Exact solution of type quantum Calogero model through a mapping to free harmonic oscillators
We solve the eigenvalue problem of the type of Calogero model by
mapping it to a set of decoupled quantum harmonic oscillators through a
similarity transformation. In particular, we construct the eigenfunctions of
this Calogero model from those of bosonic harmonic oscillators having either
all even parity or all odd parity. It turns out that the eigenfunctions of this
model are orthogonal with respect to a nontrivial inner product, which can be
derived from the quasi-Hermiticity property of the corresponding conserved

Electron Addition Spectrum in the Supersymmetric t-J Model with Inverse-Square Interaction
The electron addition spectrum A^+(k,omega) is obtained analytically for the
one-dimensional (1D) supersymmetric t-J model with 1/r^2 interaction. The
result is obtained first for a small-sized system and its validity is checked
against the numerical calculation. Then the general expression is found which
is valid for arbitrary size of the system. The thermodynamic limit of
A^+(k,omega) has a simple analytic form with contributions from one spinon, one
holon and one antiholon all of which obey fractional statistics. The upper edge
of A^+(k,omega) in the (k,omega) plane includes a delta-function peak which

Local majority dynamics on preferential attachment graphs
Suppose in a graph vertices can be either red or blue. Let be odd. At
each time step, each vertex in polls random neighbours and takes
the majority colour. If it doesn't have neighbours, it simply polls all of
them, or all less one if the degree of is even. We study this protocol on
the preferential attachment model of Albert and Barab\'asi, which gives rise to
a degree distribution that has roughly power-law ,
as well as generalisations which give exponents larger than . The setting is
as follows: Initially each vertex of is red independently with probability
, and is otherwise blue. We show that if is
sufficiently biased away from , then with high probability,
consensus is reached on the initial global majority within
steps. Here is the number of vertices and is the minimum of
and (or if is even), being the number of edges each new
vertex adds in the preferential attachment generative process. Additionally,
our analysis reduces the required bias of for graphs of a given degree
sequence studied by the first author (which includes, e.g., random regular
graphs)
Green Function of the Sutherland Model with SU(2) internal symmetry
We obtain the hole propagator of the Sutherland model with SU(2) internal
symmetry for coupling parameter , which is the simplest nontrivial
case. One created hole with spin down breaks into two quasiholes with spin down
and one quasihole with spin up. While these elementary excitations are
energetically free, the form factor reflects their anyonic character. The

Finite Size Polyelectrolyte Bundles at Thermodynamic Equilibrium
We present the results of extensive computer simulations performed on
solutions of monodisperse charged rod-like polyelectrolytes in the presence of
trivalent counterions. To overcome energy barriers we used a combination of
parallel tempering and hybrid Monte Carlo techniques. Our results show that for
small values of the electrostatic interaction the solution mostly consists of
dispersed single rods. The potential of mean force between the polyelectrolyte
monomers yields an attractive interaction at short distances. For a range of
larger values of the Bjerrum length, we find finite size polyelectrolyte
bundles at thermodynamic equilibrium. Further increase of the Bjerrum length
eventually leads to phase separation and precipitation. We discuss the origin
of the observed thermodynamic stability of the finite size aggregates
Exactly Solvable Pairing Model Using an Extension of Richardson-Gaudin Approach
We introduce a new class of exactly solvable boson pairing models using the
technique of Richardson and Gaudin. Analytical expressions for all energy
eigenvalues and first few energy eigenstates are given. In addition, another
solution to Gaudin's equation is also mentioned. A relation with the

Hybrid fluidic actuation for a foam-based soft actuator
Actuation means for soft robotic structures are manifold: despite actuation mechanisms such as tendon-driven manipulators or shape memory alloys, the majority of soft robotic actuators are fluidically actuated - either purely by positive or negative air pressure or by hydraulic actuation only. This paper presents the novel idea of employing hybrid fluidic - hydraulic and pneumatic - actuation for soft robotic systems. The concept and design of the hybrid actuation system as well as the fabrication of the soft actuator are presented: Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) foam is embedded inside a casted, reinforced silicone chamber. A hydraulic and pneumatic robotic syringe pump are connected to the base and top of the soft actuator. We found that a higher percentage of hydraulics resulted in a higher output force. Hydraulic actuation further is able to change displacements at a higher rate compared to pneumatic actuation. Changing between Hydraulic:Pneumatic (HP) ratios shows how stiffness properties of a soft actuator can be varied
Investigating the Fair Treatment of Suppliers and its Trust Fostering Role and Performance Benefits
An increasing number of companies have begun to make efforts to treat their suppliers fairly as a part of wider corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Few studies, however, have investigated the performance implications of such efforts for buying firms. This paper uses both organisational climate theory and social exchange theory to investigate (1) if buying firms' efforts in the form of a code of conduct for its procurement practitioners pay off, and (2) its mechanisms from the perspectives of procurement practitioners. We use a multi-method approach, combining analysis of survey data complemented by results from a behavioural experiment. First, survey data were gathered from 327 Korean manufacturing companies and analysed using structural equation modelling. Second, the findings were complemented by a behavioural experiment involving 120 subjects. The results support the positive performance implications of fair supplier treatment in the form of codes of conduct for procurement practitioners. The paper also offers insights into how such efforts benefit buying firms, which is due to the trust in the buyer-supplier relationship fostered by the resulting ethical behaviours of procurement practitioners
Persistence length of a polyelectrolyte in salty water: a Monte-Carlo study
We address the long standing problem of the dependence of the electrostatic
persistence length of a flexible polyelectrolyte (PE) on the screening
length of the solution within the linear Debye-Huckel theory. The
standard Odijk, Skolnick and Fixman (OSF) theory suggests ,
while some variational theories and computer simulations suggest . In this paper, we use Monte-Carlo simulations to study the conformation
of a simple polyelectrolyte. Using four times longer PEs than in previous
simulations and refined methods for the treatment of the simulation data, we
show that the results are consistent with the OSF dependence . The linear charge density of the PE which enters in the coefficient of
this dependence is properly renormalized to take into account local
