With the challenges of the 21st century, there seems to be an urgent need to reflect more on the way literature constructs the world for the sensitive age group of young adults. In this vein, the present paper is an attempt to investigate the way time, place and society are linguistically portrayed for young adults in the interesting literary genre of dystopia science fiction. This attempt is the track that the paper pursues to find out why and how the young adult readers get so indulged with the world of dystopia science fiction. The young adult seems to reconstruct the dystopic science fiction temporal, special and social atmosphere with the aid of language. Thus, there must be a certain linguistic structure for the construction of the three vital elements of the world (time, place and society) in this literary genre. To achieve its aims, the paper combines the concept of deixis with Werth’s (1999) Text World Theory. For more precise results, the corpus linguistics tools of concordance and frequency are employed by using Anthony’s (2019) AntConc software. The data consists of eight young adult dystopia science fiction works; Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games Trilogy (2008-2010) (a series of three novels) and James Dashner’s The Maze Runner (2009- 2016) (a series of five novels)

Multi-Hop Selective Constructive Interference Flooding Protocol For Wireless Sensor Networks

Connectivity is a critical issue in WSNs, as the data collected needs to be sent to the base station or the processing centers. Low connectivity due to the limited radio range of sensor nodes and random distribution leads the network to be partitioned into disconnected groups, which can interrupt or completely prevent communication between nodes. For effective communication, each node must be located close enough to each other. Improper positioning of the nodes can cause a failure in sending or receiving radio signals, resulting in a segmented or incomplete network. A Multi-Hop Selective Constructive Interference Flooding (MSCIF) protocol is proposed to address the problem of low connectivity in WSNs with a sparse distribution and improve the network’s lifetime. MSCIF integrates three main algorithms: clustering algorithm, selection algorithm, and a synchronized flooding. The first step of the proposed protocol involves the development of an energy efficient clustering algorithm which is appropriate for WSN with a sparse density topology. Clustering is necessary in the proposed protocol as it helps to exclude nodes that are far away from other nodes, which consume a lot of energy. The stages of clustering are: initialization, scheduling, and clustering. The second step in MSCIF protocol involves designing a selection algorithm to select the minimum connected dominating nodes. This is to improve the network reliability and control the energy consumption by reducing the number of cooperating nodes. The third step is applying a fast-synchronized flooding to achieve a constructive interference at the receiver to improve the received signal strength and improve connectivity

Eighty-Nine Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) patients experience chromosomal rearrangements called Copy Number Alteration (CNA), where the cells have abnormal number of copies in one or more regions in their genome, this genetic alteration are known to drive cancer development. An important aim of this thesis is to propose a way to combine the clinical covariate as fixed predictors with CNAs genomics windows as smoothing terms using the penalized additive Cox Proportional Hazards (PH) model. Most of the proposed prediction methods assume linearity of the CNAs genomic windows along with the clinical covariates. However, the continuous covariates can affect the hazard via more complicated nonlinear functional forms. Therefore, Cox PH model with continuous covariate are likely misspecified, because it is not fitting the correct functional form for the continuous covariates. Some reports of the work on combining the clinical covariates with high-dimensional genomic data in a clinical genomic prediction are based on standard Cox PH model. Most of them focus on applying variable selection to high-dimensional CNA genomic data. Our main interest is to propose a variable selection procedure to select important nonlinear effects from CNAs genomic-windows. Two different approaches of feature selection are presented which are discrete and shrinkage. Discrete feature selection is based on penalized univariate variable selection, which identify the subset of the CNAs genomic-windows have the strongest effects on the survival time, while feature selection by shrinkage works by adding a second penalty to the penalized partial log-likelihood, that leads to penalizing the smoothing coefficients in the model, as a result some of the smoothing coefficient are being set to the zero. For the NSCLC dataset, we find that the size of the tumor cells and spread cancer into the lymph nodes are significant factors that increase the hazard of the patients survival, and the estimate of the smooth log hazard ratio curves identify that some of the significant CNA genomic-windows contribute a higher or lower hazard of death to the survival of some significant CNA genomic-windows across the genome

Hexacopter has the ability to fly in the air can be used as an air monitoring system. To get the video or images that have good quality then it is used gimbal camera as a movement stabilizer and vibration damping. Stabilization System consists of two axes, x axis (roll) and y axis (pitch) and has a 2-axis camera gimbal controller which is have microcontroller ATMEGA 328 that serves to regulate the stability of the gimbal camera. The Input of this system is derived from accelerometer and gyroscope sensors that are within the sensor module MPU 6050, to determine the tilt position of hexacopter. The output of this sensor will be filtered first using complementary filters that serve to reduce noise of both sensors and complement advantages and disadvantages of each sensor. The output of this system is the movement of two brushless motors, brushless roll and pitch, that are controlled with Sugeno fuzzy logic method because it has a simple calculation so the response is faster and more suitable for real-time applications. From the case study with the data of the roll at by 35 º and pitch at by 17 º resulting PWM duty cycle value by -69.47% roll and pitch resulting PWM duty cycle value by -25.5 %, where (-) represents the direction of movement

Implicative algebras and Heyting algebras can be residuated lattices

The commutative residuated lattices were first introduced by M. Ward and R.P. Dilworth as generalization of ideal lattices of rings. Complete studies on residuated lattices were developed by H. Ono, T. Kowalski, P. Jipsen and C. Tsinakis. Also, the concept of lattice implication algebra is due to Y. Xu. And Luitzen Brouwer founded the mathematical philosophy of intuitionism, which believed that a statement could only be demonstrated by direct proof. Arend Heyting, a student of Brouwer’s, formalized this thinking into his namesake algebras. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between implicative algebras, Heyting algebras and residuated lattices. In fact, we show that implicative algebras and Heyting algebras can be described as residuated lattices
