Admission: Shift work and the associated inversion biological rhythms leads over time to a number of changes in the functioning of the body. Some are compensation after a rest and do not constitute a direct threat to health, while others eventually lead to irreversible psychosomatic. Objective of the work: Identify factors resulting from shift work and their impact on health, and psychosomatic individual spheres of nursing department of anaesthesiology and intensive therapy ii individual spheres of life. research Methodology: The study was conducted in 60 nurses using a survey questionnaire containing sociodemographic data and issues covering the most troublesome factors in shift work, the negative impact on their mental and somatic sphere, used forms of relaxation and the impact on individual spheres of life. In order to determine the hierarchy of the factors affecting the individual spheres of applied five-scale assume "0" for no effect, "1" little effect "2" moderate effect, "3" high impact "4" a very large impact. Results: The largest group (51.7%) were women between 31 and 40 years of age (Avg. 35.0 + - 3.7 years), married (76.9%), having children (72.3%). The largest (46.8%) group is working on his post for less than 10 years. For 72% of the most troublesome is night work, work days generally free from work (38%), differentiation of responsibilities per shift (32%). The most frequent symptoms of psychiatric is chronic fatigue (55%), irritability (40%), and somnolence (45%). Somatic reported 94%, these being mainly back pain and lower extremities, appetite disorders and gastrointestinal disorders. In the opinion of 67% of shift work greatly reduces the duties of parental partnerships (68%) and household chores (67%). Conclusions: 1. Shift work in most subjects affects the health psychosomatic revealing back pain, lower limbs, gastric disorders and eating disorders, and chronic fatigue, irritability and sleepiness. 2. Shift work significantly reduces the execution of parental duties, partnerships and household activities. 3. psychiatric deficits are the least felt by women aged 41 - 50 years of working in shifts 16 - 20 years old and more, which may result from reductions in duties related to raising children. 4. Only 2% of the respondents used the active form of relaxation, and reaches 56% of the drugs

Permanent venous access in patients in intensive care plays a key role in the healing process. A routine branches to assume a central venous catheter to the patient is called a vascular access to the central venous line using a venous or long time. An alternative to this type of injection is the circumferential introduction of central venous (PICC - peripherally inserted central catheter) using long catheters placed e.g.. A vein shoulder or ulna, which is associated with the lack of such serious complications as pneumothorax or catheter of a large artery, but due to the length of the catheter risk of thromboembolic complications is higher in relation to the central access

Supervision should be properly targeted and systematic, and the results must be reliable and accurate, because they are the basis for therapeutic intervention. The success of monitoring depends largely on the nursing staff. The nurse's role is enormous and requires a large resource of expertise and skills of its practical application, since it is the nursing staff spends the most time with the patient and the first notes any changes in the patient. Summary The work consists of three parts, which such issues were discussed on the functioning of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and central nervous system. A nurse is a person who is directly involved in the conduct, measures and draws attention to possible complications, since it is she is the person who spends the most time at the bedside. Development of medical science involves the construction of specialized medical equipment ever more perfect, more expensive, more complicated to build and operate, requiring more and more qualifications treatment team

Introduction: Hypertension is a very common blood disorder common in older people. This disease, as well as many others that often accompany the elderly, affects both the quality of life and to physical activity of seniors. Aim of the work: To assess quality of life and physical fitness of the elderly. Material and methods: The study was conducted among the elderly in Bydgoszcz. The study used standardized questionnaires such as the scale of the ADL, IADL, Barthel, WHO questionnaire QOL- Bref and Legal Data socjodemgraficznych own authorship. Study on variables was performed using Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. Variability presented as the arithmetic mean (M) and standard deviation (SD). The level of significance p ≤ 0.05 considered statistically significant. The research group consisted of 100 people. Results: The quality of life of respondents depends on the length of the years of being infected with hypertension. It has been demonstrated statistical relationships in all areas of the WHO scale QOL- Bref, and the period of being infected with hypertension. With the increase in the period of illness reduce the amount of points earned by the respondents, which lowers the quality of life of respondents in every area of the WHO scale QOL- Bref. The length of the ill influence on the physical activity of the test population as assessed by scales: ADL IADL and Barthel. We observed an inverse proportional with the increase where the period of being infected with the disease reduced the results obtained from the questionnaires, indicating a decrease in patient autonomy. Conclusions: We found a statistically significant relationship between the sense of quality of life and the length of years of being infected with hypertension. This observation has any field scale WHOQOL- Bref. Statistical analysis shows that the longer the period of being infected with hypertension, including physical fitness was significantly lower subjects

Multidisciplinary care standard for a ventilated mechanic patient at home in Poland

The theoretical considerations on the role of breathing were already carried out by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. However, the first instrumental attempts to conduct artificial ventilation appeared only in the sixteenth century, when court physician Louis XIV Andreas Vesali Vesalius described the "action of air" blown into the airways of the dog by a reed placed in the trachea.German engineer Heinrich Drager developed a device in 1909 that allowed him to blow air into the patient's airways through a metal mask. The pulmotor, as this respirator was manufactured by Drager Werk AG, allowed the generation of positive pressure in the airways. Before 2000, home-made mechanical de-agglomeration in Poland should be considered as episodic. It was not until 2001 that the Home Care Ventilator Team was launched in the Regional Palliative Care Team in Bydgoszcz. It was the first unit of this type in Poland massively introducing domestic non-invasive ventilation. Currently, there are about 40 centers in Poland, including university units, non-university hospitals and private entities
