Static solution of the ceiling structure of apartment building

    Get PDF
Bakalářská práce se zabývá statickým řešením stropní konstrukce integrovaného bytového domu. Cílem je návrh, případně změna velikostí rozměrů projektovaných konstrukcí v předloženém projektu, zajištění přerušení tepelných mostů a ochrany proti kročejovému zvuku. The Bachelor thesis deals with the static solution of the ceiling construction of an integrated apartment building. The aim is to design, or change the sizes of the projected structures in the submitted project, to ensure the interruption of thermal bridges and protection against foot noise. Subsequently, their static solution, dimensioning and assessment to marginal states. The elements intended for the solution are ceiling structures above the second upper floor, beams, a connecting staircase and a column. The calculation of internal forces was performed in the student version of SCIA Engineer 20.0 with a comparison of values on an independent simplified model. The work also includes drawing documentation for the aforementioned elements. The calculation was carried out according to the applicable standards and principles.

The increase in the detection rate for premalignant changes of bronchial epithelium was studied in 56 symptom-free volunteers from the risk group of Czech uranium miners (mean age 50.69 years, mean WLM 21.06 (1 Working Level Month is equal to the absorption of latent energy of 2.08 × 10–5 J/m3 in one month, i.e. 170 working hours)) by the additional employment of the System of Autofluorescence Endoscopy (SAFE-1000 Pentax) to conventional white-light bronchoscopy, comparing results with those of bronchial biopsy histopathology examination. Histopathology using hematoxylin and eosin staining confirmed intraepithelial neoplasias in 15 areas in 10 persons. White-light bronchoscopy sensitivity was 21.05%, and specificity 93.7% which an autofluorescence bronchoscopy sensitivity was 78.95% and specificity 81.89%

Design of foundation of library building

    No full text
The master’s thesis deals with the static solution foundation structure of the Moravian-Silesian Scientific Library in Ostrava. The goal is to process the design for the commissioned construction of the library building in detail, numerically and graphically, on the foundation supporting structure of the underground floors. Subsequently, their static solution, dimensioning and assessment for limit states. The solved elements are the foundation slab in the second underground floor, the bearing capacity of the piles and the foundation block of the core A. The static analysis was performed in a combination of the student versions of SCIA Engineer 22.0 and the Midas program. The work also includes drawing documentation for the above-mentioned elements. The calculation was carried out according to applicable standards and principles

Outcomes of group audiologic rehabilitation for adults with unaided hearing impairment and their significant others

Aim: To evaluate an audiologic rehabilitation program previously piloted in the U.S. (Kelly-Campbell, in review) for unaided hearing-impaired working adults that was also modified to include their significant others. Method: In this quasi-randomised repeated measures waitlist design, forty-eight participants (24 hearing-impaired adults and their 24 normal hearing significant others) aged 50-64 years were randomised into either a non-waitlist group (immediate treatment), or a waitlist group (treatment after 12-weeks). In these groups, participant couples attended three weekly 2-hour group sessions and completed health-related quality of life (HRQOL) assessments. Treatment outcomes for hearing-impaired adults (HIAs) were measured from self and significant other (SO) proxy reports of the Communication Profile for the Hearing Impaired (CPHI; Demorest & Erdman, 1986; 1987). Treatment outcomes for SOs were measured from self-reports of the Significant Other Scale for Hearing Disability (SOS-HEAR; Scarinci, Worrall & Hickson, 2009b). An investigation of the effect of treatment on the congruence of SO-proxy versus HIA HRQOL measures was also undertaken. Results: A series of analyses of variance and repeated-measures t-tests examined HRQOL outcomes for HIAs and their SOs between pre-treatment, post-treatment, and at 12-weeks follow-up. Results suggest a significant effect of time for all HRQOL assessments, with gender effects found for CPHI measures, but not for SOS-HEAR measures. Medium to large effect sizes were revealed for both HIAs and their SOs. Conclusions: Group AR appears to be a beneficial treatment approach for reducing the consequences of hearing impairment for HIAs and for their normal hearing SOs
