Thermal Effects for Shaft-Pre-Stress on Rotor Dynamic System
This Paper outlines study behaviour of rotating shaft with high speed under
thermal effects. The method of obtaining the frequency response functions of a
rotor system with study whirl effect in this revision the raw data obtained
from the experimental results (using Smart Office program) are curve-fitted by
theoretical data regenerated from some of the experimental data and simulating
it using finite element (ANSYS 12). (FE) models using the Eigen analysis
capability were used to simulate the vibration. The results were compared with
experimental data show analysis data with acceptable accuracy and performance.
The rotating effect causes un-symmetry in the system matrices, resulting in
complexity in decoupling the mathematical models of the system for the purpose
of modal analysis. Different method is therefore required, which can handle
general system matrices rather than symmetrical matrices, which is normal for
passive structures. Mathematical model of the system from the test data can be
assembled. The frequency response functions are extracted, Campbell diagram are
draw and simulated. (FE) is used to carry out such as simulation since it has
good capability for Eigen analysis and also good graphical facility.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumour as a rare association with neurofibromatosis type 1
Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) are rare tumours of mesenchymal origin. These can be associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), which is an autosomal dominant disorder. The prevalence of GIST in NF1 is estimated at 3.9-25%. This paper describes the presentation of a GIST arising from the jejenum in a 75-year-old lady with NF1, who presented with gastrointestinal bleeding. This was diagnosed by CT angiography. She was managed with laparotomy, with resection of small bowel, and an ischaemic segment of large bowel with two primary anastomoses. Pathology showed GIST of spindle cell type (Figs 3 and 4), 90 mm in size, with complete local excision. The patient was discharged on the eighth post-operative day and is currently undergoing regular clinic follow-up after multidisciplinary team meeting discussion
Conceptual Framework Of Bidding Strategy In Order To Improve Construction Project Performance
Globalization makes the competition of construction is increasingly tight. The competitors faced not only in the regional district/city, province, but increasingly widespread, even cross the country worldwide. Bidding strategy is an important factor that improves competitiveness. It defines as a management skills of using all available resources both physical and financial, in
order to offer a comprehensive and competitive bidding. The bidders usually consider various aspects, including internal, external and environment, with aim to win the bidding competition, and provide maximum project performance. The literature review method is used to create ideas, and synthesize the related researches which have been done previously. This paper aims to develop a framework that can be used for evaluation in the early stages of project selection, based on theriview of various literature related to bidding strategies and project performance. The result from the literature review concerning are presented, and a conceptual framework of bidding strategy model is developed
Integrating vocational training in culinary arts and Islamic studies at juvenile rehabilitation centres: Malaysian experience
The Juvenile Rehabilitation Centres (JRC) in Malaysia aims to provide shelter, counselling and skills training to juveniles specifically for those who wish to transform themselves from the regrettable misdeeds they have committed. At JRCs, an integrated Culinary Vocational Training and Islamic education forms part of their training curriculum. The skills acquired should enable trainees to secure jobs upon completion of training. However, there are some training institutions that lack systematic training structures resulting in trainees becoming less skilful in both vocational and Islamic education. The objective of this research is to identify the effectiveness of an integrated Culinary and Islamic Education curriculum implemented at JRCs in Malaysia. This is a descriptive survey and data was obtained using questionnaire and interview. Respondents comprised 92 trainees, four managers, four culinary trainers and four Islamic education teachers, all from four different JRCs. The findings show that the trainees are happy with their trainings that brought about positive effects for them. Some suggestions have been made to provide improvements in the implementation of the course among them the inclusion of prayers in the Islamic education syllabus
Fishery, stock assessment and management of the barracuda resource in India
The annual landings of barracuda increased from 1996 t
in 1969 to 14679 t in 1995. During 1985-93 on an average 8332 I
was landed and it constituted 0.44% oj the total marine fish catch,
in India. The statewise contribution was Tamilnadu 3925 t (47.7%),
Kerala 2471 t (30.0%), Andhra Pradesh 457 t (5.6%), Gujarat 420 t
(5.1%). Maharashtra 416 t (5.0%), Karnataka 340 t (4.1%,),
Pondicherry 98 i (1.2%), Orissa 71 t (0.9%) and Goa 29 t (0.4%>j.
Four species Sphyraena obtusata, S.Jello, S. picuda and S.Jorsieri
sustained the barracuda fishery in India. The growth paralmeters
like Loa K, to: length weight relationships and natural mortality of S.
obtusata S.Jello and S. picuda have been calculated The total mortality
rate, fishing mortality rate generated by the trawl and drift
gillnets and stock have been estimated for these three species. At
present S. obtusata is under exploited by trawlnet and S.Jello and
S. picuda are exposed to high fishing pressure by drift gillnets. The
production may be increased by intensifying the exploitation in the
deeper waters beyond 100 m depth. Suggestions and recommendations
for proper management of the fishery have been propose
