Stable Marriage with Multi-Modal Preferences
We introduce a generalized version of the famous Stable Marriage problem, now
based on multi-modal preference lists. The central twist herein is to allow
each agent to rank its potentially matching counterparts based on more than one
"evaluation mode" (e.g., more than one criterion); thus, each agent is equipped
with multiple preference lists, each ranking the counterparts in a possibly
different way. We introduce and study three natural concepts of stability,
investigate their mutual relations and focus on computational complexity
aspects with respect to computing stable matchings in these new scenarios.
Mostly encountering computational hardness (NP-hardness), we can also spot few
islands of tractability and make a surprising connection to the \textsc{Graph
Isomorphism} problem
Magnetic-field effects on photon-induced quantum transport in a single dot-cavity system
In this study, we show how a static magnetic field can control photon-induced
electron transport through a quantum dot system coupled to a photon cavity. The
quantum dot system is connected to two electron reservoirs and exposed to an
external perpendicular static magnetic field. The propagation of electrons
through the system is thus influenced by the static magnetic and the dynamic
photon fields. It is observed that the photon cavity forms photon replica
states controlling electron transport in the system. IF the photon field has
more energy than the cyclotron energy, then the photon field is dominant in the
electron transport. Consequently, the electron transport is enhanced due to
activation of photon replica states. By contrast, the electron transport is
suppressed in the system when the photon energy is smaller than the cyclotron

Integrating vocational training in culinary arts and Islamic studies at juvenile rehabilitation centres: Malaysian experience
The Juvenile Rehabilitation Centres (JRC) in Malaysia aims to provide shelter, counselling and skills training to juveniles specifically for those who wish to transform themselves from the regrettable misdeeds they have committed. At JRCs, an integrated Culinary Vocational Training and Islamic education forms part of their training curriculum. The skills acquired should enable trainees to secure jobs upon completion of training. However, there are some training institutions that lack systematic training structures resulting in trainees becoming less skilful in both vocational and Islamic education. The objective of this research is to identify the effectiveness of an integrated Culinary and Islamic Education curriculum implemented at JRCs in Malaysia. This is a descriptive survey and data was obtained using questionnaire and interview. Respondents comprised 92 trainees, four managers, four culinary trainers and four Islamic education teachers, all from four different JRCs. The findings show that the trainees are happy with their trainings that brought about positive effects for them. Some suggestions have been made to provide improvements in the implementation of the course among them the inclusion of prayers in the Islamic education syllabus
New Record of the Genus Porphyridium Purpureum From Kurdistan
The present work deals with the rare species and seldom in occurrence and distribution. It is terrestrial, freshwater unicellular red algae Porphyridium purpureum (Bory de Saint-Vincent) Drew, K.M. & Ross, R. (1965). Species and ecological information of the area are given in context. This genus is a new record to Kurdistan. This algae was observed and collected from Gali-Ali Beg Valley mountain area on rocks within Erbil province, Iraqi Kurdistan region, on several occasions from the moist shaded area on rocks during the spring season. Information's on taxonomic status, morphological characteristic with reproduction features and habitats of this species as a new record to Kurdistan were reported
Angular dependence of domain wall resistivity in artificial magnetic domain structures
We exploit the ability to precisely control the magnetic domain structure of
perpendicularly magnetized Pt/Co/Pt trilayers to fabricate artificial domain
wall arrays and study their transport properties. The scaling behaviour of this
model system confirms the intrinsic domain wall origin of the
magnetoresistance, and systematic studies using domains patterned at various
angles to the current flow are excellently described by an angular-dependent
resistivity tensor containing perpendicular and parallel domain wall
resistivities. We find that the latter are fully consistent with Levy-Zhang
theory, which allows us to estimate the ratio of minority to majority spin
carrier resistivities, rho-down/rho-up~5.5, in good agreement with thin film

The Deepest Supernova Search is Realized in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field Survey
The Hubble Ultra Deep Field Survey has not only provided the deepest optical
and near infrared views of universe, but has enabled a search for the most
distant supernovae to z~2.2. We have found four supernovae by searching spans
of integrations of the Ultra Deep Field and the Ultra Deep Field Parallels
taken with the Hubble Space Telescope paired with the Advanced Camera for
Surveys and the Near Infrared Multi Object Spectrometer. Interestingly, none of
these supernovae were at z>1.4, despite the substantially increased sensitivity
per unit area to such objects over the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey.
We present the optical photometric data for the four supernovae. We also show
that the low frequency of Type Ia supernovae observed at z>1.4 is statistically
consistent with current estimates of the global star formation history combined
