichtlich des Gesundheitszustandes kann keine eindeutige Aussage erfolgen, ob die physische oder psychische Dimension einen stärkeren Einfluss auf die Lebenszufriedenheit hat. Schlussfolgerung: Die Studie zeigt, dass in Westdeutschland eine hohe Lebenszufriedenheit angegeben wird und von einigen Faktoren abhängig ist

Gaussian Process Prior Models for Electrical Load Forecasting

This paper examines models based on Gaussian Process (GP) priors for electrical load forecasting. This methodology is seen to encompass a number of popular forecasting methods, such as Basic Structural Models (BSMs) and Seasonal Auto-Regressive Intergrated (SARI) as special cases. The GP forecasting models are shown to have some desirable properties and their performance is examined on weekly and yearly Irish load data

Measures of workplace health promotion to office workplaces for reduction of task-related pressures

In dieser Arbeit liegt das Forschungsinteresse auf der Frage, ob Maßnahmen der Betrieblichen Gesundheitsförderung helfen können, aufgabenbezogene Belastungen an Büroarbeitsplätzen zu reduzieren. Intention der Autorin ist es, Unternehmen dafür geeignete Angebote aufzuzeigen und deren Wirksamkeit durch die Verwendung von Sekundäranalysedaten darzustellen. Daneben werden die Auswirkungen von Stress auf den Organismus dargestellt und Stressoren sowie Ressourcen am Arbeitsplatz aufgedeckt. Der Leser erhält zusätzlich einen Überblick über Instrumente zur Erfassung psychischer Belastungen im Betrieb. Die Arbeit zeigt, dass bereits einige kleine Veränderungen im Unternehmen helfen, aufgabenbezogene Belastungen an Büroarbeitsplätzen zu reduzieren und somit die Gesundheit der Mitarbeiter verbessern

80 százalékban elkészült Boethius Institutio Musica című kézikönyvének magyar fordítása. Monográfia és tanulmányok készültek és jelentek meg Lactantius dualista teológiájáról, teodiceájáról. Tanulmány készült és jelent meg, egy másik pedig készülőben van Szent Ágoston akaratfelfogásáról és kegyelemtanáról. Egy tanulmány készült és látott napvilágot a patrisztikus filozófiára vonatkozó kutatásokról a hetvenes években. Megjelenés előttt áll egy tanulmánykötet Kendeffy Gábor és Heidl György szerkesztésében a patrisztikus teremtésfelfogásról és bibliamagyarázatról. Tanulmányok készültek és jelentek meg a gnosztikus kozmogóniáról és annak forrásairól, a démiurgosz alakról a Nag Hammadi iratokban, a gnoszticizmus kutatástörténetéről. Két tanulmány készült és áll megjelenés előtt Aquileiai Szent Chromatius munkásságáról és a püspök Máté-kommentárjában alkalmazott egzegetikai eszközökről. | A Hungarian translation of the greatest part of Boethius’Institutio Musica has been made. A monography and papers have reached completion on Lactantius’dualistic theology and his teodicy. An essay has been written and another is under preparation on Saint Augustine’s conception of God and his doctrine of grace. A further minor publication is related to the history of Patristic researches in Hungary. A collection of essays edited by G. Kendeffy and Gy. Heidl on the cosmological and exegetical ideas of the Church Fathers is forthcoming. Essays have been published and are forthcoming on Gnostic cosmogony (especially on the figure of Demmurge) in some Nag Hammadi writings and on the potential sources of Gnostic cosmological conceptions. Papers dealing with the history of Hungarian and international Gnostic studies have been also completed and published. An essay has been been completed and is forthcoming on the ecclesiastic and literary activity of Saint Chromatius of Aquieia, and an other dealing with the exegetical methods followed in his Commentary on Matthew is also accepted for publication

A legfontosabb eredmények 2006-ban Poetovioi Victorinus Jelenések-kommentárjának fordítása és kiadása. 2007-ben magyar és angol nyelvű tanulmányok publikálása, 2008-ban, Órigenész Kelszosz ellen c. művének fordítása és kiadása, 2009-ben nemzetközi jelentőségű eredmény a IX. nemzetközi Órigenész-konferencia kötetének szerkesztése (Heidl Gy. és Somos R.) és megjelenése volt a leuven-i Peeters kiadónál. A nemzetközi szakmai fórumokon hat angol nyelvű tanulmánnyal jelentkeztünk, és tíz magyar nyelvű tanulmányt is publikáltunk. Jelentős fordítói és szerkesztői munka eredményeképpen lezártuk Ágoston De civitate Dei c. munkájának magyar kiadását, és összeállítottunk egy egzegetikai tárgyú tanulmány-gyűjteményt, amelynek tördelési munkálatai folynak. | The most important result of the research is considered to be the appearance the Commentary on Revelations by Victorinus of Poetovio (2006); papers published in English and Hungarian (2007); translation of Origen's C. Celsum (2008); the appearance of Origeniana Nona in Peeters Publisher (edited by G. Heidl and R. Somos). We have published six papers in English and ten in Hungarian. The Hungarian translation of Augustine's De civitate Dei has been finished. We collected and edited a volume containing papers devoted to exegetical problems in the early Christianity. This book is to be published in the next year
