English phrases play an important role in language description and acquisition. The most frequently used English phrases that should take priority of learning can be sorted out mainly by quantitative analysis with the help of modern English corpus. Second language phrases acquisition deserves a considerable research topic in second language vocabulary acquisition. Key Words: lexical phrases, second language phrases acquisition, corpus Résumé: Les expressions anglaises jouent un rôle important dans la description et l’acquisition linguistiques. The smiling mask in service encounters: The impact of surface and deep acting

    Get PDF
The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of emotional labor mechanisms (surface acting and deep acting) on service encounters. The literature review has been conducted to examine how two mechanisms impact on employees and customers. The study suggested that as far as employees are concerned, it has been concluded that deep acting rather than surface acting is responsible of high levels of employee satisfaction. The main justification given for this outcome is that employees applying surface acting are not totally able to eradicate the effects of job pressures and demands. Deep acting, however, does not produce such outcome as employees applying this mechanism totally overlook the impact of workplace pressures and demands by placing the interest of the organization first. As far as customers are concerned, the review concluded that surface acting is less likely to result in customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction with deep acting has been guaranteed. Upon further analysis, it came to the light that surface acting fails to guarantee customer satisfaction since employees using it do not attend to customers with dedication and commitment

Detecting Chiral Magnetic Effect via Deep Learning

The search of chiral magnetic effect (CME) in heavy-ion collisions has attracted long-term attentions. Multiple observables have been proposed but all suffer from obstacles due to large background contaminations. In this Letter, we construct an observable-independent CME-meter based on a deep convolutional neural network. After trained over data set generated by a multiphase transport model, the CME-meter shows high accuracy in recognizing the CME-featured charge separation from the final-state pion spectra. It also exhibits remarkable robustness to diverse conditions including different collision energies, centralities, and elliptic flow backgrounds. In a transfer learning manner, the CME-meter is validated in isobaric collision systems, showing good transferability among different colliding systems. Based on variational approaches, we utilize the DeepDream method to derive the most responsive CME-spectra that demonstrates the physical contents the machine learns.Comment: 7 pages, 10 figure

Impact of ESD Generator Parameters on Failure Level in Fast CMOS System

    Get PDF
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) generators are used for testing the robustness of electronics towards ESD. Most generators are built in accordance with the IEC 61000-4-2 specifications. It is shown that the voltage induced in a small loop correlates with the failure level observed in an ESD failure test on the systems comprising fast CMOS devices, while rise time and current derivative of the discharge current did not correlate well. The electric parameters are compared for typical and modified ESD generators and the effect on the failure level of fast CMOS electronics is investigated. The consequences of aligning an ESD standard with the suggestions of this paper are discussed with respect to reproducibility and test severity

Review on the Conflicts between Offshore Wind Power and Fishery Rights: Marine Spatial Planning in Taiwan

In recent years, Taiwan has firmly committed itself to pursue the green energy transition and a nuclear-free homeland by 2025, with an increase in renewable energy from 5% in 2016 to 20% in 2025. Offshore wind power (OWP) has become a sustainable and scalable renewable energy source in Taiwan. Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) is a fundamental tool to organize the use of the ocean space by different and often conflicting multi-users within ecologically sustainable boundaries in the marine environment. MSP is capable of definitively driving the use of offshore renewable energy. Lessons from Germany and the UK revealed that MSP was crucial to the development of OWP. This paper aims to evaluate how MSP is able to accommodate the exploitation of OWP in Taiwan and contribute to the achievement of marine policy by proposing a set of recommendations. It concludes that MSP is emerging as a solution to be considered by government institutions to optimize the multiple use of the ocean space, reduce conflicts and make use of the environmental and economic synergies generated by the joint deployment of OWP facilities and fishing or aquaculture activities for the conservation and protection of marine environments.Peer Reviewe
