    The Journey to MaaS

    Get PDF
Through a pilot project of a real solution for Mobility as a Service (MaaS), municipalities in Business Region Aarhus want to investigate the possibility for creating a more efficient mobility system by integrating public and private mobility services. This calls for a setup that includes both mobility providers, data platform owners, service providers and the travellers. The project demonstrates a new way of organising the mobility system in the region. The demonstration project will combine public transport solutions with private peer-to-peer ridesharing in an integrated solution in a real-life environment. The mobility solution will be based on the principles of MaaS. The main goal of the project is to demonstrate a new way of organising mobility on the foundation of a sound and sustainable business case

Kampagne til opmuntring af trafikanter til brug af miljøvenlige transportformer i Aalborg

Aalborg Kommune deltager i samarbejde med Nordjyllands Trafikselskab i EU-projektet MIDAS. MIDAS står for ”Measures to Influence Transport Demand to Achieve Sustainability”.

A Blockchain-Based Approach Towards Overcoming Financial Fraud in Public Sector Services

    Get PDF
In financial markets it is common for companies and individuals to invest into foreign companies. To avoid the double taxation of investors on dividend payment - both in the country where the profit is generated as well as the country of residence - most governments have entered into bilateral double taxation treaties, whereby investors can claim a tax refund in the country where the profit is generated. Due to easily forgeable documents and insufficient international exchange of information between tax authorities, investors illegitimately apply for these tax returns causing an estimated damage of 1.8 billion USD, for example, in Denmark alone. This paper assesses the potential of a blockchain database to provide a feasible solution for overcoming this problem against the backdrop of recent advances in the public sector and the unique set of blockchain capacities. Towards this end, we develop and evaluate a blockchain-based prototype system aimed at eliminating this type of tax fraud and increasing transparency regarding the flow of dividends. While the prototype is based on the specific context of the Danish tax authority, we discuss how it can be generalized for tracking international and interorganizational transactions

Populist Radical Right Parties into Parliament : Changes in mainstream parties’ political positions in parliamentary debates on immigration and refugees

Do Populist Radical Right Parties have an impact on the attitudes of other parties? Despite drawing much attention from the general public as well as academics, there is no clear answer to this conundrum. In this paper I examine how mainstream political parties change their positions in parliamentary debates on immigration and refugees after Populist Radical Right Parties enter parliament. In order to do this, I use theoretical concepts such as discourse coalitions and storylines in combination with network methodology to map out how parties in the Swedish parliament relate to one another through their attitudes towards key themes in the debate on immigration and refugees. This paper focuses on the relations between parties through language by applying Discourse Network Analysis on parliamentary debates. Thus, it contributes with a new relational aspect and methodological tool on a relatively underutilised material. The findings indicate that there is a change in other parties’ attitudes towards immigration and refugees, with two mainstream right parties moving closer to the Populist Radical Right Party. However, the datatype does not support causal language and the findings are limited due to small amounts of data
