An Analytical Review on Solar Chimney Power Plant Designs

    Get PDF
The use of solar energy today is also necessary and important. Chimney solar power generation technology is one of the solar energy harvesting techniques where direct and diffuse solar radiation is absorbed into the solar chimney power plant. The efficiency of solar chimney has been demonstrated for power generation and is a promising approach for future power generation plans. This article provides a comprehensive scenario of solar technology research and development, as well as the history of solar chimney over the past few decades

Factors Influencing Cloud Computing Adoption by Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) In India

The purpose of this paper is to examine and assess the determinants of cloud computing adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an Indian context through an integrated research framework. A questionnaire based survey method was used to collect data from 271 SMEs from the northern region of India. An integrated model founded on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) and Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) was proposed to test ten hypotheses through a confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. The analysis reveals that relative advantage, security concerns, top management support, external pressure and service providers’ support are the significant factors which influence intention to adopt cloud computing by SMEs in India. The integrated research framework used and validated in this study is intended to enhance the predictive power of the ensuing model. The empirically validated research model and the instrument used for data collection can be adopted in other similar studies. The findings of this study can be useful for consumers, practitioners, and policy makers who are involved in utilizing, spreading and promoting the adoption of cloud computing among organizations, especially the SMEs. Evolution of VANETS to IoV: Applications and Challenges

    Get PDF
Advancement in wireless communication technology along with the evolution of low power computational devices, have given rise to the Internet of things paradigm. This paradigm is transforming conventional VANETs into Internet-of- vehicles. This transition has led to a substantial commercial interest; as a result, there has been a significant boost in the field of the Internet of vehicles during the past few years. IoV promises a wide range of applications of commercial interest as well as public entertainment and convenience (collision warning systems, on-demand in-car entertainment, smart parking, traffic information). Applications related to vehicular and passenger safety are particularly of great commercial as well as a research interest as such IoV is going to be a core component in implementing the smart city concept. This paper gives an overview of the transition of conventional VANETs to IoV and highlights the potential applications and challenges faced by the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) paradigm

Cryptanalysis and Performance Evaluation of Enhanced Threshold Proxy Signature Scheme Based on RSA for Known Signers

In these days there are plenty of signature schemes such as the threshold proxy signature scheme (Kumar and Verma 2010). The network is a shared medium so that the weakness security attacks such as eavesdropping, replay attack, and modification attack. Thus, we have to establish a common key for encrypting/decrypting our communications over an insecure network. In this scheme, a threshold proxy signature scheme based on RSA, any or more proxy signers can cooperatively generate a proxy signature while or fewer of them cannot do it. The threshold proxy signature scheme uses the RSA cryptosystem to generate the private and the public key of the signers (Rivest et al., 1978). Comparison is done on the basis of time complexity, space complexity, and communication overhead. We compare the performance of four schemes (Hwang et al. (2003), Kuo and Chen (2005), Yong-Jun et al. (2007), and Li et al. (2007), with the performance of a scheme that has been proposed earlier by the authors of this paper. In the proposed scheme, both the combiner and the secret share holder can verify the correctness of the information that they are receiving from each other. Therefore, the enhanced threshold proxy signature scheme is secure and efficient against notorious conspiracy attacks

Comparative evaluation of efficacy and safety of primaquine sustained-release tablets v/s primaquine conventional tablets in Treatment and prevention of relapse of plasmodium vivax malaria

Background: Malaria is one of the most important parasitic disease of human. In India 60-65% of infections are due to P.vivax and 35-40% are due to P.falciparum Malaria is an acute, recurrent and sometimes chronic vector borne protozoan disease which has worldwide distribution in tropical and subtropical regions The role of Primaquine is well established in the prevention of relapse of P.vivax malaria. Primaquine has a narrow therapeutic range and short half-life that requires daily administration upto 2 weeks, resulting in poor complianceMethods: Randomized control trial, which involved 100 patients of P.vivax Malaria Patient in medical ward of mahatma Gandhi hospital attached to S N medical college ’Jodhpur. All patient in this study received chloroquine for 3 days (10mg of base per kg followed by 5mg /kg 6-8 hours later and 5 mg/kg on each of the two days, total 25mg/kg over 3days and divided in three groups viz.Group 1 taken Primaquine 15 mg tab for 14 days (n=34), Group 2 taken Primaquine 15 mg SR tab for 14 days (n=33),Group 3 taken Primaquine 30 mg SR tab for 7 days and placebo for next 7 days. Results: In this study, Efficacy and compliance of Primaquine 30 mg SR for 7 days was found greater than the conventional Primaquine tab. and Primaquine 15 mg SR tab for 14 day. Adverse effect of primaquine 30 mg SR tab for 7 days was found lesser than conventional Primaquine tab 15 mg as well as Primaquine 15 mg SR tab. Conclusions: As Malaria is very prevalent in India which causes significant mortality and morbidity in Indian population. Use of Primaquine 30 mg SR tab has good compliance, efficacy as well as lesser adverse effect

Checklist of family Poaceae in Lahaul and Spiti district (Cold Desert), Himachal Pradesh, India

The present study provides an overview of the diversity and distribution of grass species in Lahaul- Spiti district (cold desert) situated in the Trans-Himalayan region i.e. Himachal Pradesh, India. From the study area 141 taxa (138 species and 3 subspecies) belonging to 14 tribes were recorded. The largest tribe was Festuceae followed by Agrostideae having 48 and 20 species, respectively. Two species Poa koelzii and P. Lahaulensis are endemic to Lahaul- Spiti. Puccinellia kashmiriana is rare as per IUCN status. The present study on the grass floral wealth of Lahaul-Spiti provides an important baseline data on grasses for further quantitative and qualitative investigations like their nutritive values, crop improvement programmes and shall also help in the identification of priority conservation areas in the region

A variety of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging algorithms provide various EV charging load profiles, when utilized together, has an impact on the electrical grid functions. Present-day charging an EV Models of demand are either based on level of charging when an EV arrives or smart charging algorithms strengthened with specific charging levels and/or procedures. In this work, a brand-new data-driven technique for calculating EV charging load is suggested. They start by introducing a mathematical model that describes an adaptability of demand for EV charging. The characteristics of several EV load models are then identified, and advanced simulation techniques are suggested to simulate EV charging demand under various power market realizations. The suggested EV load modeling technique may act as a benchmark system by simulating various EV operating schedules, charging levels, and consumer engagement. The suggested framework would also give EV charging infrastructure advice from transmission system operators development in contemporary power networks
