    Analysis of Determinants of Income and Efforts to Improve the Welfare of Street Vendors in Padang City

    The increasing number of workforce in Indonesia without accompanied of adequate employment opportunities will lead to high levels of unemployment, especially coupled with the earthquake that struck the city of Padang in 2009.This gave rise to more and more people are losing their jobs and infrastructure, and the other hand the government's efforts to provide jobs limited and cause people into the informal sectors.   This study examines the characteristics of the informal sector in the city of Padang on the aspect of income, capital, highest level of education, and welfare. Furthermore, it also examines how these factors affect revenue and its impact on the welfare of street vendors.The method used is descriptive analysis and percentages to describe the characteristics of the informal sector (street vendors) and multiple linear regression analysis to see the effect of these variables to income, also the influence of income to the level of welfare of street vendors.The results show that the turnover, capital work, and the daily cost is very significant to earnings PKL. Moreover  PKL revenue influences very significantly to improving the welfare of which can be seen from the level of education, consumption and health.     Study of Minimum Wage, Level of Education, Employment Opportunity, and Unemployment Educated: Empirical Study in Padang

    Unemployment may occur as a result of the high rate of change in the labor force that is not offset by sufficient jobs and labor absorption that a little, which is due to the low rate of growth in job creation to accommodate workers who are ready to work. In other words, in the labor market, the number of labor supply is higher than the amount of labor demand. This article analyzes the effect of the minimum wage, education, and employment opportunity toward unemployed educated in the city of Padang. The data used is secondary data obtained from the BPS, Padang dalam angka, Susenas, and other institutions that are linked from 2001 - 2015. Data were analyzed using multiple regression models with SPSS data processing. And this model is free from classical assumptions. The results obtained showed that the level of education that is reflected by graduates of bachelor significantly and positively affect the level of educated unemployment, means if more and more of labor force who successfully completed their education, so the educated unemployment is increasing. The minimum wage is a significant and negative effect on unemployment of educated, meaning that if minimum wage is high, the unemployment lower. At least, when the government was not quit competence to provide the employment opportunities for the labor force, the informal sector with all its shortage took a role as a container and alternative employment opportunities for the job seekers. It is also experienced by Padang after the earthquake in 2009 which destroyed some facilities and infrastructure as well as at the same time the economic crisis made people involuntarily unemployed and temporarily mitigated by the availability of employment opportunities in the informal sector in urban areas reflected by street vendors as the main face.This study examines and analyzes in depth the characteristics of informal workers to identificate of demographics , region of origin, age of business , hours of operation, capital and finance, health of workers, the problems and their prospects. The methodology used was qualitative descriptive analysis with random data sample of 255 street vendors.The results of the study found that the role of women more prominent than men to work in this sector , and the educational level of workers with family members was not so much different that was only until the equivalent of high school , and workers in the sector was dominated by local residence , with the capital beginning most dominant of ≤ two million, and capable to give experience with lower cost.     The Competitiveness of the Tourism Industry in West Sumatera with A Competitiveness Monitor Approach

