Portable coolers and heaters use thermoelectric modules with an additional heat pipe as a heat transfer median. This research is to know the cooling temperature that can be achieved by the utilization of thermoelectric heat exhaust as heater with 6 volt input voltage. The effect of heat pipe USAge on cooling and heating temperatures is also observed. In this study the use of heat pipe provides a better cooling effect where the temperature is lower than the test without heat pipes for 50 minutes. Achievement of cooling and heating chamber under non-heat-free heat pipe 23.41 oC and 32.36 oC, whereas by using heat pipe the achievement of cooling and heating chamber reaches 22.83 oC and 30.52 oC. Tests by using an additional heat pipe as a heat transfer achievement of cooling chamber and heating chamber become lower compared with testing without heat pipe

Angular dependence of domain wall resistivity in artificial magnetic domain structures

We exploit the ability to precisely control the magnetic domain structure of perpendicularly magnetized Pt/Co/Pt trilayers to fabricate artificial domain wall arrays and study their transport properties. The scaling behaviour of this model system confirms the intrinsic domain wall origin of the magnetoresistance, and systematic studies using domains patterned at various angles to the current flow are excellently described by an angular-dependent resistivity tensor containing perpendicular and parallel domain wall resistivities. We find that the latter are fully consistent with Levy-Zhang theory, which allows us to estimate the ratio of minority to majority spin carrier resistivities, rho-down/rho-up~5.5, in good agreement with thin film band structure calculations.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figure

Size versus truthfulness in the house allocation problem

We study the House Allocation problem (also known as the Assignment problem), i.e., the problem of allocating a set of objects among a set of agents, where each agent has ordinal preferences (possibly involving ties) over a subset of the objects. We focus on truthful mechanisms without monetary transfers for finding large Pareto optimal matchings. It is straightforward to show that no deterministic truthful mechanism can approximate a maximum cardinality Pareto optimal matching with ratio better than 2. We thus consider randomized mechanisms. We give a natural and explicit extension of the classical Random Serial Dictatorship Mechanism (RSDM) specifically for the House Allocation problem where preference lists can include ties. We thus obtain a universally truthful randomized mechanism for finding a Pareto optimal matching and show that it achieves an approximation ratio of eovere-1. The same bound holds even when agents have priorities (weights) and our goal is to find a maximum weight (as opposed to maximum cardinality) Pareto optimal matching. On the other hand we give a lower bound of 18 over 13 on the approximation ratio of any universally truthful Pareto optimal mechanism in settings with strict preferences. In the case that the mechanism must additionally be non-bossy, an improved lower bound of eovere-1 holds. This lower bound is tight given that RSDM for strict preference lists is non-bossy. We moreover interpret our problem in terms of the classical secretary problem and prove that our mechanism provides the best randomized strategy of the administrator who interviews the applicants

Peta Persaingan Produk Ekspor Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapura Dan Thailand

This paper examines the export product competition of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand which classified into five major groups: primer product, natural research intensive product, unskilled labor intensive product, technology intensive product, and human capital intensive product. The method used is product mapping, which is combination between Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) and Trade Balance Index (TBI). The data used is the 3-digit SITC revision 2, obtained by UNCOMTRADE, year 1980-2015. The result shows that Indonesia has comparative advantage in export specialization of primary product, natural research intensive product, and unskilled labor intensive product. Singapore and Malaysia have comparative advantage in technology intensive product, while Thailand has human capital intensive product. This research proves flying geese pattern of the five group of product, that if a country becomes a leader of one product, it will become follower in another product

An ultrafast 1 x M all-optical WDM packet-switched router based on the PPM header address

    Get PDF
This paper presents an all-optical 1 x M WDM router architecture for packet routing at multiple wavelengths simultaneously, with no wavelength conversion modules. The packet header address adopted is based on the pulse position modulation (PPM) format, thus enabling the use of only a singlebitwise optical AND gate for fast header address correlation. It offers multicast as well as broadcast capabilities. It is shown that a high speed packet routing at 160 Gb/s can be achieved with a low channel crosstalk (CXT) of ~ -27 dB at a channel spacing of greater than 0.4 THz and a demultiplexer bandwidth of 500 GHz
