Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Komposit Serat Palem Saray dengan Matriks Epoksi

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pembuatan dan karakterisasi komposit serat palem saray dengan matriks epoksi dengan metode Chopped Strand Mat. Komposisi serat dibuat dengan variasi 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% terhadap massa matriks. Pembuatan komposit serat palem saray yaitu, serat direndam dengan NaOH selama 1 jam, dibilas dengan air bersih dan dikeringkan, kemudian ditimbang. Epoksi dan hardenernya diaduk dengan motor stirrer kemudian dituang ke cetakan dan dipress selama 60 menit pada suhu 70oC. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sifat fisis dan mekanik komposit. Nilai densitas 0,858g/cm3 sampai 1,173g/cm3, nilai daya serap air 0,75 % sampai 4,89 %, nilai kadar air 0,89% sampai 8,94 %, nilai kuat tarik 9,61 MPa sampai 13,14 MPa. nilai kuat lentur 23,52 MPa sampai 104,85Mpa, nilai kuat impak 24,3 kJ/m2 sampai 38,5kJ/m2. Komposit telah memenuhi syarat JIS A 5905:2003. Komposit serat palem saray dengan matriks epoksi dapat direkomendasikan sebagai bahan bemper mobil

Silence and Politeness in Nias Island

The research aims to know the benefits of silence and politeness in Nias Island connected to the value of language and communication. Silence is an attitude of someone in language conducted according to the situation of community. Politeness is a behavior conducted by someone in a community. Nias Island has cultural values still upheld in the modern era. Crystal (2003: 14) says that the fundamental value of a common language presents unprecedented possibilities for mutual understanding and thus enables people to find fresh opportunities for communication. From this it is seen that silence has become a part or an element of a language, commonly termed silent language. In social context, silence is associated with politeness. The ways of speaking, as a part of cultural integrity, show politeness; or in other words it is said that politeness is reflected through language used. A silent person is considered to be polite. Qualitative research method supported by phenomenological approach is applied in the whole study [6]. The findings show that silence and politeness are a part of regional culture in Nias Island and still found in the communities to uplift peace and environmental tranquility.   Keywords: culture, language, silence and politenes

Analisis Economic Value Added (EVA) Dan Market Value Added (MVA) Sebagai Alat Pengukur Kinerja Keuangan PT SA

The company should demonstrate good financial performance to attract investors by financial performance based on value-added and market value. The objectives of this study at PT SA limited were: (1) To analyze the financial performance by Economic Value Added (EVA) method, (2) To analyze the financial performance by Market Value Added (MVA) method. The results showed the company was not able to add economic value to the company, which proved by EVA in 2008 was higher than in 2009. It is concluded that the company can not afford to pay obligations to investors as expected. However, different result showed by MVA, which indicates the company succes to managed the investor confidence over a given capital by increasing the value of capital invested. MVA showed results in 2008, the value of MVA was positive, and in 2009, the company\u27s MVA achieved a significant increase in the amount of 379.42% from the previous year. The share price continued to increase making the MVA values continue to rise
