    Judul penelitian ini adalah Penerapan Model Explicit Instruction Pada Pembelajaran Seni Tari Untuk Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Siswa (Studi Eksperimen Pada Siswa Kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 3 Lembang). Permasalahan yang diangkat ialah bagaimana menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran tari dengan tiga pertanyaan penelitian diantaranya, (1) Bagaimana minat belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran seni tari sebelum diterapkannya model Explicit Instruction di kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 3 Lembang?, (2) Bagaimana proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran seni tari melalui model Explicit Instruction di kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 3 Lembang?, (3) Bagaimana hasil pembelajaran Seni Tari untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa setelah diterapkannya model Explicit Instruction dikelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 3 Lembang?. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data diantaranya studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data dan temuan mengenai minat belajar siswa sebelum menggunakan model explicit instruction sangat rendah karena model pembelajaran yang digunakan belum tepat, peningkatan minat terlihat pada saat proses pembelajaran, kemudian uji t tabel yang menyatakan bahwa t_tes 4 > t_tab1,729. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model explicit instruction sangat signifikan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan dapat di jadikan sebagai salah satu rekomendasi untuk pembelajaran tari terutama dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa

    Nanoporous Ge electrode as a template for nano-sized (<5 nm) Au aggregates

    none8In this paper we present the extremely peculiar electrical properties of nanoporous Ge. A full and accurate electrical characterization showed an unexpected and extremely high concentration of positive carriers. Electrochemical analyses showed that nanoporous Ge has improved charge transfer properties with respect to bulk Ge. The electrode behavior, together with the large surface-to-volume ratio, make nanoporous Ge an efficient nanostructured template for the realization of other porous materials by electrodeposition. The pores were efficiently decorated by Au nanoparticles of diameter as low as 1–5 nm, prepared by electrochemical deposition. These new results demonstrate the potential and efficient use of nanoporous Ge as a nanostructured template for nano-sized Au aggregates, opening the way for the realization of innovative sensor devices.openG.Impellizzeri; L.Romano; B.Fraboni; E.     Correction: Enhancing carrier generation in TiO2 by a synergistic effect between plasmon resonance in Ag nanoparticles and optical interference

    Silver nanoparticles have been embedded at a few nanometer distance from the free surface of titania/silica multilayers using low energy ion beam synthesis. Transmission electron microscopy shows the presence of 3 nm-sized crystalline particles. Reflectance spectroscopy on these composite substrates shows an increase of the light capture efficiency in the visible range. This behaviour is interpreted as a synergistic effect between plasmon polariton resonance and Fabry–Perot interferences. Plasmon-resonant Raman spectroscopy is deeply used to analyze, on one hand confinement of vibrations and electronic excitations in Ag NPs, and on the other hand coupling of polar TiO2 phonons with injected photo-generated carriers. It is shown how these new Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite films appear as very promising to enhance the efficiency and enlarge the spectral sensitivity of plasmo-electronics devices

    Heart failure: Pilot transcriptomic analysis of cardiac tissue by RNA-sequencing

    Background: Despite left ventricular (LV) dysfunction contributing to mortality in chronic heart failure (HF), the molecular mechanisms of LV failure continues to remain poorly understood and myocardial biomarkers have yet to be identified. The aim of this pilot study was to investigate specific transcriptome changes occurring in cardiac tissues of patients with HF compared to healthy condition patients to improve diagnosis and possible treatment of affected subjects. Methods: Unlike other studies, only dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) (n = 2) and restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) (n = 2) patients who did not report family history of the disease were selected with the aim of obtaining a homogeneous population for the study. The transcriptome of all patients were studied by RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) and the read counts were adequately filtered and normalized using a recently developed user-friendly tool for RNA-Seq data analysis, based on a new graphical user interface (RNA-SeqGUI). Results: By using this approach in a pairwise comparison with healthy donors, we were able to identify DCM- and RCM-specific expression signatures for protein-coding genes as well as for long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). Differential expression of 5 genes encoding different members of the mediator complex was disclosed in this analysis. Interestingly, a significant alteration was found for genes which had never been associated with HF until now, and 27 lncRNA/mRNA pairs that were significantly altered in HF patients. Conclusions: The present findings revealed specific expression pattern of both protein-coding and lncRNAs in HF patients, confirming that new LV myocardial biomarkers could be reliably identified using Next-Generation Sequencing-based approaches

