    Customer satisfaction level toward public hospital’s healthy cafeteria in Sabah / Rafidzah D.K.... [et al.]

    Customer satisfaction is influenced by factors such as food quality, service quality and price consequently affected their perception. This study was conducted to determine customer satisfaction level and to identify the difference between demographic profiles. A total of 321 respondents from healthy cafeterias located in public hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The tests used are descriptive test, Mann- Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis. The results show for food quality, various healthy menu items offered scored the highest mean (4.86±1.41) and food temperature based on customer preference scored the lowest mean (4.14±1.58). For service quality, presence of physical facilities scored the highest mean (5.44±1.28) and special routes for patients, senior citizens are provided scored the lowest mean (3.15±1.64) and for last factor which is price, the price is cheaper than nearby food establishments scored the highest mean (4.63±1.54) and price charged for each kind of dish is suitable is scored the lowest mean (4.40±1.57). Between three factor only price has a significant difference (p<0.05) with the demographic factors such as age, race, religion, education level, occupation, monthly income and visiting intentions except gender. In conclusion customers at Healthy Cafeteria take price as a vital factor in assessing their satisfaction level

    The title compound, 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazole-5-thione (1), was synthesized by a hetero-cyclization reaction of 4-chlorophenyl isothiocyanate and formic hydrazide. Compound 1 was characterized by a single-crystal X-ray structure determination as well as 1H and 13C{1H} NMR, IR, and UV spectroscopy, and microelemental analysis. X-ray crystallography on 1 confirms the molecule exists as the thione tautomer and shows the five-membered ring to be planar and to form a dihedral angle of 82.70(5)° with the appended chlorophenyl ring, indicating an almost orthogonal relationship. In the molecular packing, supramolecular dimers are formed via thioamide-N–H⋯S(thione) hydrogen bonds and these are connected by C=S⋯π(triazolyl) and C-Cl⋯π(triazolyl) interactions, leading to a three-dimensional architectur

    On solving fuzzy delay differential equation using bezier curves

    In this article, we plan to use Bezier curves method to solve linear fuzzy delay differential equations. A Bezier curves method is presented and modified to solve fuzzy delay problems taking the advantages of the fuzzy set theory properties. The approximate solution with different degrees is compared to the exact solution to confirm that the linear fuzzy delay differential equations process is accurate and efficient. Numerical example is explained and analyzed involved first order linear fuzzy delay differential equations to demonstrate these proper features of this proposed problem

    Numerical algorithm for solving second order nonlinear fuzzy initial value problems

    The purpose of this analysis would be to provide a computational technique for the numerical solution of second-order nonlinear fuzzy initial value (FIVPs). The idea is based on the reformulation of the fifth order Runge Kutta with six stages (RK56) from crisp domain to the fuzzy domain by using the definitions and properties of fuzzy set theory to be suitable to solve second order nonlinear FIVP numerically. It is shown that the second order nonlinear FIVP can be solved by RK56 by reducing the original nonlinear equation intoa system of couple first order nonlinear FIVP. The findings indicate that the technique is very efficient and simple to implement and satisfy the Fuzzy solution properties. The method’s potential is demonstrated by solving nonlinear second-order FIVP

    Vaccine hesitancy toward the COVID-19 vaccine among the Malaysian population

    COVID-19 is a potentially fatal infectious disease that requires effective vaccines to keep the outbreak under control. Despite the ongoing efforts for an effective vaccine, public hesitancy towards vaccines is now one of the main concerns to the global health in containing this global pandemic. Thus, this preliminary study was carried out to assess the degree of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among the general public in Malaysia and to identify the underlying reasons for their hesitancy by using 5C psychological antecedents of vaccination. This study was conducted by carrying out a cross-sectional online survey for approximately two months between January to February 2021, involving 385 participants. The survey contained questions based on the 5C model proffered by WHO. The data from the survey were analyzed using Smart PLS 3 for statistical analysis, with the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). According to the findings, only 62.5 percent out of the 385 participants had planned to get the COVID-19 vaccine, while the remaining 37.5 percent did not. The results also showed that confidence, calculation, collective responsibility, and constraints had a significant influence on vaccine hesitancy but not complacency. There is a degree of vaccine hesitancy towards the COVID-19 vaccines among the Malaysian population, although the data that we have obtained cannot be used to generalize for the entire Malaysian population due to the small sample size. Thus, for the vaccination campaign to be more effective, it should focus more on addressing the issue relating to confidence, calculation, collective responsibility, and constraints and less on complacency

