    Pengaruh Berbagai Jenis Penggumpal Padat Terhadap Mutu Koagulum Dan Vulkanisat Karet Alam

    Mutu bahan olah karet masih rendah dan bervariasi akibat tidak tersedianya koagulan yang baik sampai ke tingkat petani. Penggunaan koagulan yang tepat untuk menghasilkan bokar bermutu baik masih belum sepenuhnya dilakukan akibat belum tersedianya koagulan yang mudah didistribusikan, kompetitif dari segi harga, dan tidak merusak mutu karet. Penelitian ini mempelajari pengaruh berbagai jenis penggumpal padat terhadap mutu koagulum dan vulkanisat karet alam. Bahan penggumpal ditambahkan ke dalam lateks kebun berpengawet ammonia pada dosis 7g/kg karet. Lateks yang telah diberi perlakuan dibiarkan menggumpal selama dua minggu, selanjutnya karet digiling dan dikeringkan dalam oven pada suhu 100°C selama 2-3 jam. Karet kering diuji sifat kimianya (PRI, kadar kotoran, kadar abu, dan kadar zat menguap), setelah itu dibuat vulkanisat dengan resep kompon ASTM 2A. Kompon karet diuji karakteristik vulkanisasinya dengan rheometer, kemudian vulkanisat diuji sifat fisika (kekuatan tarik, perpanjangan putus, modulus 300 % dan kekerasan). Sebagai pembanding digunakan asam format. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan asam organik dan garam anorganik sebagai bahan penggumpal memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Kombinasi antara bahan asam dengan garam anorganik diharapkan dapat memberikan hasil yang lebih baik sehingga mutu bahan olah karet akan meningkat.     Nowadays electronic mail (e-mail) is a communication tool that is often used in everyday life. One of the utilizations of e-mail is used in practical purposes such as making a request. This paper provided views on linguistic politeness in submitting an e-mail containing the request based on e-mail data written by native speakers of Japanese (J) and the Indonesian Japanese language learners (IJL). The data was analyzed using the theory of politeness expressed by Brown and Levinson. This paper focused on the strategy that what more likely was to be used by J and IJL in the expression of request. In the final part, it concluded the view about what should be considered in connection with the linguistic politeness in Japanese e-mail containing request. It was intended for learners of foreign language, especially Indonesian people, to know the limitation of politeness, so that IJL will not repeat the same mistakes in the future

    Analisis Penanggulangan Kemiskinan Melalui Implementasi Program Dana Bergulir Badan Amil Zakat Kota Bandung

    This article analyzes and evaluates the implementation of poverty alleviation program run by Zakat Collector (BAZ) in Bandung Mucipality. Just like other zakat collectors in Indonesia, BAZ of Bandung Mucipality has various development programs for poverty alleviation, including what is to be called revolving fund project. The aim of revolving fund project is to support the poor to run micro business. Based on fieldwork in Bandung, this article exmanines the problems and difficulties faced by the zakat collector in running development-oriented project and how poverty alleviation are still hard to reach. In evaluating the implementation of poverty alleviation program in Bandung, this article highlights five aspects, including communication, human resource, disposition, bureaucratic structures, and social-economic condition. This article concludes that one of the problems faced by zakat collector is ineffectiveness of communitation between zakat collectors in District and Sub-District levels, as well as lack of capacity among the staff in sub-district level in providing technical assistance for zakat beneficiaries

    Women and Hoax News Processing on WhatsApp

    The word hoax became popular with the development of technology that has potentially increased the circulation of hoax news. One of the ways hoax news circulates is through mobile instant messaging applications like WhatsApp, where users can interact directly, or between individuals who are members of a group. In Indonesia, by 2017, WhatsApp was the most used and the longestused mobile instant messaging application, having 35.87 million users. This study focuses on women using WhatsApp, as previous studies have shown that women dominate social media use in Indonesia. Using the elaboration likelihood model, this study aimed to investigate how women process hoax messages about child abduction on WhatsApp. The results of research through interviews and surveys indicate that women tend to process hoax messages about the abduction of children through peripheral lines. The lack of media literacy and the tendency to prioritize the emotional aspects of a story make some women vulnerable to spreading hoaxes through WhatsApp. In this study, the researchers recommend a digital empowerment movement to improve women\u27s media literacy through an online lecture model on WhatsApp. This program should be professionally managed by experts or academics from relevant fields of study

    Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness in People with Diabetes; Biomarkers and Nutritional Supplementation

    Exercise is important for controlling hemoglobin A1c, and maintaining proper glycemic control in people with diabetes. Exercise also increases the diabetics overall insulin sensitivity, and decreases their dependency on diabetes medication. However, people with diabetes are faced with metabolic and endothelial impairment, which could result in a prolonged sensation of muscle soreness following exercise. This would make it difficult for these people to sustain exercise regimes. Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is a common problem in healthy individuals and in people who have diabetes. DOMS is a painful sensation experienced by individuals who have been recently inactive and then over-exercise. Yet, because people with diabetes usually have neuropathies, they may not feel this soreness appropriately, leading to premature return to exercise and causing further injuries. Therefore, this investigation assessed the differences in DOMS between people with diabetes, and healthy individuals, at 2 different body regions. However, DOMS is mainly measured with subjective scales, but we wanted to establish a new objective measure. Infra-red (IR) thermal imaging was used as one of the biomarkers in this assessment, and after expanding on this technique, it was considered a valid and relaible tool for detecting and quantifying delayed onset muscle soreness after an intense exercise session. Once muscle soreness in people with diabetes was determined, and a new novel biomarker was established, another focus of this dissertation was to examine whether DOMS could be attenuated by ingesting a nutritional supplement. Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) have been shown to be effective in promoting muscle recovery following exercise; however, the effects of this supplement have not been investigated amongst diabetic individuals. The results of this experiment showed that people with diabetes get sorer than healthy individuals. It was also found that IR thermal imaging may be a valuable technique for identifying which muscles are sore after exercising. Thus, thermal imaging would be an efficient and painless way of quantifying DOMS in both healthy individuals and in people with diabetes. Furthermore, this investigation showed that BCAA significantly reduced muscle soreness and enhanced healing in subjects with diabetes. However, in the healthy control group this supplement had minimal effects

    Pemodelan Bangunan Cagar Budaya Gereja Blenduk Untuk Konservasi Dengan Metode Terrestrial Laser Scanner

    Heritage building has built from natural or human made objects full fill the space of walls and or no walls and roof. As a favorite tourist destination in the province of Central Java-Semarang has many options right to visit, one of them is the old town area. A building that must be visited in the old town area namely Blenduk Church was built in 1753. The building more than 250 years old was made Blenduk church very reasonable to be a heritage building. Therefore, it needs conservation and preservation to keep the authenticity of the building.The development of surveying and mapping are very rapid. In this modern era, the using of terrestrial laser scanner technology can gives the solution to document of a building and topography measurements. Laser scanner is use to measurement the difficult objects which need a high degree of precision. Data collection was carried out with the FARO Laser Scanner Focus 3D technology that is using target to target registration method. Result of data scanning process is point clouds data in three dimension state. The data processing use software Scene 5.1 in this measurement.In this final task research, the result achieved was 3D model of Blenduk church heritage building. The data processing use software Autodesk Revit 2014 to create a 3D solid model. The result of registration data is reach the total number RMS value 0.032 m, with an average of RMS value 0.004 m in each scanworld. The measurement result of TLS and ETS was tested the size of the length between sides to knew the quality of measurement result data with the final result of RMS around 0.00446318 m
