Design and Synthesis of Novel Tylophorine Analogs and their Biological Activity

    Get PDF
Alkaloids containing the nitrogen atom in the bridgehead position of two rings, such as indolizidine, pyrrolizidine, and quinolizidine alkaloids, have a wide and varied distribution in nature. Some of these alkaloids demonstrate a broad range of pharmacological activities and have generated substantial synthetic interest. This thesis covers the total synthesis of novel tylophorine analogs called DCB 3503, DCB 3506, DCB 3507, DCB 3508, DCB 3509, and a derivative with a biotinylated chain attached to DCB 3506 for use as a biological probe. This thesis discusses the biological activity of these compounds as well

Impact of Policy Scenarios in Irrigated Agriculture of River Guadalquivir Basin (Southern Spain)

This paper integrates indicators of environmental, social and economic impact of a range of policy scenarios through the use of Multicriteria and Multiperiod Programming. The case study is irrigated agriculture in the basin of the River Guadalquivir, and the policy scenarios combined Common Agricultural Policy and Water Framework Directive implementation in the period 2001-2010. The model is applied to a representative number of farming systems that attempt to offer a satisfactory description of the productive diversity of the basin. Results indicate that there are significant differences in the impact in the three dimensions (environmental, social and economic), according to the possible evolution of policy, market and technical futures. We believe that the integration of indicators into multicriteria models is a powerful system for building policy support tools for sounder decision making in the implementation of a future normative which will affect agricultural production in Europe, and that these tools can be used to deal with new questions that face agriculture (genetically modified organisms, new CAP, etc.)agricultural scenarios, indicators of sustainability, multicriteria models, multiperiod programming, Agricultural and Food Policy,

K-teoría bivariante de álgebras localmente convexas Z-graduadas

In the present work, we describe some results about the K-theory of Z-graded algebras. First, in the context of C* algebras, we begin with the Pimsner-Voiculescu sequence for crossed products and its generalizations. We will see that there are results analog to these in the context of locally convex algebras and we conclude with results for generalized Weyl algebras.

    Get PDF
The students of basic secondary education require a platform that provides them with more interactive learning of mathematics. MathWeb Education arises because of the low performance of mathematics in the country's educational institutions and also because of the low results in the ICFES tests in the area of mathematics. There is a need to move from a traditional model of teaching mathematics to the use of TICS with a different learning methodology. Brunner's learning methodology is incorporated into the platform, student learning is guided, dynamic and tests their knowledge. The objective is to socialize preliminary results based on the market study carried out in the participation of the phase discovery of digital business in person of apps.co at the end of 2019, the approach of the students' problem in learning mathematics was validated, thus obtaining a value proposition for our project and development of a small prototype as a platform.Los estudiantes de básica secundaria requieren de una plataforma que les brinde aprendizaje de las matemáticas de forma más interactiva. It's good for students when parents work with teachers to design and produce their education.

The New York City Department of Education has long recognized the role of parent involvement in student academic achievement. Indeed, parents and teachers can work together to 'coproduce' educational services to benefit student achievement. However, we do not know what kind of coproduction directly and effectively supports educational attainment. In a new research, Julio Zambrano-Gutiérrez, Amanda Rutherford, and Sean Nicholson-Crotty ..

Recent advances in transient imaging: A computer graphics and vision perspective

    Get PDF
Transient imaging has recently made a huge impact in the computer graphics and computer vision fields. By capturing, reconstructing, or simulating light transport at extreme temporal resolutions, researchers have proposed novel techniques to show movies of light in motion, see around corners, detect objects in highly-scattering media, or infer material properties from a distance, to name a few. The key idea is to leverage the wealth of information in the temporal domain at the pico or nanosecond resolution, information usually lost during the capture-time temporal integration. This paper presents recent advances in this field of transient imaging from a graphics and vision perspective, including capture techniques, analysis, applications and simulation
