    Spin-fluctuation theory beyond Gaussian approximation

    A characteristic feature of the Gaussian approximation in the functional-integral approach to the spin-fluctuation theory is the jump phase transition to the paramagnetic state. We eliminate the jump and obtain a continuous second-order phase transition by taking into account high-order terms in the expansion of the free energy in powers of the fluctuating exchange field. The third-order term of the free energy renormalizes the mean field, and fourth-order term, responsible for the interaction of the fluctuations, renormalizes the spin susceptibility. The extended theory is applied to the calculation of magnetic properties of Fe-Ni Invar.Comment: 20 pages, 4 figure

    The parasite fauna of lake frogs in the Ural region has been studied. 14 species of parasites belonging to Trematoda, Nematoda and Protozoa were found in the lake frog Pelophylax ridibundus in the South and Middle Ural. The parasitocenosis is characterized by a simplified structure while the number of infected animals increases with age. It was determined that the parasite species quantity in all age groups of P. ridibundus in the South Ural was higher than in the Middle Ural. Изучена фауна паразитов у озерной лягушки в водоемах Урала. У озерной лягушки Pelophylax ridibundus на Южном и Среднем Урале обнаружено 14 видов паразитов, относящихся к трематодам, нематодам и простейшим. Паразитоценоз P. ridibundus характеризуется упрощенной структурой, при этом отмечено увеличение зараженности животных с возрастом. Выявлено, что видовое разнообразие паразитов у всех возрастных групп P. ridibundus на территории Южного Урала выше, чем на Среднем Урале.

    We study the electronic properties of the Bi1.1Sb0.9Te2S topological insulator by the magneto-optical spectroscopy. Reflection and transmission spectra were obtained in magnetic fields from 0 to 11 T.     Nanoscale engineering of hybrid magnetite–carbon nanofibre materials for magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents

    Magnetic nanomaterials show significant promise as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We have developed a new highly efficient one-step procedure for the synthesis of magnetically- functionalised hollow carbon nanofibres, where (i) the carbon nanofibres act as both a template and a support for the nucleation and growth of magnetite nanoparticles and (ii) the structural (size, dispersity and morphology) and functional (magnetisation and coercivity) properties of the magnetic nanoparticles formed on nanofibres are strictly controlled by the mass ratio of the magnetite precursor to the nanofibres and the solvent employed during synthesis. We have shown that our magnetite-nanofibre materials are effectively solubilised in water resulting in a stable suspension that has been employed as a ‘‘negative’’ MRI contrast agent with an excellent transverse relaxivity (r2) of (268 13) mM s 1, surpassing current commercial materials and state-of-the-art magnetic nanoscale platforms in performance for MRI contrast at high magnetic fields. The preparation and evaluation of this unique hybrid nanomaterial represents a critical step towards the realisation of a highly efficient ‘‘smart’’ MRI theranostic agent – a material that allows for the combined diagnosis (with MRI), treatment (with magnetic targeting) and follow-up of a disease (with MRI) – currently in high demand for various clinical applications, including stratified nanomedicine

    The compounds RMn2Si2 (R = La, Sm, Tb) with tetragonal ThCr2Si2 – type structure were studied.     Recommendations on peri-operative infusion-transfusion therapy in children have been developed by the members of Association of Children Anesthesiologists and Emergency Physicians of Russia, possessing significant experience of anaesthesiologic and intensive care provided to children. These recommendations are aimed to provide clear instructions on compilation of peri-operative infusion program in order to reduce the risk of complications related to this in children of various age groups, to enhance efficiency and safety of anaesthesiologic support in general. Recommendations do not include some specific issues of infusion therapy in specialized medical fields.Рекомендации по интраоперационной инфузионно-трансфузионной терапии у детей разработаны членами Ассоциации детских анестезиологов-реаниматологов России, имеющих большой опыт оказания анестезиолого-реаниматологической помощи детям. Целью данных рекомендаций является предоставление четких правил по составлению программы интраоперационной инфузии для уменьшения риска осложнений, связанных с ее проведением у детей разных возрастных групп, повышения эффективности и безопасности анестезиологического обеспечения в целом. Рекомендации не рассматривают частные вопросы проведения инфузионной терапии в специализированных областях медицины
