Robust multi-dimensional trust computing mechanism for cloud computing

Cloud computing has become the most promising way of purchasing computing resources over the Internet.The main advantage of .cloud computing is its economic advantages over the traditional computing resource provisioning.For cloud computing to become acceptable to wider audience, it is necessary to maintain the quality of service (QoS) commitments specified in the service level agreement.In this paper, the authors propose a robust multi-level trust computing mechanism that can be used to track the performance of cloud systems using multiple QoS attributes.In addition, tests carried out show that the proposed mechanism is more robust than the ones published in the literature

Obstacles Facing the Development of MIS in the River Nile State (RNS) Public Sector – Sudan

This study investigated and identified the obstacles facing the development of MIS in the RNS. In addition, it checks out the existence, importance and the employment of MIS in the RNS. The study applied the descriptive research design of survey type. Data were collected from a sample of 221 reflects the employees in some RNS ministries holding different job positions using stratified random sampling technique. Data collected were analyzed using frequencies count, percentages and chi square test statistics. The study revealed that MIS was not adequately employed in the RNS institutions. Therefore, it confirmed that MIS was very important to improve the management performance. The study showed that MIS was not adequately used for formulating policies and strategies in the state institutions. The study identified several obstacles facing the development of MIS in the RNS. It was recommended that proper orientation should be given to MIS development in the state. Also, training programs should be organized to ensure proper and adequate employment of MIS in generating and disseminating information. Furthermore, the RNS government should set up unified information technology policy to enable all the state institutions to obtain information required with in specific standards and criteria. Clinical and echocardiographic features of children with rheumatic heart disease and their serum cytokine profile

Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) constitute important public health problems in developing countries. Children with ARF and RHD seen at Children’s Hospital-Sudan from May 2008-2009 were examined clinically and by echocardiography. Blood cytokines (interleukin 10 (IL10), Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF- alpha) and interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) were done. Thirty six children were enrolled; 63% had established RHD, and 37% ARF. Mitral regurgitation (MR) was the most common lesion (94%).Ninety five percent of the valve lesions were severe. The serum interleukin IL10 level ranged between 3-6 pg/ml. TNF alpha levels were 9- 100 pg/ml in 12 patients (40%), 101-1000 pg/ml in 10 patients (33%) , more than 1000 in 8 patients (26%). The level of IFN gamma ranged between 2-7 pg/m in all patients except 2 (84 and 135 pg/ml). RHD is manifested with severe valvular lesions and a high TNF alpha indicating and ongoing inflammation.Pan African Medical Journal 2012; 13:3

Non-adherence to Antihypertensive Medication and Its Associated Factors Among Cardiac Patients at Alshaab Referred Clinic, November 2017

Background: Non-adherence to antihypertensive drugs is identified to have negative impact on cardiovascular outcome. Various studies have been conducted on this issue worldwide but data about medications adherence and its associated factors in Sudan are limited. Objectives: The objectives of this study are to identify the prevalence and factors associated with non-adherence to antihypertensive medications among cardiac patients in Sudan. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 202 patients by total coverage of all diagnosed hypertensive patients with cardiac disease who attended the referred clinic at Alshaab teaching hospital during the study period from November 5th to December 7th, 2017. Data were collected by direct interview of the patients using structured questionnaire, clinical characteristics of the patients were obtained from the medical records, WISEWOMAN medications adherence questionnaire for hypertension was used to assess the level of medication adherence. Descriptive and multivariate logistic regression was used for data analysis, using SPSS version 20. Results: Out of 202 participants, 140 (69.3%) were female, the mean age of the participants was 60.74 ± 13.6. The study revealed that 41.6% of the patients were nonadherent to their antihypertensive medications, the level of non-adherence was found to be significantly associated with young age (p-value < 0.012), high level of education (p-value < 0.05), and using more than one pharmacy to get the medications (p-value < 0.00); after logistic regression analysis, non-adherence was found to be significantly associated with using more than one pharmacy to get the medications (p-value < 0.00). The level of non-adherence in our study is found to be corresponding to the findings of other similar local, regional, and international studies, which have reported that non-adherence of medication ranged between 39.5% and 55.9%. Other factors in different studies were found to be significantly associated with non-adherence such as gender, duration of hypertension, duration between follow-up visits to physician and number of drugs

Honey bee based trust management system for cloud computing

Cloud computing has been considered as the new computing paradigm that would offer computer resources over the Internet as service.With the widespread use of cloud, computing would become another utility similar to electricity, water, gas and telephony where the customer would be paying only for the services consumed contrary to the current practice of paying a monthly or annual fixed charge irrespective of use.For cloud computing to become accepted by everybody, several issues need to be resolved.One of the most important issues to be addressed is cloud security.Trust management is one of the important components of cloud security that requires special attention. In this paper, the authors propose the concept that honey bee algorithm which has been developed to solve complex optimization problems can be successfully used to address this issue.The authors have taken a closer look at the optimization problems that had been solved using the honey bee algorithm and the similarity between these problems and the cloud computing environment.Thus concluding that the honey bee algorithm could be successfully used to solve the trust management issue in cloud computing
