    This study aims to analyze the factors that affect demand and supply of rice in Central Java. The data used are secondary data time series from 1999 till year 2008 is sourced from the internet and books in Central Java in Figures. Analysis of data using an econometric model with ordinary least squares (OLS) and two-stage least squares (TSLS.) The results show that the TSLS analysis on the model of supply and demand of rice in Central Java showed better results than the OLS analysis. Factors that influence on the demand of rice in Central Java is the price of rice, cassava prices, income per capita, and population, while the factors that affect the supply of paddy rice is harvested..     This research entitled “Optimum Portfolio Determination by Single Indeks Model and Investor Rasionality to Share Selection at Jakarta Stock Exchange”. The aim of this research is to know the difference of former research result which done by Sosrokusumo, Sartono and Zulaihati, and Indi Sutopo. The other aims of this research to know the investor rasionality of share purchasing at Jakarta Stock Exchange. The hypothesis proposed in this research are : 1. There\u27s defference with the research result which done by Sosrokusumo (1997), Sartono and Zulaihati (1998), and Indi Sutopo (1998) in connection with kind ofshare composition which categoried in optimum portfolio.2. There\u27s investor rasionality to share research and optimum portfolio determination in Jakarta Stock Exchange. The analysis method which is used to determine optimum portfolio with single index method. Share criteria which becomes candidate of portfolio if value of excess return to beta (ERB) is more bigger than value of cut off rate. The analysis method which is used to know the investor rasionality of share purchasing was used t-test. The investor was called rational in share purchasing if there is significant between share wich not choose as portfolio candidate. From 30 kind of share within LQ-45, there are six of share which becomes portfolio candidate. Those shares are Matahari Putra Prima, Mulia Industrindo, HM Sampoerna, Gajah Tunggal, Ramayana Lestari Sentosa and Indofood Sukses Makmur. From the result of calculation by t-test -3,4282 for t-arithmetic and 2,0017 for t-table. From the explanation can be know that t-arithmetic < t-table, hence it can be stated that there\u27s investor research can be suggested of share purchasing. From the result of this research can be suggested of optimum investor ought to combine shares which becomes candidate of optimum portfolio, those are Matahari Putra Prima, Mulia Industrindo, HM Sampoerna, Gajah Tunggal, Ramayana Lestari Sentosa and Indofood Sukses Makmur.     Histomorphology and Physical Characteristics of Buffalo Meat at Different Sex and Age

    The aim of this experiment was to evaluate histology and physical variables of buffalo meat at different sex and ages. Thirty head of buffaloes were used in this experiment. Muscle fiber diameter, fasciculus diameter, thickness of connective tissue, pH, water holding capacity, Warner-Bratzler shear force and cooking loss were measured in this experiment. Analysis of variance of randomized factorial design was used to analyse the data. The differences were analysed by Tukey test. The result showed that muscle fiber diameter was influenced by ages. The difference muscle fiber diameter among ages indicated that 8-12 mo and 1.5 yr old have smaller diameter compared to three year old (P&lt;0.05), but there was no differences between two, three and four years old. The fasciculus diameter, thickness of connective tissue, tenderness, pH value, water holding capacity, and cooking lost indicated no significant found in all stage of age and sex of samples.     Perbanyakan Lisianthus [Eustoma Grandiflorum (Raf.)] Shinn Secara in Vitro Menggunakan Kuncup Bunga Sebagai Sumber Eksplan

    Lisianthus [Eustoma grandiflorum (Raf.)] Shinn merupakan tanaman hias bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Pengembangan jenis tanaman ini terkendala oleh keterbatasan benih bermutu. Penyediaan benih bermutu melalui pemanfaatan kuncup bunga pada kultur in vitro lisianthus dilakukan dalam penelitian. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan teknologi perbanyakan lisianthus menggunakan kuncup bunga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Hias Segunung pada Januari hingga Desember 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan E. grandiflorum klon 05 NK-70 dengan sumber eksplan kelopak bunga, mahkota, kepala sari, ovarium, dan penyangga bunga. Penelitian terdiri atas empat percobaan, yaitu Percobaan 1, eksplan diinisiasi pada media Murashige &amp; Skoog (MS), MS +0,2 mg/l benzylaminopurin (BAP) + 0,02 mg/l asam naftalen asetat (NAA), MS+0,5 mg/l BAP + 1,5 mg/l thidiazuron (TDZ) dan MS+0,25 mg/l BAP. Percobaan 2, tunas hasil inisiasi diperbanyak pada media MS dan MS + 0,2 mg/ l BAP +0,02 mg/l NAA. Percobaan 3, pencegahan roset pada planlet dengan aplikasi media MS + 0,1–10 mg/l asam giberelin (GA3). Percobaan 4, induksi perakaran menggunakan media MS + 0,1–0,5 mg/l asam asetat-3-indol (IAA) tanpa atau ditambah 1 g/l arang aktif. Percobaan disusun menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 3–4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyangga bunga merupakan eksplan paling responsif dalam inisiasi tunas dan perbanyakan tunas pada media MS + 0,2 mg/l BAP + 0,02 mg/l NAA. Sementara media MS +7 mg/l GA3 sesuai untuk mencegah roset dan media MS +0,5 mg/l IAA + 1 g/l arang aktif sesuai untuk pengakaran tunas. Planlet diaklimatisasi menggunakan campuran arang sekam dan cocopeat dengan tingkat keberhasilan mencapai 80–100%

    Paduan magnesium merupakan paduan yang banyak diaplikasikan pada komponen otomotif yang memerlukan sifat ringan dan mampu tahan pada temperatur kerja otomotif. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan penelitian pengerasan persipitasi paduan Mg-6Zn-1Y dengan menggunakan variabel temperatur 1500C , 175 0C dan 200 0C dengan waktu tahan 4 jam, 8 jam dan 24 jam. Setelah pengerasan presipitasi paduan Mg-6Zn-1Y dilakukan pengujian metalografi, pengujian XRD, pengujian kekerasan dan pengujian TMA. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa fasa yang terbentuk adalah αMg, Mg3 Y2 Zn3 dan Mg3 Y Zn6. Sedangkan microstructure yang didapatkan bererbentuk lamelar, Mg3 Y Zn6 dan αMg. Lamelar terbentuk dari fasa αMg+Mg3 Y2 Zn3. Sedangkan nilai kekerasan pada sampel aging 150ºC dengan waktu tahan 4, 8 dan 24 jam adalah 75.4, 80.93 dan 84.6 BHN
