Learning outcomes are statements on what students should know, understand and can do upon successful completion of a course. Achievement of the learning outcomes is an important criterion for a programme to be awarded with an accreditation qualification by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Evidence from teaching and learning evaluation needs to be justified to demonstrate that the learning outcomes have been achieved. In line with this direction, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the learning outcomes of final year master’s project according to course learning outcome and learning domain determined by MQA. This evaluation is carried out by analysing supervisor’s feedback on their supervised student and student feedback themselves. The survey instruments were administered for postgraduate learners in the academic session of 2018, measuring to what extent that course completion has met the learning outcomes and fulfil the learning domain skills required. To strengthen the evidence, result obtained from master’s project report awarded by supervisors and reviewers were compared according to report chapters, programme and learning outcomes perceived. The findings were discussed to highlight the concern, strength and weakness from the evaluation made. Several recommendations for continuous improvement and support were proposed to influence the quality of the course and achievement of the learning outcomes

Communication privacy management in Social Network Sites: the influence of parental involvement and social on information disclosure

The trend of research in Social Network Sites have focused on privacy disclosure and its effect on motivation and security . Nevertheless, privacy disclosure needs further attention to address adolescence well being and positive behavior. This study seeks to investigate factors related to parental involvement and social influence on privacy disclosure that influence adolescences' well being. Underpinning the framework of Petronio‘s theory of Privacy Management, the study extended the factors of culture, social and motivation to explain the behavior of privacy disclosure. Using Structural Equation modeling analysis, this study estimated the relationships of privacy management influential factors and well being. The implications of the study included the intervention of parents, schools and universities to educate students formally and informally

Price Linkages within Selected Vegetable Markets in Malaysia

    Get PDF
This study examined the nature of price linkages in farm, wholesale and retail markets of eleven selected Malaysian vegetables, and focused on the lead-lag relationship in vertical level within the selected markets. The statistical tests used for the causality and lead and lag relationship were based on methods developed by Granger, Haugh and Pearce. Findings indicate that price discovery is made at the wholesale centre and whole sale price appears to lead both farm and retail prices for most of the vegetables examined

Measuring Knowledge for Visual Basic's Student

    Get PDF
Knowledge is so valuable and that's why it is significant to find a measurement in measuring the knowledge, so the value of knowledge been gain can be amounted and easy to describe. As much research been done in measuring knowledge field, especially the organization knowledge, this project objective is to find out student knowledge performance and activities through a forum in order to find what characteristics required in creating technique of measuring student knowledge for Visual Basic's student. In completing this project, the methodology that been used is quite similar to a Waterfall Model, but some part have been changes to suit the timeline and information been gather. The findings from this studyhighlight an appropriate metrics used to get result in measuring student knowledge in Visual Basic by using Brand Equity and Probability as indicators in measuring. The final result in this measuring technique is valued between 0 until 1

Changes in free amino acid, peptide-N, sugar and pyrazine concentration during cocoa fermentation

The free amino acids, peptide-N, reducing sugars (the flavour precursors in cocoa) and pyrazine profiles of mix hybrid cocoa beans fermented in a rotary drum reactor were monitored over a period of 6 days. As fermentation progressed, the acidic free amino acid concentration decreased significantly (P<0·05) by 15%, whereas total, hydrophobic and other free amino acids increased significantly by 148, 280 and 127%, respectively. In terms of hydrophobic/acidic/other free amino acids ratio, the unfermented cocoa beans contained 30%:18%: 52%, whereas those of fermented beans contained 46%: 6%: 48%. Concentrations of peptide-N and total reducing sugars were significantly (P<0·05) increased by 55 and 208%, respectively during fermentation; however, those of sucrose and total sugars decreased significantly (P<0·05) by 89% and 75%, respectively. The unfermented cocoa beans contained no pyrazine; however during fermentation, the 2-methyl-, 2,5-dimethyl-, 2,6-dimethyl-, 2,3-dimethyl-, trimethyl- and tetramethylpyrazine were formed. The two principle pyrazines were tetramethyl- (2099·30 μg kg−1) and trimethylpyrazine (692·00 μg kg−1)

Chemical and thermal properties of pure lignin are depending on the plant origin, extraction method and type of lignocellulosic. In this study, lignin from oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) and kenaf core were recovered from soda black liquor by two steps of acid precipitation with hydrochloric acid and followed by soxhlet with n-hexane. The XRD analysis of purified EFB lignin (EAL) and purified kenaf core lignin (KAL) exhibited amorphous properties, similar to the standard alkali lignin (SAL). The FTIR and Raman spectra showed that all samples consist of HGS unit. In FTIR, the syringyl unit is assigned at (1125 cm-1), (1327 and 1121 cm-1) and (1326 and 1117 cm-1) meanwhile the guaicyl unit is assigned at (1263, 1212 and 1028 cm-1), (1271, 1217 and 1028 cm-1) and (1270, 1211 and 1030 cm-1) for SAL, EAL and KAL, respectively. The peak around 1160 cm-1 represents C-O stretching of conjugated ester group present in HGS lignin. As for Raman, the HGS unit exists in the range of 1100-1400 cm-1. Among the purified samples, the TGA result showed that KAL has a better thermal stability with the residue of 36.49% and higher Tg value which is 152.69°C

This paper describes the socio-psychological issues that hinder the holistic usage of ERP system among sampled Malaysian SME’s that were the vendors through government outsourced projects. Five hundred questionnaires were sent to the pre-identified SMEs in Selangor through e-mail, 251 questionnaires were returned and only 110 were taken for data analysis, representing 44% of the response rate. The study found that the perceived benefits and social influence have positive significant relationship with the ERP system usage. The social influence has the strongest effect towards the ERP system usage among SMEs in Selangor. The system complexity does not influence the relationship between socio-psychological factors and ERP system usage among SMEs in Selangor. This study provides insight for the management of SMEs and the service providers on the factors influencing the ERP system usage. It contributes to the breadth of knowledge of the ERP system in SMEs from the perspective of a developing nation since the SMEs play an important role in the nation’s economy
