DEVELOPMENT OF COAXIAL ROTOR MICRO UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
Micro Unmanned Helicopter with ability of takeoff, landing and hovering offeres excellent support tool for missions in indoor environment. In this paper, a review of preliminary studies towards the development of autonomous coaxial helicopter MAV is presented. The paper starts with the statement of coaxial helicoper MAV development. Then, it is continued by the introduction of development of dynamic model for a typical coaxial rotor platform. In the third issues, initial steps in development of sensory system and control system will be dealt with. In brief, an analytical mathematical model has successful derived. This model together with the developed sensor system will act important role towards the full development of the dynamics model as the system identification is carried out
Faxen relations in solids - a generalized approach to particle motion in elasticity and viscoelasticity
A movable inclusion in an elastic material oscillates as a rigid body with
six degrees of freedom. Displacement/rotation and force/moment tensors which
express the motion of the inclusion in terms of the displacement and force at
arbitrary exterior points are introduced. Using reciprocity arguments two
general identities are derived relating these tensors. Applications of the
identities to spherical particles provide several new results, including simple
expressions for the force and moment on the particle due to plane wave
excitation.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figure
Fast motion estimation algorithm
This paper describes a new motion estimation algorithm . It is designed to have the same level of robustness and image quality a s
the full search algorithm, but to be much faster than this latter. Moreover, a speed parameter is included in our method which ca n
Inverse lift: a signature of the elasticity of complex fluids?
To understand the mechanics of a complex fluid such as a foam we propose a
model experiment (a bidimensional flow around an obstacle) for which an
external sollicitation is applied, and a local response is measured,
simultaneously. We observe that an asymmetric obstacle (cambered airfoil
profile) experiences a downards lift, opposite to the lift usually known (in a
different context) in aerodynamics. Correlations of velocity, deformations and
pressure fields yield a clear explanation of this inverse lift, involving the
elasticity of the foam. We argue that such an inverse lift is likely common to
complex fluids with elasticity.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, revised version, submitted to PR
Panax ginseng C.A Meyer root extract for moderate Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): study protocol for a randomised controlled trial
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) impairs quality of life and leads to premature mortality. COPD sufferers experience progressive deterioration of lung function and decreased ability to undertake day-to-day activities. Ginseng has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine for respiratory symptoms. Several controlled clinical trials using ginseng for COPD have shown promising clinical effect, however these studies were generally small and with some potential bias, prompting the need for rigorously designed studies
Application of AHP algorithm on power distribution of load shedding in island microgrid
This paper proposes a method of load shedding in a microgrid system operated in an Island Mode, which is disconnected with the main power grid and balanced loss of the electrical power. This proposed method calculates the minimum value of the shed power with reference to renewable energy sources such as wind power generator, solar energy and the ability to control the frequency of the generator to restore the frequency to the allowable range and reduce the amount of load that needs to be shed. Computing the load importance factor (LIF) using AHP algorithm supports to determine the order of which load to be shed. The damaged outcome of load shedding, thus, will be noticeably reduced. The experimental results of this proposed method is demonstrated by simulating on IEEE 16-Bus microgrid system with six power sources
Effect of fly ash on mechanical properties and morphology of plasterboard based on recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate)
The purpose of this study was to synthesize plasterboard based on recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and fly ash. The molecular weight determination of unsaturated polyester (UP) from recycled PET was performed by functional titration method. The effect of initiator, benzoyl peroxide (BPO) on the curing kinetic of UP from recycled PET was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and at 2 phr BPO led to good curing process. The content of fly ash (50, 100, 150, 200 phr) at 2007 nm in diameter was used and the effect of fly ash content on some properties such as flexural strength, vickers hardness, and impact strength of plasterboard was researched. Test results showed an increase in mechanical properties, especially at 150 and 175 phr filler amount. In addition, the morphology of plasterboard at different fly ash contents was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Also, chemical resistance of plasterboard was evaluated from the weight change in different chemical environment. Keywords. Unsaturated polyester, Recycled PET, Fly ash, Plasterboard
