: The globalization era has brought both positive and negative impacts on the life of everyone,including that in the family. The family has a great role in shaping the children's character as theyspend most of their time with the family. However, the government needs to include character education in the curriculum, both implicitly or explicitly. Therefore, the 2013 Curriculum was redesignedbased on competence and character. Despite the great role of the family, the school, as represented bythe teachers, must have a greater role in providing character education for the students in variouscompetencies in order that the national education goals can be achieved maximally. It is stated in the2013 Curriculum that teachers can assess the learning results so that the students can prepare themselves through the mastery of a number of compencies and certain character traits

Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Bagi Anak Usia Dini Versus Budaya Lokal

Mengenalkan bahasa Inggris sejak dini seyogyanya perlu didukung oleh sarana dan prasarana yang memadai. Guru sebagai komponen pengelola proses pembelajaran perlu memahami kerangka berpikir anak usia dini (AUD) agar pengelolaan pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dengan baik. Pembelajaran hendaknya dikelola sedemikian rupa agar tercipta kegiatan belajar yang bermakna dan menyenangkan. Penggunaan nyanyian (song) sebagai media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu upaya bagi terciptanya pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang bermakna dan menyenangkan, yang “asyik”, bagi anak usia dini. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dapat disiasati dengan berbagai cara – metode dan teknik serta permainan (games) maupun media pembelajaran – yang akan membuat anak tidak merasa sedang belajar tetapi sedang bermain, sehingga anak merasa asyik belajar Inggris. Bahkan budaya lokal pun dapat digunakan sebagai sarana ampuh dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang asyik bagi AUD. Tulisan ini akan membahas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris bagi AUD secara umum, dan belajar melalui nyanyian secara khusus. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang menyenangkan akan menghindari AUD dari kejenuhan dan rasa bosan atau bahkan trauma terhadap bahasa Inggris

Efektivitas Pelaksanaan Bab IV Undang-undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 dan Aplikasinya pada Guru SMA Se-nanggroe Aceh Darussalam

Law is a supporting component to run a state, become in carrying out all activities needs to be supported by Law as a strong juridical base. Education in one of National Development goals in Indonesia. Formal human resources building is conducted through education. Teachers are one of the elements of human resources in education. Professional teachers will be able to increase the quality of education. Certification for teacher program is the real implementation of Law Number 14 of 2005 regarding. Teacher and Lecturer which is applicable in the form of teaching staff certification in order to increase the quality of education and the value of teachers themselves. The certification is carried out through two ways, which are: (1) portofolio assessment (if the teachers do not get the minimum score of 850, they will be sent to participate in Teachers Professionalism Training and Education, and (2) education Professional teachers are looked for by many parties such as the government, parents, and steakeholders. Our prophet Muhammad SAW said in hadits that “If you ask someone to carry out a task that is not his/her capacity, then you will expect something devastating happens to you” (Narrated by Bukhari). Therefore, to conduct the learning and teaching activities, a teacher need to be academically qualified, competent and the certificate which is issued by teacher certification committee mandated in Chapter IV of Law Number 14 of 2005. Teachers who have completed the certification will be paid a professional allowance as much as their base-salary. However, for those who have gotten the certificate and they do not perform their tasks, the payment of the allowance will be terminated, so that, the professional allowance is paid separately from regular monthly salary. Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam has been ready to implement the teaching staff certification program as mandated by Directorate General of Higher Education to FKIP Unsyiah which has been appointed as one of authorized institutions to carry out the certification program, and therefore, FKIP Unsyiah has been doing this task very well as regulated in related rules.Keywords: Effectiveness, Qualification, Competency, Certification, and Teachers

A Pattern Recognition Approach to the Structure Identification of Soil Hydraulic Propertiest

A simple pattern recognition approach to the identification of model structures is described and used to identify structures for the soil water characteristic and soil water dijfusivity, D( e), versus water content relationships of disturbed samples for Bungor series. An asymptotic model and an exponential function were found to be suitable structures for the soil water characteristic and D( e) - e relationship respectively. A comparison with the Least Squares Technique suggests the pattern recognition approach to be a useful alternative in identification of model structure

Management of Cervical Root Fracture Using Orthodontic Extrusion and Crown Reattachment: A Case Report

Root fractures involve damage to pulp, cementum, dentin, and periodontal ligaments. These injuries affect 0.5% to 7% of permanent teeth. Cervical root fractures are less frequently seen and have a worse prognosis compared with the fractures in the apical or middle third of the root. This case report describes the treatment of a cervical root fracture in a maxillary central incisor. After removal of the coronal fragment, the root was filled temporarily with calcium hydroxide and orthodontic extrusion was initiated. The remaining root portion was elevated above the epithelial attachment and a successful coronal restoration was made using the natural crown of the traumatized tooth

Mutu Bakso Ikan Ekor Kuning (Caesio Cuning) Dengan Penambahan Rebung (Dendrocalamus Asper)

This study aims to get the exact formulation of the slurry shoots with yellowtail fish meat in the manufacture of composite flour meatballs using sago starch and tapioca starch as a filler. The expected benefits of this research is the improve of the nutritional value of the meatballs with the addition of bamboo shoots and increase the diversity of fishery product processing and dissemination of fish balls. The method used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study is P1 (25% bamboo shoots : 35% yellowtail fish), P2 (20% bamboo shoots : 40% yellowtail fish), P3 (15% bamboo shoots : 45% yellowtail fish), P4 (10% bamboo shoots : 50% yellowtail fish), P5 (5% bamboo shoots : 55% yellowtail fish). The results of this study showed that the addition ratio of shoots on yellowtail fish balls significant effect on water content, fiber content and protein levels as well as color, aroma, flavor and texture of the meatballs are descriptive, but no effect was not apparent to the hedonic test on the attributes of color, texture and an overall assessment. The best treatment is P1 (25% bamboo shoots : 35% yellowtail fish)

Zn2+ detection of a benzimidazole 8-aminoquinoline fluorescent sensor by inhibited tautomerization

A new fluorescent chemosensor based on 8-aminoquinoline L1 bearing a benzimidazole moiety was synthesized, which exists as two predominant tautomers L1A and L1B in diluted DMSO-d6 solution. Among various metal ions, L1 showed a highly selective and sensitive turn-on fluorescence response to the presence of Zn2+ ions in methanol. The detection limit for Zn2+ by L1 was calculated to be 1.76 x 10-7 M. The 1 : 1 complexation ratio of the L1–Zn complex was confirmed through Job plot measurements. Complexation studies were performed by FT-IR, NMR and HR-ESI MS measurements and DFT calculations. With the gained insight, it was possible to successfully apply L1 in water sample analysis