    Separating arbitrary free-space beams with an integrated photonic processor

    : Free-space optics naturally offers multiple-channel communications and sensing exploitable in many applications. The different optical beams will, however, generally be overlapping at the receiver, and, especially with atmospheric turbulence or other scattering or aberrations, the arriving beam shapes may not even be known in advance. We show that such beams can be still separated in the optical domain, and simultaneously detected with negligible cross-talk, even if they share the same wavelength and polarization, and even with unknown arriving beam shapes. The kernel of the adaptive multibeam receiver presented in this work is a programmable integrated photonic processor that is coupled to free-space beams through a two-dimensional array of optical antennas. We demonstrate separation of beam pairs arriving from different directions, with overlapping spatial modes in the same direction, and even with mixing between the beams deliberately added in the path. With the circuit's optical bandwidth of more than 40 nm, this approach offers an enabling technology for the evolution of FSO from single-beam to multibeam space-division multiplexed systems in a perturbed environment, which has been a game-changing transition in fiber-optic systems

    Pelvic pain in reproductive age: US findings

    Pelvic pain in reproductive age often represents a diagnostic challenge due to the variety of potential causes characterized by overlapping clinical symptoms, including gynecological and other disorders (e.g., entero-colic or urological). It is also necessary to determine if there is a possibility of pregnancy to rule out any related complications, such as ectopic pregnancy. Although ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are strongly integrated, the choice of which is the ideal diagnostic tool should be guided both by clinical suspicion (gynecological vs. non-gynecological cause) and by the risk ratio-benefit (ionizing radiation and instrumental costs), too. The didactic objective proposed by this review consists in the diagnosis of the cause and differential of pelvic pain in reproductive age by describing and critically analyzing the US diagnostic clues of the most frequent adnexal, uterine, and vascular causes

    Candidate germline biomarkers of lenalidomide efficacy in mantle cell lymphoma: the FIL MCL0208 trial

    In the FIL MCL0208 phase III trial, lenalidomide maintenance (LEN) after transplantation (ASCT) in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) improved progression-free survival (PFS) vs observation (OBS). The host pharmacogenetic background was analyzed to decipher whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of genes encoding transmembrane transporters, metabolic enzymes, or cell surface receptors might predict drug efficacy. Genotypes were obtained by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in peripheral blood (PB) germ line DNA. Polymorphisms of either ABCB1 or VEGF were found in 69% and 79% of 278 patients and predicted favorable PFS vs homozygous wild type (WT) in the LEN arm: 3-year PFS 85% vs 70% (p < 0.05) and 85% vs 60% (p < 0.01), respectively. Patients carrying both ABCB1 and VEGF WT had the poorest 3-year PFS (46%) and overall survival (OS, 76%): in fact, in these patients LEN did not improve PFS vs OBS (3-year PFS 44% vs 60%, p = 0.62). Moreover, CRBN polymorphism (n = 28) was associated with lenalidomide dose reduction or discontinuation. Finally, ABCB1, NCF4, and GSTP1 polymorphisms predicted lower hematological toxicity during induction, while ABCB1 and CRBN polymorphisms predicted lower risk of grade ≥3 infections. This study demonstrates that specific SNPs represent candidate predictive biomarkers of immunochemotherapy toxicity and LEN efficacy after ASCT in MCL.     Functional dissection of the Drosophila Kallmann's syndrome protein DmKal-1

    BACKGROUND: Anosmin-1, the protein implicated in the X-linked Kallmann's syndrome, plays a role in axon outgrowth and branching but also in epithelial morphogenesis. The molecular mechanism of its action is, however, widely unknown. Anosmin-1 is an extracellular protein which contains a cysteine-rich region, a whey acidic protein (WAP) domain homologous to some serine protease inhibitors, and four fibronectin-like type III (FnIII) repeats. Drosophila melanogaster Kal-1 (DmKal-1) has the same protein structure with minor differences, the most important of which is the presence of only two FnIII repeats and a C-terminal region showing a low similarity with the third and the fourth human FnIII repeats. We present a structure-function analysis of the different DmKal-1 domains, including a predicted heparan-sulfate binding site. RESULTS: This study was performed overexpressing wild type DmKal-1 and a series of deletion and point mutation proteins in two different tissues: the cephalopharyngeal skeleton of the embryo and the wing disc. The overexpression of DmKal-1 in the cephalopharyngeal skeleton induced dosage-sensitive structural defects, and we used these phenotypes to perform a structure-function dissection of the protein domains. The reproduction of two deletions found in Kallmann's Syndrome patients determined a complete loss of function, whereas point mutations induced only minor alterations in the activity of the protein. Overexpression of the mutant proteins in the wing disc reveals that the functional relevance of the different DmKal-1 domains is dependent on the extracellular context. CONCLUSION: We suggest that the role played by the various protein domains differs in different extracellular contexts. This might explain why the same mutation analyzed in different tissues or in different cell culture lines often gives opposite phenotypes. These analyses also suggest that the FnIII repeats have a main and specific role, while the WAP domain might have only a modulator role, strictly connected to that of the fibronectins
