The possibility to access communication and information is indispensable to achieve equality of opportunities and full citizenship participation. However, people with some sort of handicap find themselves with environments, services and products inaccessible for them and making their daily life more difficult. Communication barriers are those obstacles that prevent these people to access information. Advance in information technologies and communications, diminishing in hardware costs and information transmission rates allows us today to develop tools that give people with special needs access to new technologies. CIM Fundation has been collaborating in the development of an accessible and ubiquitous platform for people with special needs as part of his participation in the INREDIS project within the CENIT Program. The objective of this project is the development of a system that offers a multiplatform, adaptive and natural interface that responds with intelligence to the user’s needs. Una aproximación práctica para el diseño de un proceso de reciclado de polímeros mediante disolución

La cantidad de residuos plásticos producidos en los últimos años se ha visto incrementada debido a la variedad de usos y las buenas propiedades que estos presentan. Por este motivo, es necesario ofrecer soluciones que permitan un reciclaje adecuado a cada tipo de residuo, siguiendo con las normativas vigentes. Entre las alternativas desarrolladas se encuentran el reciclado mecánico, químico y la incineración, sin embargo, estos metodos cuentan con determinados inconvenientes que dificultan su aplicación. Para solventar estos, se propone el tratamiento de los residuos mediante disolución, lo que implica la seleccion adecuada del mejor disolvente, con el objetivo de tratar la máxima cantidad de plástico posible. Esta selección se desarrolla siguiendo una serie de modelos teóricos que permiten el cálculo del parametro de solubilidad (d), y su interpretación a traves de distintos metodos gráficos que permiten seleccionar de manera sencilla los disolventes más adecuados. Por último, tambíen se muestran estrategias de cálculo para conocer las condiciones de operación que vienen definidas por una concentración y temperatura críticas, que limitan la región en la que la disolución permanece estable, y por tanto, es posible realizar el proceso de reciclado

Transparency and quality of information on local administration websites. Study of the Spanish case

This article analyses the information and content of Spanish local administration websites following the application of the Law of Transparency. The aim is to analyze in depth issues related to the information available on political representatives, the management of economic resources, information on the municipality and the tools citizens have at their disposal for their participation. The quantitative method analyses the transparency of the city councils individually from a table of widely compared 52 variables (indicators), validating their compliance or not with each during the period February to November 2018. The sample analyzed in this study consists of 605 Spanish municipalities. Although within academic literature debate already exists that focuses primarily on theoretical abstractions, this study allows us to empirically determine whether after the national approval of transparency regulation there really has been an improvement in public information for citizens to be able to hold their local governments accountable. The results indicate that, based on regional and national transparency policies, the situation is better than in the years prior to the law, although there is still much room for improvement, especially in issues related to information regarding the management of economic resources such as budgets, salaries, hiring and subsidies

Identification and characterization of the TonB region and its role in transferrin-mediated iron acquisition in Haemophilus parasuis

12 p.Haemophilus parasuis is the causative agent of Glässer's disease, which is responsible for considerable economic losses in the pigrearing industry. The aim of the study reported here was the identification, sequencing and molecular characterization of the TonB region that includes tonB, exbBD, and tbpBA genes in H. parasuis. In addition, two fusion proteins were generated. One of them (pGEX-6P-1-GST-TbpB) contained the first 501 amino acids of H. parasuis TbpB protein, while the second (pBAD-Thio-TbpBV5- His) included the first 102 amino acids of H. parasuis TbpB N-terminus domain. A panel of 14 hybridomas secreting monoclonal antibodies was raised against the two recombinant TbpB fusion proteins. Furthermore, to assess whether the expression of the H. parasuis ExbB, TbpB, and TbpA proteins was upregulated under conditions of restricted availability of iron, a rabbit polyclonal antibody against H. parasuis TbpB-His fusion protein was produced. A rabbit polyclonal antibody against serotype 7 of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae ExbB and TbpA proteins was also used for the detection of the homologous proteins in H. parasuis. Overall, the data indicate that H. parasuis, like other members of the Pasteurellaceae family, possesses the genetic elements of the TonB region for iron acquisition and the transferrin-binding proteins encoded under this region are upregulated under restricted iron availabilityS

Desarrollamos un método sistemático para la detección de estos conflictos basado en la técnica de rejilla y elaboramos las implicaciones para el proceso terapéutico que sirven como basede un método de análisis de conflictos. Spanish onshore sampling of Lepidorhombus spp.

Working document presented in WGCATCH.Results of Lepidorhombus spp. from the Spanish onshore sampling programme under the Data Collection Framework (2009-2014) are presented. Sampling covers two species (Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis and Lepidorhombus boscii) in ICES Subarea VI, VII, Divisions VIIIabd and Divisions VIIIc-IXa. Fishery description shows the importance of five métiers for these species and the relevance of a small group of ports. A description of the sampling level, sampling design and sampling procedures in relation to landing practices are presented, as well as a brief discussion about further developments to improve the sampling
