    The Influence of Marketing Journals: A Citation Analysis of the Discipline and its Sub-areas

    An important characteristic of journals is how influential they are in the generation and dissemination of scholarly knowledge in a discipline.We report a citation analysis of 49 marketing and marketing-related journals to assess their relative influence based on the index of structural influence proposed by Salancik (1986).We investigate the level and span of influence of the 49 journals, both in the marketing discipline as a whole and in five specific sub-areas of marketing.As expected, the Journal of Marketing emerges as the most influential journal in the discipline and as the journal with the broadest span of influence across all sub-areas of marketing.However, different journals are most influential in each of the sub-areas, and the Journal of Marketing is particularly influential among the applied marketing journals.We also find that the index of structural influence is significantly correlated with all other measures of influence but least so with the impact factors reported in the Social Sciences Citation Index.marketing;citation analysis

    Importance, Cohesion and Structural Equivalence in the Evolving Citation Network of the International Journal of Research in Marketing

    The citation network of the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM) is examined from 1981 to 1995. We propose a model that contains log-linear and logmultiplicative terms to estimate simultaneously the importance, cohesion, and structural equivalence of journals in the network across time. Our findings show that the overall importance of IJRM in its network is low but growing. The importance of psychology journals in the network appears to be decreasing. Clear cohesive and structurally equivalent groups of core marketing, methodology, managerial and psychology journals with distinct functions in the network are identified.     Source of the optical red-slope in iron-rich meteorites

    The relationship between ordinary chondrites and S-type asteroids is an unresolved issue in meteorite science. S-type asteroids exhibit a positively red-sloped spectrum that is interpreted to indicate the presence of elemental iron on the surfaces. The characteristic red-sloped spectrum of iron-rich meteorites is produced by only the specular component of the reflectance. Complex metallic surfaces can be modeled as linear mixtures of specular and nonspecular components. It is the geometry of the metal on a surface and its interaction with surrounding material, rather than the absolute amount of metal, that determine the redness of resulting spectra. In order to distinguish between ordinary chondrite and differentiated parent bodies it is important to understand how regolith processes affect the nature and form of metal on asteroid surfaces

    Real-time centre detection of an OLED structure

    The research presented in this paper focuses on real-time image processing for visual servoing, i.e. the positioning of a x-y table by using a camera only instead of encoders. A camera image stream plus real-time image processing determines the position in the next iteration of the table controller. With a frame rate of 1000 fps, a maximum processing time of only 1 millisecond is allowed for each image of 80x80 pixels. This visual servoing task is performed on an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) substrate that can be found in displays, with a typical size of 100 by 200 µm. The presented algorithm detects the center of an OLED well with sub-pixel accuracy (1 pixel equals 4 µm, sub-pixel accuracy reliable up to ±1 µm) and a computation time less than 1 millisecond

    Portunes: representing attack scenarios spanning through the physical, digital and social domain

    The security goals of an organization are realized through security policies, which concern physical security, digital security and security awareness. An insider is aware of these security policies, and might be able to thwart the security goals by combining physical, digital and social means. A systematic analysis of such attacks requires the whole environment where the insider operates to be formally represented. This paper presents Portunes, a framework which integrates all three security domains in a single environment. Portunes consists of a high-level abstraction model focusing on the relations between the three security domains and a lower abstraction level language able to represent the model and describe attacks which span the three security domains. Using the Portunes framework, we are able to represent a whole new family of attacks where the insider is not assumed to use purely digital actions to achieve a malicious goal