    Wandering spleen: a unique cause of acute abdomen

    We present the case of a 16-year-old boy presented with 2-week episode of wor­sening lower abdominal pain. Clinically, there was a tender palpable mass on the suprapubic region. Ultrasonography showed an absent spleen at its usual area, instead suprapubic mass suggestive of ectopic spleen was identified. An emer­gency laparotomy revealed a congested spleen in the pelvic cavity. Splenectomy was undertaken as it was non-viable. The patient was discharged uneventfully with triple vaccinations.     Facile synthesis of silver nanoparticles under γ-irradiation: effect of chitosan concentration

    In the present study, a biopolymer, low molecular weight chitosan had been utilized as a “green” stabilizing agent for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles under γ‐irradiation. The as‐synthesized silver nanoparticles have particle diameters in the range of 5 nm–30 nm depending on the percentage of chitosan used (0.1 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1.0 wt% & 2.0 wt%). It was found that the yield of the silver nanoparticles was in accordance with the concentration of chitosan presence in the solution due to the reduction by the chitosan radical during irradiation. The highly stable chitosan encapsulated silver nanoparticles were characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV‐Visible spectrophotometer (UV‐VIS) and X‐ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD)

    Characterization of the Antibiotic Compound No. 70 Produced by Streptomyces sp. IMV-70

    We describe the actinomycete strain IMV-70 isolated from the soils of Kazakhstan, which produces potent antibiotics with high levels of antibacterial activity. After the research of its morphological, chemotaxonomic, and cultural characteristics, the strain with potential to be developed further as a novel class of antibiotics with chemotherapeutics potential was identified as Streptomyces sp. IMV-70. In the process of fermentation, the strain Streptomyces spp. IMV-70 produces the antibiotic no. 70, which was isolated from the culture broth by extraction with organic solvents. Antibiotic compound no. 70 was purified and separated into individual components by HPLC, TLC, and column chromatography methods. The main component of the compound is the antibiotic 70-A, which was found to be identical to the peptolide etamycin A. Two other antibiotics 70-B and 70-C have never been described and therefore are new antibiotics. The physical-chemical and biological characteristics of these preparations were described and further researched. Determination of the optimal growth conditions to cultivate actinomycete-producer strain IMV-70 and development of methods to isolate, purify, and accumulate preparations of the new antibiotic no. 70 enable us to research further the potential of this new class of antibiotics

    1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)imidazolidine-2-thione (1) was obtained as a product from an in situ reaction between N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine, carbon disulfide, potassium hydroxide, and di(4-fluorobenzyl)tin dichloride. Compound 1 was characterized by IR, UV, 1H, 13C{1H}, and 2D (COSY, NOESY, HSQC, and HMBC) NMR spectroscopies. The cyclic molecular structure was confirmed by single crystal X-ray crystallography which showed the five-membered ring to be non-planar and the π-electron density to be localized over the CN2S chromophore. In the crystal, thioamide–N–H . . . O(hydroxy) and hydroxy–O–H . . . S(thione) hydrogen bonds lead to supramolecular layers in the bc-plane

    This paper discusses the use of biharmonic cubic Said-Ball surfaces in image enlargement area. Resizing an image through up sampling or down sampling is generally common for making smaller image fit a bigger screen in full screen mode or reducing a higher resolution image to a smaller resolution. However due to some limitation, this paper will focus on image enlargement based on scaling factor of two. We use biharmonic cubic Said-Ball subject to a given four boundary curves condition respectively. We implement and evaluate the performance of the proposed method based on peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) indicator using well-known gray-scale test images