    Competitiveness is one of the criteria to determine the success and achievement of a better goal by a country in increasing income and economic growth[1,2]. This study aims to determine the high and low indicators that determine the competitiveness of the tourism sector and the level of competitiveness of the tourism sector in the cities in West Sumatra. In this study, the measurement of the competitiveness of the tourism industry uses eight indicators used by the World tourism organization (WTO) with competitiveness monitor approach[3]. This study uses secondary data. The analytical method used in this study is the tourism index, composite index and competitiveness index. The results of the analysis show that the competitiveness of tourism in the eight indicators is only the Infrastructure Development Indicator (IDI) which shows a low competitiveness value, while the other indicators have high competitiveness. The traffic of goods, services, and information can be accessed through internet services and communication media without any limitation of time and place. User satisfaction is the overall evaluation of the user experience in using the information system and the potential impact of the information system. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of system quality, information quality, and service quality on SIDJP user satisfaction at KPP Pratama Padang. The number of samples in this study were 72 respondents. In collecting data using a questionnaire. The data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the study indicate that the quality of the system, the quality of information, and the quality of services have a positive and significant effect on the satisfaction of SIDJP users.     This study aims to determine the Effect of Facilities, Service Quality and Experience on Consumer Satisfaction of Citra Alam Inn 2 Full River City. The sample from this study was 80 people. Data were collected with questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques used are analysis, descriptive, multiple regression, coefficient of determination and hypothesis testing using the t test and the F test. The results showed that there was a significant influence between facilities on consumer satisfaction of Citra Alam Inn 2, this was evidenced by t count > t table (3.101 > 1.99167), and with significance value = 0.041 < 0.05, and the magnitude of influence was 22.8%. There is a significant influence between the Quality of Service on Consumer Satisfaction of Citra Alam Inn 2, this is evidenced by t count > t table (2.066 > 1.99167), and with significance value = 0.000  < 0.05, and the magnitude of influence is 14.4%. There is a significant influence between Experience and Consumer Satisfaction of Citra Alam Inn 2, this is evidenced by t count > t table (2.498 > 1.99167), and with significance value = 0.000 < 0.05, and the magnitude of influence is 15.5%. There is a significant influence between Facilities, Quality of Service and Experience on Consumer Satisfaction of Citra Alam Lodging 2 simultaneously or together, this is evidenced by F count > F table (28,222 > 2.72) or sig < α (0.000 < 0.05), and the magnitude of the influence is 52.7%, while the rest (100% - 52.7%), i.e. 47.3% is explained by other causal factors not studied in this study

    ANALISIS EKSPOR, IMPOR, NILAI TUKAR DAN INFLASI TERHADAP PRODUK DOMESTIK BRUTO INDONESIA

    AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of exports, imports, exchange rates and inflation on Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product. The data used in this study is data based on the years 1981-2020 derived from reports and compilations of publications from the World Bank. The Model used is multiple linear regression with ordinary least square (OLS) analysis method. The results showed that import and inflation variables are significant to Indonesia's GDP, while exports and inflation are not significant to Indonesia's GDP. The value of the coefficient of determination (Adj. R2 = 0.981) shows that Indonesia's GDP of 98.1 percent is owned by exports, imports, exchange rates and inflation, while the remaining 1.9 percent is owned by factors other than this study.Keywords: export, import, exchange rate, inflation, Gross Domestic Product, Ordinary Least SquaresAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekspor, impor, nilai tukar dan inflasi terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto Indonesia.     The Effect of Regional Finance in Improving the Quality of Human Resources in West Sumatra

    The Human Development Index (HDI) has a close relationship with a country’s income. The higher the quality of human resources, the higher the state’s income. This research examined the impact of local revenue, general allocation funds, special allocation funds, and profit-sharing funds on the HDI of West Sumatran districts and cities. This was a descriptive and quantitative study. The data used were secondary data from the Ministry of Finance, Central Bureau of Statistics and other institutions from 2010-2019. Panel data regression analysis was used. The results showed that all of the variables had a positive and significant effect, except for profit-sharing funds which had a negative and significant effect on HDI. This indicated that when more funds are spent on improving human resources, the quality of human resources increases, which is in accordance with previous research.     ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of government spending, education, labor force, and domestic investment on economic growth in West Sumatra. The data used is secondary data in the form of time series with a period from 2013 to 2019 and a cross section of 19 districts/cities in West Sumatra Province, with documentation data collection techniques and literature studies obtained from related institutions and agencies. The variables used are government spending, education, labor force, domestic investment and economic growth. The research method used is Panel Data Regression Analysis. The results of the study show that  Government Expenditure has a positive and significant on economic growth. Education has a negative and insignificant on economic growth. And Labor force has a negative but significant on economic growth. Metode Penelitian yang dipakai yaitu, Analisis Regresi Data Panel. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa Pengeluaran Pemerintah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi, sedangkan Pendidikan berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Sementara Angkatan Kerja berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan penanaman modal dalam negeri negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Sumatera Barat.Kata Kunci : Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, Pendidikan, Angkatan Kerja, Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri, Regresi Data Pane
